"Brother, what happened to you?" Barret asked on the way.
"Torture," he made a gesture of suffering, he was a very dramatic guy, but a girl took off my chains and I was able to save Ocean."
Ocean thought of Luna, surely one of her clones had entered the base. Upon reaching the front door, some were still fighting, in the distance they saw Zev and the others, Kylen looked at them feeling calm that they were still alive.
"This place is so deserted, it looks horrible," he thought, raising his hand to his chin.
The sound of bullets, the cries of despair and the destruction took over the area and grew more and more, many members of the Community hadn't been able to escape yet and to tell the truth, there were too many. Ocean and the others joined Kylen as he was closer. Ronda, Luna and Zev rushed towards them, surprised to see a new face with them.
"Who is he?" Kylen asked.
"You," the new one pointed out to Luna, "you helped me, tell me, has someone been bothering you?" His voice was peaceful and high pitched with a few touches of softness.
"Well, all those soldiers haven't stopped chasing me," Luna pointed out to a group of snipers who were fleeing toward Jolene's vehicles.
"Since you helped me, I'll return the favor…" he gave a lopsided smile.
The boy walked slowly following the footsteps of the soldiers that were marked in the sand of this deserted place. He watched them carefully and noted that some of them had tortured him when he was inside their containment chamber.
"Who is he?" Luna now asked curiously.
"It's Ayden, he's one of us," Barret answered.
He stopped at a distance somewhat away from the snipers, glared hatefully ahead, the soft and attractive expression on his face changing as he vividly remembered his torture, raised his left hand and placed his two main fingers on his forehead, that only meant an stuff.
"It's them, right?" he asked Luna again.
She nodded her head.
"Fine," he sighed.
He turned to them and spoke with courage.
"Infinite water loop!"
A spring of water gushed from his feet and traveled swiftly toward them. Soon all that land was flooded while his eyes bulged with anger and resentment, that boy had locked all his captors in a loop. His angry expression changed, he became gentle again and smiled at everyone.
"They'll never get out of there," he thought.
Luna, Zev, Ronda and Kylen were speechless, they didn't want to imagine what it would be like to be inside a loop of water, despair could be worse but now Ayden was calling their attention, they had so many questions for him but they decided not to overwhelm him for the moment. When everything ceased, they began to board the helicopters, however, Zev approached Ocean to ask about Milo.
"My brother…?"
"Barret already put him in the helicopter, he'll be fine."
Zev was about to speak when he felt Evander's fist hit his face, it was something so sudden that even Ocean had been surprised.
The boy fell on his hip in great pain, one of his eyes closed and before anyone could say anything, Evander kissed Ocean in front of Zev without taking his eyes off him. He frowned as he kissed her in the most passionate way ever, he seemed annoyed and even jealous but with the intention of hurting Zev sentimentally.
"Don't listen to, Zev," his conscience said before he did something stupid, "act normal, don't indulge him."
Zev began to imagine things that he shouldn't, images of Evander seducing Ocean, caressing her, touching her and making her his in a way that he himself couldn't describe, he wanted to scream at him to let go, that he didn't deserve her, ran through his mind.
"Is everything okay?" Ocean interrupted, pulling both of them out of that strange duel.
"It was him!" Evander pointed out, approaching.
Zev stood up and walked very determined until they were face to face.
"He attacked us when they invaded the bunker, he hit you on the head," Evander said without stopping pointing at him.
Ocean couldn't believe it, she didn't want to believe it, someone like Zev wouldn't have the guts to do it but with the changeable attitude he had shown in recent days it could be a possibility.
"It wasn't me!" He said in his defense, putting his hands in front to push Evander away, "I wouldn't hurt Ocean, I wouldn't…"
"What kind of powers does being a traveler give you that you could knock us both out? I saw you."
Ocean was speechless. At that moment, Kylen came back for them, feeling a little tension but hiding it. The three boarded separate helicopters to avoid trouble. Evander looked tense, his blood boiled so Ocean rested his head on her chest to lighten his load, she believed him but it seemed strange to her that Zev acted like a traitor.
The four reinforcements accompanied by Ronda and Kylen were in the helicopter that was behind but the turbulence began, a group from the Community was still in the area and attacked them once more firing missiles to bring down the vehicle.
"Ronda, Kylen, keep driving, we'll take care of this," Barrett said.
They opened the hatch, Ayden and Barret jumped in to destroy those pesky soldiers while Ocean and Evander would take charge of defending the helicopter.
The water and the earth merged to create a mud that slowed down the attackers, but one of them managed to alter the movement of a propeller so that the helicopter began to fly in circles losing control. Ocean fired at the soldier who disrupted them while Evander suggested jumping out the hatch. Kylen contacted the helicopter ahead of them to wait for them.
It was already dark. After burying the soldiers under the mud and burning one alive, the vehicle was going to collapse so Kylen jumped in first, fearing the worst, but at the moment, Ayden made a movement with his hands creating something like a water with the water slide that would allow him to reach the other helicopter. Ronda immediately jumped, falling into Barret's arms, who raised the earth creating a path.
Finally it was Ocean and Evander's turn to leave the helicopter. She was going to use the fire to propel herself through the air but the vehicle jerked causing her to slip and fall from a great height, her body didn't respond but Evander was there to save her.
She thought she would crash on the hard desert but some arms delicately carried her.
"No matter who gets in our way, I'm never going to let you go," he pronounced confidently.
Through the air, Evander carried Ocean in his arms, flying with his companions, fire emanating from her that served as a light in the dark of night and from the helicopter in front, his companions Zev, Luna, Kylen and Milo looked at them impressed by the power that each possessed.
