Jon hadn't anticipated the ease with which he could subdue this colossal dragon. Perhaps its prolonged confinement underground, coupled with the relentless torment inflicted by the goblins, had significantly diminished its spirit.
He merely stared into the dragon's eyes, instilling fear, and then employed hellfire to assimilate it, thus effortlessly taming the beast.
Jon recalled a generation of Ghost Riders whose steed was not an inanimate object like a motorcycle or a race car, but a skeletal horse. This was the inaugural Ghost Rider, Carter Slade, also known as the Ghost Knight.
This sparked an idea in Jon's mind; he too could domesticate a living creature to serve as his mount, such as the dragon before him.
In comparison to motorcycles and race cars, Jon found the prospect of riding a gargantuan dragon far more captivating.
Jon wrested the bell from the goblin's grasp, reassuring the dragon, "You no longer need to fear this object, Igris!"
As he spoke, he jingled the bell, its crisp sound echoing once more, but this time, Igris remained unresponsive.
Having been assimilated by Jon, Igris not only healed from years of accumulated injuries but also became impervious to the pains that once tormented him.
"Excellent!" Jon exclaimed, discarding the bell and crushing it underfoot.
He then reverted to his human form, turned to the goblin, and commanded, "I require your assistance in reaching a specific location. Take me to Bellatrix Lestrange's vault!"
The goblin attempted to fabricate an excuse to decline, but the sight of the flaming skeletal dragon behind Jon silenced his protestations. He acquiesced timidly, "Very well...No problem, sir!"
Bellatrix, one of Voldemort's Death Eaters and among the few female members, was currently incarcerated in Azkaban for her crimes. Despite her imprisonment, Gringotts still safeguarded her assets, permitting no external interference.
Jon's primary motive for visiting her vault was the presence of a hidden Horcrux.
Voldemort had partitioned his soul into seven fragments, each concealed within a Horcrux. This ensured his invincibility, as his soul was not contained within his body.
To annihilate Voldemort completely, one must obliterate all seven Horcruxes. Jon's hellfire, capable of incinerating souls, was futile against Voldemort, whose soul was not totally within him.
Jon was acutely aware of this, hence his determination to seize this opportunity to destroy the Horcrux.
His initial plan was to pilfer Gibbon's assets first, then return to Gringotts to destroy the Horcrux. However, his exposure necessitated a change in plans.
The goblin escorted Jon to the vault and unlocked the door for him.
A room brimming with gold, silver, and treasures unfolded before Jon's eyes.
From floor to ceiling, it was crammed with gold coins, goblets, silver armor, various potions, and magical animal hides.
"Help me dispel the curse!" Jon demanded coldly.
The goblin feigned confusion, to which Jon retorted sternly, "Enough with the charade! The Flagrante and Gemino Curses have been cast on the treasure. Anything touched would ignite and multiply, eventually crushing the thief under the weight of the expanding gold!"
Jon, having seen the movie, was aware of this and ordered the goblin to lift the curse.
The goblin confessed, "Indeed, sir! But...I lack the authority to dispel these curses for you!"
Jon dismissed the goblin's protest, brandishing a magic wand that had once belonged to Gibbon. After Gibbon's demise, the wand had recognized Jon as its new master. With Gibbon's memories and magical power, Jon could effortlessly cast spells.
"I fear your spell won't work in Gringotts, sir!" the goblin cautioned.
Ignoring the goblin's warning, Jon raised the wand and softly chanted, "Reverte!"
A blue light emanated from the wand, striking the ceiling before transforming into a shower of blue starlight. As the starlight descended onto the treasures, the goblin was astounded to find all the curses had vanished.
"How is this possible?!" the goblin exclaimed in disbelief.
Jon dismissed his astonishment, "Find the Golden Cup."
Jon had utilized the power of Ghost Rider to bolster the spell, which could essentially be considered a dimensionality reduction blow to the magic power of this world. Consequently, Jon's spell could effortlessly dispel the curses on these assets.
He ventured into the vault, scouring the gold and silver artifacts for the Horcrux. His gaze soon settled on a golden cup.
'Hufflepuff's Cup! This is it!' Jon thought to himself.
He approached the golden cup and picked it up.
Jon could sense a fragment of a sinful soul trapped within the golden cup.
"Before our face-to-face encounter, allow me to present you with a gift, Voldemort."
Ahhhhhhhhhh!
As Jon spoke, the hellfire in his hand engulfed the golden cup. A piercing scream erupted from the cup, like a roaring serpent.
Jon gripped it tightly, the golden cup shattered instantly, the screams ceased, and Voldemort's soul fragment was incinerated by Jon's hellfire.
"One down!" Jon said, then proceeded to fill a large bag with gold coins, potions, herbs, and magical animal remnants from the vault.
The gold and silver artifacts and armor, being inconvenient to transport and of no use to Jon, were left behind.
Even the herbs and magical animal hides would prove beneficial to Jon. In the future, Jon would kill more Death Eaters, possibly gaining knowledge of potion-making from their memories, and these items could serve as raw materials.
After packing his belongings, he exited the vault.
He could already hear the approaching footsteps of additional guards.
"It's time to depart, Igris!" Jon hoisted the large bag onto his back, mounted Igris, and shouted, "Let's get out of this wretched place!"
"Hurry, there he is! Don't let him escape!"
"By Merlin's beard, what is that?! A flaming dragon skeleton?!"
"Is not that the Ukrainian Ironbelly?! How did it transform into this?!"
Several guards rushed over, but the sight of Igris' terrifying form halted them in their tracks.
Igris unfurled his enormous flaming wings, forcing the guards to retreat. With a powerful flap of his wings, his colossal body ascended into the air, heading towards the top of Gringotts.
...
In the bank reception of Gringotts, the goblins sat behind a long counter, diligently performing their tasks in an orderly manner.
Suddenly, they felt a subtle tremor beneath their feet, and the grand chandelier overhead began to sway. They looked around in confusion.
Suddenly, a deafening crash echoed through the room as a massive dragon burst through the ground.
It was a skeletal dragon enveloped in flames, and atop it sat a humanoid flaming skeleton.
The skeletal dragon shattered the iron roof, soaring into the sky. It smashed through the ceiling with its massive head, then breached the top of the wall and flew out of Gringotts.
