SUNDAY. A lazy and uneventful Sunday was what she needed after a police persecution the prior day. Adda dragged her feet to the kitchen to have a late breakfast, rubbing her droopy eyes. She hadn’t even bothered changing her pajamas yet, and wasn’t planning on doing so soon. After all, tomorrow was school day again, and she was trying to hold onto the weekend more than usual. The room was at peace, with whispery chattery from the hallways and the contiguous walls to tickle her ears. If it hadn’t been for her roaring stomach, the bedsheets would have probably won the battle and Adda would have been stuck in that warm nest forever. Now, with a bowl of cereal and milk on the table, she was ready to start the day. It was such her focus on the crunching matter that any sounds were dismissed until a shadow drew closer to her.

“Hey, Adda.”
