Lucian slowly moved out of the house squinting his eyes a little due to the blinding rays of light. At the gate was a Mia who held a travel bag in hand with an incredibly beautiful smile on her face..For a person who has been housed behind a gate for all her life, an outing like this was just a one in a million chance.
"I need to quickly check on something, Mia." Lucian said as he made his way towards the backyard. Deep within the garden was a tomb made with a beautiful blue coloured tile.
The headstone was made of the same material and written on it was the name- Jason Burningblue.
Lucian slowly got on one knee as he gently placed the rose in his hands on the tomb.
"We'll be leaving now uncle Jason. Don't worry, as I promised you, I'll take good care of Mia." Lucian stood there for a minute more before standing up and leaving.
Having paid respect to the only thing that mattered to him in the clan, there's nothing for him to miss in here again.
Holding the travel bag in his left hand and grabbing Mia's in his right hand, they slowly made their way out of the clan.
He could see some clan members whispering in the distance, some throwing mocking gaze at him but he ignored it as he grabbed Mia's hand tighter and hurriedly increased his step.
Reaching the clan's gate, It wasn't long when Lucian found an empty chariot as he placed their travel bag within before entering with Mia.
Travelling using a chariot was the most common man way of travelling for third grade members like him. The second grade and first travelled using beasts, mostly flying ones which can move almost three times faster than sound ensuring a quick journey.
"We can go now Charioteer."
"Hiaaa." The chariot immediately sped away into the distance as they headed out unknown of the danger that lurks behind.

It was a very long journey for Lucian. Sitting down in the chariot for almost eight hours straight was an incredibly boring thing but it wasn't for Lucian, after being repeatedly asked by Mia 'what is that sound' all the time.
Besides it was also his own first time moving out of the clan so he really enjoyed it although something bothered Lucian a little on his way.
Carrying the travel bag out of the chariot, he made his way out after paying the Charioteer as they entered into the Inn.
Lucian arrived in front of the bar looking at the innkeeper, an old man who looked as if he'll be dying tomorrow, as he ordered a room for the next two weeks.
The old man was incredibly happy to take them in as this place was an incredibly remote area and he might never see any customer for years making him offer them the room for a small price.
This was why Lucian picked this place. Not only was it more than thousands of miles from the clan. It was situated beside a natural forest and very quiet. Something extremely good for his sister and him also.
Lucian packed the luggage inside the room, which was pretty good looking too. The furnitures were strangely newer than he thought they would be and it was the cleaness he loved about it the most.
Heading downstairs to grab some food as he didn't bring any from coming to the place. Lucian moved down the stairs as he asked the old man for some food and drinks.
"So not from around here, right?." the old man asked staring strangely at Lucian.
"Not only is your clothing different, your accent is also a little rigid to me. It's not really that hard to know you're not from around here." He said chuckling a little.
"Yes, just looking for a quiet place to settle down for a while." Lucian said without thinking much about it.
"You can live here for as long as you want, I don't have many people here by the way."The old man offered as he finally gave Lucian the food.
Lucian didn't say anything to that as he took the tray and made his way back upstairs.
"Here." Lucian grabbed the small card that was thrown towards him as he stared at the card discovering the inscription on it before staring back at the old man.
"It's for communication. When you break that card, I'll be immediately notified with this other card that is with me. It's bonded with my blood and hence my life. Even if I'm asleep, I'll still hear it and respond immediately, it'll flash a blue light showing I got the message. If it flashed a red light, then that means I didn't pick the message which could only mean one thing. Not like there's anything that you'll need but it wouldn't hurt to have it in hand, you know."
"Thanks old man." Lucian said as he kept the card in his front pocket and made his way upstairs.
He could see Mia already showered for the night as they both ate in silence before Mia immediately went to bed. It seems she was a little more than tired from the journey.
Lucian finally had some time for himself alone. His face immediately turned serious as he headed to the travel bag and brought an old worn out book.
There was something Lucian found incredibly strange on the journey as for a split second he saw a blue colour in the sky which faded away immediately.
It was simply impossible for him to ignore as blue mostly means the BurningBlue clan.
Opening the book, he moved to the the place that described the strange phenomenoa of the clan. This book was left by him by Uncle Jason and it contained detailed information of the entire clan operation and Uncle Jason's personal note on them.
Lucian finally saw what he was looking for as a strange look appeared on seeing it.
It was about the BurningBlue eagle. A very fast bird used by the clan for it's operation. It usually leave a blue trail behind which is almost impossible to sense by ordinary mortals.
But that wasn't what make Lucian face scrunched up, it was the last sentence, Uncle Jason's note below the page:
"If you sight the flash of blue in the sky, better be alert."
Lucian didn't think too much about it as he grabbed the travel bag and started arranging their luggage inside the room.
-- -- --
Unknown to Jason and the Innkeeper, outside the inn was a gigantic blue bird which slowly landed a few miles from the inn. Three individual covered completely in dark robes slowly got down from the eagle as they suddenly merged into the shadows in the next second.

Lucian finished packing the luggage to their areas as he prepared himself to eat too when he suddenly heard a knock on the door.
'What could that old man possibly want at this time of the night.' Lucian thought to himself as he made his way towards the door. His hand was just a centimeter from reaching the knob when they immediately paused and slowly retreated as Shane took out the card he was given by the old man.
Crushing it between his fingertips, he expected a blue flash of light and the old man scolding him from outside the door but the card flashed a deep red colour making Lucian's heart hammered within his chest as the card flashing a red light could only mean one thing.
The old man-Inn keeper- was Dead.
If he was dead, then who was knocking?
