Chapter 113 - Volume Hundred and Thirteen

Crap. We don't have enough time for all of us to run away, I can stand against this thing. I can buy time for my family to escape. " Run!, everyone run now. I will follow y'all later!.". I can hear the shuffling of feet while I stayed back. Moments went by the sounds of leafs crunching stopped, well at least they got away from this thing. Now my problem is how am I going to escape this thing. I put my shield up just in case this beast wants to fight, I'm no longer able to escape. The Bolf had close the distance between me and it. Well this be another test from God, I can distract this Bolf long enough for them to escape. I'm okay with being the decoy for those I care about. Well it time for the oldest rivalry off all time, man vs beast. This isn't the first time I've came across this type of animal. The problem is I didn't fight it back then, I do have knowledge of it. After years of watching them from far away I know that their main weapons are their feet, their speed. Even though they have the size of nine men. Their speed is of a hummingbird, the Bolf charged at me. I barely moved out of its way, it's nails clipped me. A piece of my shoulder is sliced off, with just one grazed my left should had been dislocated. I quickly slammed my dislocated shoulder into my shield hoping that it would pop back into socket. After several attempts the pop sound finally happened, this shield will be my line between life and death. With all of training with Adamsin, Autumn. If will be used for this moment. I drew my sword at the Bolf, that was foaming at the mouth. My will can overcome any obstacles that challenge me. " Oh. Lord give this poor sinner, the strength to preserve the challenge that you have given him. I hate to use my strength against your beautiful creation. In your holy name Amen!.". After my prayer, the Bolf charged me once again. The Bolf swung his arm again aiming for my chest. I ducked before any damage could be affected to me, while moving out of the way. My head hit the top part of the merchant. I tripped over a fallen branch, the Bolf slowly turned around. I'm trying my hardest to get up. My leg is stuck under something, I looked down at where my leg is at. While tripping over a fallen branch, my leg had gotten stuck into a decaying tree log. I struggled for my life to get my leg unstuck. My full attention was in my leg, I had made a grave mistake. How could I ever take my eyes off of the Bolf?!. The Bolf was coming for my life. The vibration of the ground was causing me to sweat an uncontrollably amount. As soon I look up there it was the Bolf staring at me with the merchant dangling from its mouth, this is a very terrifying sight to witness. I put my shield up to block his attack on me. The shield had done it's job the problem now is that I don't have the strength to push him off of me. His saliva was drenching the shield, all I could see was the head of the merchant peeking around my shield. My heart began to hurt after seeing this horrific scene. No man deserves to die like this man did, probably died to quickly for him to even scream. I can't think about that right now. I need to get my sword from my back side, the amount of pressure that is on the shield. Is causing me not to get my sword, after minutes of struggling to get my sword. I finally I get, but at the cost of breaking my shoulder. while my shoulder was piercing through my skin. I aim the sword where I had a general idea of where his heart should be. I have to time this perfectly though I only have one chance to do this, I slide the shield down. Once the shield slide down enough. I put all my effort into stabbing the Bolf, it pierced him. His rampage was ended. I tried rolling him over, I slide out from under his belly. It took me several minutes for me to stand up. I grabbed the torch that had fallen out of my hands after I done challenged the Bolf, gazing at the scene I was just involved with. Realizing that this animal was nothing but a freak of nature. The grey and brown fur, mixed with paws of bear, how could any one man be able to kill that thing. I reached down opening the mouth of the Bolf. To release the merchant who had been slayed by this beast, the merchant was probably around the same age as me. I pulled the merchant out of the mouth of the Bolf. Well the top half of the merchant was not out of the Bolf, while carrying him back to the carriage. The carriage was about two yards away from me. Carrying his top half was very annoying to do so, not cause of the blood. That has been leaking onto me. The amount of awkward weight, I don't know if I have the strength to carry both sides of him. I finally arrived at the carriage, struggled very much to get the other side of him. I took my shield off to use as a holder for his remains. Started walking in the direction of where my family went. Passing trees, nothing but trees. That is all that is in the woods, after I met up with my family. I have to bury the merchant. It's going to come to a shock to them to see him like this, I saw a light off in the distance.
