"Welcome home Y/n."
Y/n blinked, after a few seconds, she slightly blushed. It was amusing to Alhaitham, seeing Y/n in a flustered state. Alhaitham put on a black shirt, his hands were inside his pockets. "I thought my roommate was-" she was cut off by him. "Apparently, I want you to be roommate. And I don't want Kawa to be my roommate." Alhaitham grumbled. "You're the only one who's not obsessed with me. Well, some doesn't too. But specifically, I want you." Alhaitham added.
She stood there frozen in place, unable to speak anything. Y/n cleared her throat. "O...Okay." she calmed down from her flustered state, replacing it with a calm and unpredictable one. Alhaitham went to the kitchen, signaling her to get ready for dinner. Y/n followed him first before taking a shower. "You cook?" she asked. "Yes, I do. What do you think am I? an idiot?" he let out a small scoff, preparing the ingredients. She shrugged and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Few moments passed; she went out of the bathroom. Her face towel is around her neck, wearing a shirt and comfortable shorts. She stretched her body, sighing. Y/n swore that she smelled something tasty. She quickly went to the dining table, seeing plates of food. It was good for 2, and it was the exact amount of food that she wanted. Alhaitham looked at Y/n, her eyes glimmering in interest. "Amazed?" Alhaitham teased. Y/n crossed her arms. "N-No." she cleared her throat. "I'd admit that this is. . . delicious." she admitted, but there was so much more in her mind. They both sat down; "Thank you for the food." they said in unison.
The dinner was quiet, but not awkward or tense. It was calming like before. After they ate, Alhaitham ended up in the couch. And Y/n ending up in the armchair. Both of them were either playing or doing nothing in their seats, Alhaitham started to read his book. What a bookworm he is. He never changed. Y/n thought. She yawned quietly, shaking her head. "You'll unpack tomorrow?" Alhaitham asked, but still looking at his thick book of his. "Mhm." she responded. Y/n stood up from her armchair, and proceeded to go to her room. She looked at the clock, 11:00.
"'Night." she finally blurted out to Alhaitham. "'Night." he said it back.
— TIMESKIP, WEEKEND
Y/n was woken up by someone. She groaned in annoyance, slowly opening her eyes. The first thing she saw was Alhaitham. "What do you want?" her voice was soft, but not the tone she always used before. "You gotta see this." Suddenly, Alhaitham pulled Y/n to him, pulling her soft wrist to him. They both went outside, seeing a commotion. And there they were - holding each other's hands. Y/n saw 2 boys fighting outside. The other boy was unknown to her, but she quickly recognized the other boy. Suoh.
— PAST, GRADE 8
The girl pushed Y/n maniacally. "Haha! You're so weird!" She laughed. Y/n was on the verge of tears. The bullying went on for about 10 minutes, negative thoughts started to lurk over her. "Hey Hey!!" Suddenly, a boy punched the girl that was going to hurt Y/n again. He pointed out to the Professor. "Sir Mino, Y/n is getting bullied again!" Y/n looked over to the boy, and sighing in relief. She hugged him. "T-Thank you.."
The boy stood up, offering his hand to help her stand. "I'm Suoh. Nice to meet ya!" Suoh beamed a smile at her. Y/n seems to be speechless too, as she also beamed a smile. "I-I'm Y/n...!" She said, slightly nervous. "No need to be nervous around me." Y/n accepted his hand and stood up. As if time stopped, their smiles were an unforgettable moment.
— PRESENT
Y/n immedietly went down to the building, going to Suoh. "Suoh." The fight stopped, as it became silent. The only people were there are Alhaitham, Y/n, Suoh, and a boy. The other people were asleep, hopefully for them. "Y/n?" Suoh said softly, his face was bruised. But not as bad as the other boy. "Why are you both fighting early in the morning?" Alhaitham stepped in. Suoh glared at the boy. "He took my ice cream."
"Ehhhh?!" Y/n and Alhaitham exclaimed in unison. Y/n pinched Suoh's cheeks hard. "Ow, ow!" Suoh whined. "You're 16 and you act like a toddler." Y/n continued to pinch him and Suoh playfully yelped in pain by his childhood friend. Moments later, the boy apologized. Y/n and Alhaitham bowed on behalf of Suoh. His name is Toru, he's nice and polite,. While Suoh is childish but strong. Alhaitham analyzed Suoh quietly, as Y/n yawned. "Why am I even here..." she sighed, bonking Suoh's head once more. "You should talk it out, not fight it." she added. Alhaitham nodded in agreement.
"Okay, Okay..." Suoh sighed in defeat, his whole face and body completely changed. "Anyways, have you both seen Kaveh?" He asked. "No. He's probably in the school park." Alhaitham said. "Alright, thanks bro." Suoh patted Alhaitham's shoulder, as he waved goodbye. Y/n sighed, feeling sleepy. "I want to sleep but I don't want to go up..." she yawned, looking like she was about to pass out on the ground
Y/n looked at Alhaitham, who is in deep thought again. "Come on. Let's go." Alhaitham guided her to their dorm, by carrying her. She said said nothing, because she was fast asleep. Alhaitham on the other hand, looks like he does not mind. But deep inside, he's questioning himself on why he is carrying her. As they arrived, Alhaitham gently placed the sleeping girl on her bed. He looked at her for a while, his eyes seemed to be glued to her presence. He shook his head and left silently.
For a few hours, Y/n woke up. She yawned and rubbed her eyes. She stood up, going to the door seeing Alhaitham reading his book. It seems like he's at the last page, so she didn't disturb his focus on his precious book. Y/n went to the kitchen, eating a piece of bread with cold milk. Unlike her, Alhaitham drinks hot coffee and hasbrowns or something. Alhaitham closed his book, staring at the tired girl. "You're still sleepy?" He asked, clearing his throat.
"Not really." She took a sip on her milk, leaning on the counter. "Just tired." She added. "Mhm. I see." Alhaitham put his focus on the TV, which was still off. He turned on the TV, watching the morning news. Y/n was done eating, so she was curious about the news today. She silently walked to the couch beside Alhaitham. "Um... thanks for carrying me earlier."
Alhaitham stayed quiet. "I didn't carry you." He lied, he doesn't want to admit it at all. Y/n was shocked, and slightly blushed in embarrassment. She thought it was just probably a delusion, but in reality, he did carry her. He cleared his throat. "Sorry." Y/n sighed in embarrassment, trying to hide the fact she's embarrassed. Alhaitham let out a small smile at her, making Y/n feel something in her stomach. Y/n thoughts were blank. He never smiles in front of everyone, even when they were kids. Y/n thought of something as she felt something fluttering all over her body.
Is this what you call butterflies in your stomach?
