His body was in a state of stasis and for years he had been placed in quarantine. He had been moved to many facilities. He seemed brain dead under simple tests, but when his brain and body was under more scrutinous scans he seemed to be in a type of hibernation. This caused him to be transferred to a medical research facility for biomimicry. Many of the normal effects of a coma-like state did not occur. His bones did not weaken as it seemed his body was recycling calcium. His heart-beat was lowered, his metabolism depressed. He breathed once a minute, his heart beat every 14 seconds. He was a medical marvel, and with a body temp of 4° his isolation chamber was called the ice cube.
Surrounding him were blaring alarms from machines and obnoxious dial tones. A group of hazmatted individuals came into his sterile tent. Shocked eyes behind masks, they looked at the young man that slowly rose like a zombie from the bed. This once dead man now seemed alive.
" Do I smell so bad that you all had to put suits on?" He chuckled. Looking at their faces he noticed that their eyes were popping out of their sockets. "Must have been some toxic stuff in that fire if they are so keen on not being exposed to it." He thought to himself. Until he was brought back to the present with a question.
" What's your name Ma'am"
" Elliot"
" Elliot?"
" My name is Elliot R. Kane, I live out in Friar county, the farmhouse with the silio."
" Not Talia?" The doctor asked through a speaker in his suit
" That's my sister." Elliot responded now a bit confused about this confrontation, " Wait did you say Ma'am?"
The doctor was looking down at his two files, one on Talia R. Kane, and the other on Elliot R. Kane. He was always confused as to the specifications to this case, He was given two files, one on a Talia R. Kane with a full medical suite of information, outlining in depth scans on each organ in her body.
Talia R. Kane
Age: 23
Blood type: AB
Heart weight: 8.7 oz, high Pulmonary dilation of aortic valve, right … etc.
Lung capacity: 6230ml … etc.
Meanwhile the other file contained a single page with a photo.

He was told by the last doctor on the case that he should not expect to be getting more information than this, and that they're meant to keep Elliot alive and if they need medical information to look at his twin, Talia's file. He did look into the file and notice some inconsistencies, omissions that wents beyond just a bad mortuary report, he could not stand for it. He one time took a blood sample from Elliot to do a genetic screen. He was surrounded by officers that took the vial of blood, later that week they gave him the blood sheet.

It was obviously incorrect, a lie, a falsehood. Though this doctor was a smart one. He is one that people should keep an eye on, though they never do, a slippery snake for sure.
" Elliot who did your transplants, the work is crude"
" I didn't think I'd been away from the gym for so long. My love of carbs had that much effect on my pecs Doc?" Elliot felt better by the second as his body adjusted to the cold of the room.
" Mr. Kane, I am going to need you to be a bit more serious so that we discover the best plan of care for your fastest recovery." The Doctor stated.
" It's Dr. Kane, Doc," Elliot immediately retorted, " My parents didn't spend so much money on an education not to see me get a few letters out of it."
" And what education was that Doctor Kane"
" Associate program my Junior and senior year of highschool in microbiology, bachelors of sciences in genetics and ecology, then a research based medical doctorate in Epigenetics" Elliot stated in a rehearsed manner with a sense of pride.
" While you're at it, why don't you tell me about how you did all that while stuck in an ice cube for 3 years. "
" I'm stuck in an ice cube?"
" Mr. Elliot Kane you have been in a hibernative state for 3 years under the watchful eye of dozens of physicians the world over. You were kept cold and on ice once we noticed it seemed to help your body from going into shock. For all intents and purposes you were a living cadaver for government study. For all the world knows you've been dead for three years. "
This was a turning and influential moment, a door that seems mundane but truly holds a multitude of decisions. Wonder if little Elliot knew that? Questions of how this story might have unfolded if they had known that Dr. Elliot R. Kane was more than a quick wit? Oh, little Elliot, I wish you had been more in this moment, less like yourself, and more like that wonderful father of yours.
" Nice. I guess I'd like a meal then we can talk during that Doc," Elliot hopped from the bed. To the shock of much of the medical staff he walked like a young man.
Elliot's eye analyzed the bay of which he was in, much to his surprise he was not in the hospital he expected. It was a smooth egg shell room without edges. Meticulously sterilized by a semi herbal smelling aroma that filled the room. He inhaled deeper and he guessed a thyme based antiseptic. He saw genetic machines he recognized. Older versions that are wired. His eagle-like eyes looked for the lab bench and scanned over the lab computers, looking at the ports. After his inspection he was much less anxious. Elliot deduced, " It's military, enough money to get a niche machine, but not the newest versions to avoid hacking capabilities of a wireless, web based computer."
" Well get me some food, or did you not take nutrition in medical school Dr. Zimmerman. If you fed your only patient with threats you wouldn't have a very healthy population." Elliot walked out of the room. Where? Not even he knew, he was more surprised no one had stopped him yet.
