The door of the room swung open . A seven feet tall rakshasa guard fully clad in a bronze like metal armor entered the room . The towering guard looked at the blood puddle on the room floor and as if expecting to see a lying dead body, looked across the room.
A glint of surprise showed in the cruel eyes of the council guard when his eyes met Kaiser's who was now standing at one corner of the room where the jade flagon was kept .
"Come out of the room , you have been summoned " the guard said to Kaiser .
Kei slowly moved towards the door with his hands behind his back hiding a sharp jade piece inside his fingerless gloves. "If push comes to shove I will slit as many throats as I can before dying ".
As Kei came out from the room, he saw the encompassing crowd and felt as if he was on an island all alone surrounded by a sea of rakshasas on all sides . He calmed his nerves and moved forward . It was his first time seeing humanoid beings face to face and it felt strangely eerie .
"Go and stand on the dais" the guard behind him ordered .
As Kei stood on the circular dais, it floated above and came to a halt at the top of the 5th floor as all eyes at the amphitheater fixed in on him.
A medium sized Rakshasa came into view standing on the dais with an approximate height of 5 feet 10 inches . His skin was of a licorice (light black) color and was covered with red stripes extending from his wrist all the way to his shoulders and from his feet up to his waist in a circular motion like pattern .
It seemed as if the red color was minutely tattooed on his body . He had a slight muscular body frame complimenting his medium stature , the added muscles on his arms and legs moved in a rhythmic undercurrent ,as Kei moved, signifying his innate strength .
His (Kaiser's) hair color which was originally red had turned into a beige white color severely contrasting with the color of his skin .
All were shocked upon seeing the transformation specially the nobles of his mother's family. It seemed impossible for them to think that Kaiser could have awakened his bloodline being born to a human male , the same thought dwelled in the minds of all others .
The high priests were also surprised , their surprise came more from the fact that Kaiser's skin color was not monocoloured as was seen in general in other rakshasa's . The red stripes on his licorice-colored skin were something that they had never seen before ,it was bizarre , something which was unheard or unseen in the history of the true awakening ritual.
Following the surprised gazes of the spectators, Kei also looked at his body and was surprised to see the stark changes . It was completely different from Kaiser's body of what he had seen in his memories .
Noticing the sudden silence at the amphitheater , Lymic spoke aloud " Kaiser , we see that you have awakened your bloodline and have undergone a drastic change . Although it surprises us how someone like you could have awakened the beast bloodline we will follow with the rules for now and ask you to demonstrate your claws and canines "
Kei looked at his hands , his reversed palms facing towards him . It was something which he would need to get used to, Kei thought . Kei waved his hands hoping the claws to come out, but nothing happened .
He closed his fist mentally imaging claws coming out but still nothing happened . He then opened his mouth and put his fingers to check if his canines had enlarged but they were still the normal sized .
" I cannot show it , my canines and claws are still in normal shape " Kei shouted .
"Filthy Human spawn…it must be some spell….kill this imposter…he does not belong amongst us " numerous voices could be heard from the audience, all angry and scornful ,having been deprived of the outcome they were expecting .
"Silence !
Kaiser, we will give you a chance to come clean . We know that you were meant to be thrown in the screaming sea if you could not awaken your bloodline . Have you used any spell any charm to alter your appearance to avoid your ending ?
If so, tell the truth now and we will see that you have a quick death . If we find out that you are lying , which we will surely do, we will punish you in such a way that death will be the only thing you will be begging for " Lymic' s voice echoed .
"Shit, I don't even know what to say . What spell ? What charm ? I am damned " Kei thought.
