As the room buzzes with excitement, fear, wonder, and more, the scientist steps up and says, "The project will be divided into 3 stages. The first stage is to establish a space station in orbit around the planet on the other side, which we have codenamed Aquarius. The name comes from satellite imaging on the other side, indicating that the trees on the planet appear blue. The construction of the space station on the other side is predicted to take one and a half years to complete, however to make it functional enough to being land exploration will occur earlier. Once the space station is sufficiently established, we will send down 3 ground teams to explore the planet, document its features, and gather data. Our primary objective will be to find the specific subject that C wishes for us to study, understand its importance for our survival, and ensure the planet is habitable."
Next, the Army man steps up and adds, "Now, we have no idea how dangerous the planet might be. While we know it has a breathable atmosphere and liquid water, the survivability remains uncertain. Therefore, we must establish extensive safety procedures to ensure the protection of both the Earth and Aquarius. It is crucial to prevent any contamination between the two worlds. We cannot afford any mishaps. Additionally, we must be prepared for the possibility of encountering a hostile local population, which is the main reason why I am here."
Colin listens intently, absorbing the gravity of the situation. The importance of the mission is now crystal clear to him. He realizes that he, along with everyone present, is about to embark on an extraordinary journey that will shape the future of humanity and our understanding of the universe.
The scientist continues, "To facilitate our mission, we have assembled a diverse and skilled team of professionals from various fields, each with their unique expertise. Collaboration and adaptability will be the keys to success. We will be making history together, and this will be a milestone in human space exploration. However, we must remain cautious and focused, as the stakes are high."
The Army man adds, "As you all know, the success of this project is not guaranteed, and challenges lie ahead. But we are prepared to face them head-on. Your safety and the safety of our planet are of utmost importance. We will do everything in our power to ensure a successful outcome."
The room falls silent as everyone takes in the gravity of the mission. The excitement is now mixed with a sense of responsibility and determination. This is the opportunity of a lifetime, and they all understand the significance of their roles.
As the presentation concludes, the leader of the ESPO steps forward once more. "We have chosen you all because of your expertise, dedication, and ability to work under pressure. You are the best of the best, and we have faith in your capabilities. In two weeks, we will begin preparations for the first stage of the project. You will receive detailed briefings and instructions as we progress."
The room erupts with applause as the reality of their mission sinks in. Colin feels a mix of emotions, from excitement and pride to a tinge of anxiety. He is thrilled to be a part of this groundbreaking endeavor, but the uncertainties also weigh heavily on his mind.
As the crowd starts to disperse, Colin exchanges glances with some of his future colleagues. They all share a sense of camaraderie and determination. The journey to Project Man in the Sky has begun, and Colin knows that the experiences awaiting him will be unlike anything he has ever known.
