ADDA SIGHED with relief. After a long, long movie of strange contradictions, references to events she had never heard from in her life, and her mother’s loud ‘whispering’ about how blasphemous the scenes were, the movie finally ended.
Adda saw her mother quickly get up from her seat and furiously storm off with a “Let's go”. Adda hurried to follow her, worried of what she might do. She took Ben by the hand and pulled him along, the boy protesting against her grip.
“It hurts!”
“Shhh!”
Ben jerked away from her touch and followed her just to push her as they were leaving the line of armchairs. Adda gave him a silent but deadly stare, but her little brother was far from threatened and blew off a raspberry. Soon her dad, who had been dozing off, realized the movie had ended and got up out of his seat with a grunt and heavy steps.
