Chapter 6 - Noelle’s POV 2

A warm sensation was enveloped on my chest down to my legs. I thought it was just my imagination but once I peaked my eyes open someone was hugging me. Their hair tickled my skin making my face itchy. The sun had peeked through the curtains and except for the occasional zombie growling it was silent. That's odd… it was silent? Diana usually sleep talks making it quite difficult to fall back asleep. It was also strange that last night I was deep in sleep. I was always a light sleeper… After I kept questioning these thoughts I noticed I was wide awake, the person hugging me wasn't Diana but rather the freshman. I could feel my face distort from disgust while I pull my body free from her grasp.

"noelle… are you awake?"

"…"

How disturbing, she had always given me weird vibes but now she's being extremely touchy even though I hardly know her. It disgusted me how she touched me, her touch made my skin crawl and it was a very unpleasant feeling. I tugged free from her and started looking for my glasses.

"Diana did I leave my glasses with you."

Even though I was fully awake my eye sight was blurry making me shuffle around blindly. White hair suddenly blocked my vision and came in front of my face and had awkwardly placed a pair of glasses on me. I gave her a piercing stare and she retreated back to the makeshift bed.

"Dia-…"

Finally getting a good look around the classroom I couldn't see Diana. Huh…? Where did she go? Why is she not here? What happened? Is everything okay? Questions popped up in my head and I furiously turned to the freshman.

"Where is she."

"Who?"

A mischievous grin plastered on her face for a split second, then a confused look overtook her expression.

"I-I don't know who you're talking about Noelle…"

"Are you playing stupid?"

"If you're referring to Diana she left."

she gave a sad pout while averting her eyes, it was evident that she was lying. I gave her a blood lust glare to try scaring the information out of her.

"Where is she."

"Noelle! You're being scary why do you even care about her?! Y-you told me that you only cared for me… Do you really think I would lie to you."

"That's none of your business and why would I trust an outsider like you? Tell me or I'm leaving."

I ignored her blatant lie about me telling her I care about her.

"Leaving?! Where are you going?! Take me with you please!"

It seemed the only words that she heard was me leaving. Really is this girl that obsessed with me? How did I even gain such a stalker?

"I'm going to find Diana, you can come. IF you tell me where she is."

Obviously this is a lie, why would I take her with me when she had hurt Diana before.

"I told you I don't know where she is!"

She gave me those puppy dog eyes while she inched closer to my legs.

"Hah…"

I was debating if I should kick her, but for the sake of Diana I tried keeping my calm but an itching sensation in my heart was getting uncontrollable. I was confused and mad a second ago but now it feels like my chest was tightening up. I don't know why I was having such feelings. It felt like I couldn't my breath and it became unbearable. It was like a part of me was missing. It was odd I had never felt this way, the only thing that could compare to this feeling was when I caught my friends talking behind my back. I was more calmed though.

"A-are you okay?!"

Aria tried coming towards me but I had quickly stepped away and slammed my fist on the table while I grabbed my shirt.

"Don't come closer."

"Noelle please calm down I…I don't know where she could have went but have some water, okay?"

My mind was in jumbles, I reluctantly took the water bottle and was about to gulp down a huge amount until I saw her expression. It was the first time I saw an angry look from her face. She was grinning as well which made me unconsciously put down the water bottle. She also had this expression when she gave me water to drink last night.

"Huh? What's wrong?"

"Drink it"

"What??

"Drink the water."

I motioned the water bottle towards her hand and her face was in pure dismay. She pushed the water bottle back towards me with an awkward smile.

"No it's okay I have a weak bladder"

"You drunk a whole bottle early, I think you're fine."

"…Well I'm not thirsty but thanks"

An awkward smile still plastered on her face while she inched away. It was weird the way she acted since she would always take the opportunity to get closer. The tight feeling in my chest subsided and all my thoughts were cleared and filled with suspicion.

"Don't you want a sip? It'll be an indirect kiss."

I came closer to Aria slowly wrapping my arms around her shoulders while bringing her closer to me. I could tell she had froze up from the sudden attack and couldn't budge.

"Aria if you tell me the truth I'll forgive you."

I whispered in her ears cunningly

"Eh- I- uhm… Noelle you're too close…"

Aria's face was now dyed in red, she shivered every time Noelle spoke in her ear.

"If you don't tell me now I'll be angry"

"…"

"1…2…"

"O-okay fine! you win, you promise you won't be angry?"

"Mhm."

She told me everything that had happen last night and how she deliberately drugged my drink so I wouldn't wake up. She said it was all for my sake and how Diana was a fox plotting for my death. I'm so stupid. I should've stayed awake with her, I should've been there with her, Why didn't I see what was happening. I stayed quiet to let Aria finish every last second of her explanation. Once it was over I stood up and slapped her.

"Are you a moron?! Did you really think if you killed Diana you'll earn my love?! you F****"

"B-but Noelle you said you wouldn't be mad…"

"…mad? I'm not mad."

"Then-.."

"I'm OUTRAGED! How could you? What did Diana do to you? F—- what am I going to do…"

"I-…"

"Shut up. I'm leaving don't follow me."

"N-Noelle! Why! Why her?! What's so special about her! Y-you… you promised me that we'll be together…"

"Hah…? I don't even know who you are. You've mistaken me for someone else, now piss off before I do something I'll regret"

After giving her a glare I grabbed my bag and started packing items in it, such as resources, jackets, and a long ruler with a sharp edge to it.

"Noelle please don't leave me, please! I'm sorry I'll do anything please."

"Hah. I bet you heard her cries too and ignored it."

I raised the ruler up in the air and slapped it on the desk.

"Sh—, Just leave me alone you crazy psychopath!"

Aria dropped to the floor crying causing a little tantrum. Annoyed I ignored her cries.

By dumb luck she hadn't attracted any zombies. So I quickly moved the desk and exited the weeping classroom in anger. Even though I was fuming with rage a second ago my heart started aching all of the sudden. It was worse than before, being left alone not knowing where Diana could have went. She must have been petrified and I didn't do anything, imagining her crying alone somewhere made my heart tighten even more. There was also a possibility where might not want to see me or worse… she could have. I left that last thought unanswered, I knew she wouldn't have died that easily and it had only been a few hours. She must be around here somewhere. These thoughts circled around my head while I was checking each classroom on the 2nd floor.

15 minutes go by,

While giving up hope, tears began swelling up making my vision foggy. I slouched down in the hallway hiding my face in between my knees. I didn't know what to do, where to go, and what I would do without Diana. I felt lost, until a low growl cleared my head. It sounded far from me which was reliving but once I tracked where it was coming from I spontaneously got up and flew towards the first floor.
