[Ridge]
"You're scarier than you look, Sir Knight." Sileena quirks an eyebrow. Her face is rather stony but I can tell she's impressed.
"Hey, wait- isn't this a bit..." Tristan's smile is tugged to the side nervously. Two Mercenaries are holding either one of her arms, just in case she tries to get away.
"Let's bring your friend out here. Maybe if he sees this he'll realize you can protect yourself." Sileena snorts, ignoring Tristan's concerned pleas.
I hesitate. I know I need to see him soon, that I want to see him soon, but I'm nervous too. What will he do when he sees how my leg turned out?
It's not a pretty sight. I'll definitely have some nasty scaring, and I'll have to hope nothing gets infected. Maybe I should've asked more about that Puffin powder or whatever it was before I threw it away- no. Tristan could have been lying, how would a looter who moves individually like that get their hands on something so valuable?
"Sure." I nod my head slowly and Sileena snaps her fingers. Several Mercenaries immediately snap into action, going to retrieve Kadeeth from the brig.
Raforn tugs on my sleeve from beside me. He's still supporting me, that must hurt. I attempt to take my weight off of him and move to lean on the railing, but I back up into something much taller and faster than a wooden bar.
I turn my head and find myself looking up at the green eyes of a certain lunatic I know.
He hooks his arm around my waist, replacing Raforn's support, "I heard we're killing the looter." He says casually, almost creepily calm. Then he looks up at the sky like he's thinking really hard before he seems to realize that he's missing something. A satisfied smile demanding blood creeps onto his eerily still face.
"Kade!" I say, startled.
He looks back down at me, lifting me up more so most of my weight is on him, "Miss me?" I shove him a bit, not enough to do any damage to either of us, considering he could drop me and his shoulders are still healing.
"Not a chance." I reach up and grab his ear, yanking his face down to my level, "We'll talk later. That's a promise."
"Right." He grits out while following the motion of my hand with his head to avoid stretching his ear. He laughs when I let go, and even I start to smile. Then Tristan clears her throat.
We all turn our attention disappointedly back to her, "What's with the rope?" Kadeeth asks.
He's referring to the rope tied around both of Tristan's ankles and then connected to the railing of the boat. She smiles at him and looks like she's about to say something to explain and undoubtedly provoke him as well.
"You'll have to find out later." Sileena reappears on deck, she looks at Kadeeth with obvious distaste, "The reception from Marquess Nessmore has arrived. So as much as I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out, it'll have to wait until we're done with our business here." She spares another glance at Kadeeth, "Now, I wouldn't mind putting you back in your cage while we take care of this, but you are still technically a client of ours.
"So since your party is heading this mission, we won't stop you from joining us at the Nessmore estate. However, as soon as we return, and Tristan is dealt with, you will be back in the brig until we can figure something out to better...control you."
Kadeeth's grip on me subconsciously tightens a bit, but he responds with his usual playfulness. It's as if he wants to give no indication of what happened the night of Tristan's attack.
Well that's not new, always the best at avoidance, huh?
