Coach Russ is saddened not to see Kurai or Xavier and sighs.
"As you all know, today is our final practice before we leave tomorrow morning at 6. Let's not go full steam ahead and keep the effort to a minimum today, we wanna keep our physical pain to a minimum before the finale game tomorrow" everyone shouts in agreement as suddenly the door opens. Kaneko's eyes widen.
"I feel like I gave up to easily, let's give this another try…" Kurai stands there confidently as Russ and Lucas run over.
"This time, instead of wallowing over what i've lost, I'll fight for what we had. Together with you all by my side" Lucas smirks. Kurai walking over and picking up the ball. Tossing it high and running forward. Swinging his hand back. A loud slam echoes as everyone looks on in disbelief. Lucas' jaw on the floor.
"H-how did you do that!?" Kurai smirks confidently as a calm aura radiates from him.
"I saw it in a video I watched recently…" Russ smirks.
"I guess the emperor of the court has returned to his kingdom!" Kurai turning to the net.
"This new technique of mine is for those we've lost!"
Kurai thinks to himself as all the lights turn off. This will be their first game with someone talking through it. Spotlights fly through the arena as Kaneko is in awe.
"Welcome everyone! Welcome to the High school Volleyball district finals!" The crowd goes crazy as Kurai looks around. The spotlights now pointing at the court in the middle of the arena. 'Isn't this a bit much for only a district finale match?'
"Starting off with a team that regularly makes nationals…" a drumroll sounds as people stomp their feet.
"Mason County High School and their starting line-up…!" There was an extended silence.
"Wearing Jersey number 1 is team captain: Eric giles…" everyone goes crazy as he runs out onto the court.
"Next up is Jersey number 2: Derek Williams…" cheers fill the arena.
"Then we have Jersey number 12: Connor Hancog, acting Libero for tonight's game…" The arena goes crazy as girls seemingly simp for him.
"Then we have wing spikers Cameron Miller and Mason Wanter!" both of them run out as the crowd cheers.
"Finally we have The team setter: Jersey number 5, James hendrickson. Of course Mason County's coach, Bryson Boone" everyone cheers as Boone waves.
"Now onto the rising stars of this match, the challengers so to say" Coach Russ stands up as Kurai's heart races.
"LakeWood Technical High school, Team captain: Jersey Number 1, Lucas Baker! with a large selection of serves up his sleeves" Lucas high fives everyone and running onto the court. Instantly locking eyes with Eric.
"Next up is Freshman number 8: Dougal Wilson, A giant, fast, middle blocker" Dougal stands up and high fives everyone. Walking out beside Lucas and high fiving him.
"And Freshman Jersey Number #3: Kaneko Vlast', A rising star here in Kentucky; 'The Goliath Ace.' Even though he's only a Freshman!" everyone cheers as Kaneko walks out towering over everyone.
"After him is the shortest member on the team standing only at 5 foot 10, Nete Xarajico" Nate stands up smiling. High fiving Russ who grabs his shoulder.
"If you make one mistake, you're off the court" Nate nods and runs out on the court. High fiving everyone.
"And Jersey Number 2, Team Setter and twins with Kaneko Vlast', Kurai Vlast' has already made a splash in the world of Volleyball only after two matches with his team. Having already been gifted the nickname 'Emperor of the Court', along with his staggering 6 foot 8 height, he's someone to look out for" Kurai runs out onto the court high fiving everyone except Nate.
"And rounding out their line-up is starting Libero: Ajax Adams…" Ajax quickly runs out on the court as everyone goes crazy.
"LakeWood's Coach is Russ Daniel. Assistant coach is Chloe Armel, and practice director is Erik Combs" the three wave a bit as tensions rise. Lucas and Eric meeting at the net.
"We won't loose this time Eric, tails" Eric smirks.
"Yeah, heads" There was tension as the coin landed. The ref looking at Lucas.
"Tails, Lucas?" Lucas smirks.
"Serving side" A whistle blows as everyone steps in their positions. Eric taking a deep breath as everyone steps back. 'We've seen you serve, Kurai… we know what to expect!' Another whistle blows as Kurai exhales.
"Up first to serve is LakeWood Technical's setter, Kurai Vlast'..." The other man talking.
"We've heard alot about his powerful serves, how will Mason County deal with them?"
