Kurai tosses the ball after the whistle blows. Bolting forward and jumping. Slamming the ball over the net as Conner receives it but falling over. Kurai smirks as he lands.
"It's high!" James runs up to set as Eric jumps up. No one showed up to block him. 'Why aren't they blocking me? What are they planning?' Eric spikes the ball as Ajax easily brings it up. Kurai locking eyes with Lucas and setting the ball. Lucas jumped up and slammed the ball right in front of Eric. Landing on the court. Conner looking over.
"Are you good, Eric?" Eric looks down still trying to process why they wouldn't block him.
"Y-yeah, i'm fine" Conner raises an eyebrow but looks away.
"You'll get it next time." Eric focuses on the net.
"What just happened? Did LakeWood Technical not block him on purpose??"
"I'm not sure, but i'm thinking LakeWood Technical's #2 has something up his sleeve. Something we don't know about?"
A whistle blows as Kurai jumps and serves the ball again as Eric receives it but falls over. The ball floating over the net. 'Take advantage of the chaos from the receive, and strike him down again!' Kurai jumps up and instantly sets the ball. Lucas jumping up and spiking it between Eric and James. Lucas landing and looking down on Eric. Eric's eyes widened in disbelief. 'Just changing out setters makes you this much better Lucas!? Who is that Kurai guy!?' The crowd goes crazy. MCHS 0-2 LWTHS.
Kurai exhales as a whistle blows.
"Good serve" Kurai tosses the ball high into the air and runs forward. Swinging his hand at an angle putting a strong curve on it. Conner dives on his face but manages to receive the ball yet again.
"James!!" James jumps up and sets the ball as Eric jumps up to spike. Dougal jumps to block as the ball hits his arm. Kaneko diving forward and receiving it. Kurai is shocked as Kaneko turns the forward momentum into a run-up. Remembering back to before the plane crash when their Dad was practicing with them.
"Now, don't just jump, slam your feet down and BOOM!" Kaneko tilts his head as Kurai tries to keep the ball off the ground by himself.
"And Boom?" He smiles as Aki looks up. Running forward. Slamming his feet into the ground. His calves and thigh muscles bulge as he jumps high into the sky. Kaneko's eyes sparkling in amazement.
"Remember, don't just jump. Slam your whole body weight into the ground, only then will you truly fly. In Volleyball, the only way to counter Height is jumping" Kurai catches the ball in amazement.
Kaneko diving forward and receiving it. Kurai shocked as Kaneko turns the forward momentum into a run-up. Turning to face Eric and smirking. Slamming his feet into the ground releasing a loud boom as his muscles bulge. Jumping into the air as Kurai's eyes widen. Kaneko's knee's above the bottom of the net. Kurai remembering his Dad. 'Dad? Kaneko, is that really you?' The ball echoes off the court as Kaneko lands on the court. The crowd went crazy.
"Was it just me or did he jump over the net just then!?" The other announcers' glasses fall off.
"You can tell Kurai and Kaneko are the children of Russia's #4 Aki Vlast'!!"
