a whistle blows signaling both teams as the match was beginning. OPU was given the first serve. Kurai locking eyes with Eric across the net with a smirk. 'Let's see if you've improved any, Eric' Kurai tosses the ball high into the air.
"Good serve" he exhales and bolts forward. Slamming his feet into the court. Jumping into the air and slamming the ball over the net and scoring a point. A loud echo filled the gym as people stopped in their tracks to look over. OPU 1-0 MCTC.
Jaden smirks.
"Good serve, Kurai!" Kurai tosses the ball. Flawlessly bolting forward and warping the ball on the court with the power he generated. Eric gritted his teeth. 'Still the same powerful serve as ever, Mister Emperor of the court' Kurai lands as aura pours from his eyes, he is in a state of flow. The whistle rang again as Kurai tossed the ball and bolted forward. Eric exhales. 'Which serve will it be…?' the ball was suddenly in front of his face. 'I don't remember this-' Eric moves his head as the ball floats and lands within the court boundaries. OPU 3-0 MCTC.
"A floater with his jump serves insane speed!?" Owen thinks to himself. 'You told me to keep an eye on Eric because he's a well rounded player… but that tip wasn't helpful when you decided to score 3 consecutive serves on his team!' Jaden smirks.
"So this is what it's like playing with the setter from the Monster Generation?"
"Good serve" Kurai exhales as his eyes continue to glow as he tosses the ball and wraps it around his hand, sending it flying over the net at incredible speeds. MCTC's Libero dives and falls on his face but manages to bring up the ball.
"Nice receive!" Eric runs up to the net. Kurai's 6 foot 11 presence is overwhelming. Eric smirks and jumps, setter dumping the ball over Kurai's head. Kurai turns around as the ball hits the court. Smirking while looking at Eric.
"Devious as ever… Eric" the score bumped up. OPU 3-1 MCTC. Kurai steps back as Eric prepares to serve. Taking a deep breath and tossing the ball. Kurai shouts
"Carlos!" Carlos focuses as the ball flies straight for him. The ball bouncing off his shoulder and flying out of bounds. OPU 3-2 MCTC. Jaden gulped in shock. 'I'm not even doing anything… right now… this is a 1 versus 1 between two monsters!" Eric and Kurai lock eyes, both entering a state of flow.
Eric tossed the ball and ran up again. Carlos exhales. 'What an honor to be on a court with such monsters of the sport I love… I WON"T LET THEM OUTSHINE ME ANYMORE!' The ball bolts over the net as Carlos hops back and leaning forward, perfectly receiving the ball. Jaden looks over as Carlos had entered a state of flow as well.
"Kurai!" Kurai runs up to the net, jumping up to set as Eric appears, ready to block. 'You wish' Kurai taps the ball over the block. Setter dumping directly after Eric's previous setter dump. A challenge between two monsters. OPU 4-2 MCTC.
Jaden tosses the ball and overhand serves it. MCTC's Libero brings it up easily as Eric jumps to set the ball. Kurai tugs slightly on Owen's shirt as Eric sets the ball to the right, Owen and Kurai already there ready to block. The wing spiker hits the ball at an Anglethat Carlos dives forward to receive. Kurai jumps back and leans down.
Suddenly feeling a strong pressure behind him. Jaden's eyes glowed with intensity. 'Give me the ball, let me make an impact on the game!' Kurai smirks and looks to the left side of the court. The blockers rush over as Kurai sets it to the right side of the court instead.
"No blockers!" Jaden runs up, slamming his feet on the court and flying in the air. Pulling his arm back like a bow and slamming it into the ball as it hits the court behind him. 2 of the 3 blockers for MCTC had fallen for Kurai's trick, but one didn't, Jaden had been blocked. His eyes stop glowing as he hits the court. OPU 4-3 MCTC. Coach Haruki is stunned.
"Kurai mentioned to the team to watch the setters eyes when blocking… he used that and looked to the left to make the blockers think he's gonna set that way, when he actually set behind him!... no wonder Kurai is called the emperor of the court!" a lage metaphorical hand stands hovering over the court like a puppeteer's hand, manipulating the whole court to Kurai's will.
MCTS blocker overhand serves the ball. Owen leaned forward and received it.
"Nice receive, Owen!" Kurai runs forward. Eric gritting his teeth with a smirk. Kurai jumping into the air to set. The blockers prepare to move to either the left or right at a moment's notice. Jaden runs up to the net as the blockers rush to the right side of the net. In a shocking move, Kurai transitions from a setting motion into a spike, slamming the ball over the net with no blockers. OPU 5-3 MCTC. Jazz sits off in the back corner of the court. 'What am I doing!? Why aren't I doing anything in this match!? Do something Jazz! Do something!'
