Stuart finally stopped drinking. After all, Kevin told him to take good care of himself. He did not want to disappoint. So he stood up, albeit with much difficulty since he was so drunk. He had sent everyone out of his VIP room since he wanted to be alone and now no one was here to help him. He did not mind though.
He got out of the room and climbed down the stairs. Stuart winced at how loud the bar was. He was in a soundproof VIP room so he heard nothing of those shouts and screams but this was a bar. What else did he expect?
As his feet reached the last step, he heard a familiar shout and his head snapped in the direction. Through his hazy vision, He saw a young boy, or man, who looked to be in his early twenties. The…guy was cheering loudly, not caring about the people around him. He was with a group of people who Stuart assumed to be his friends. They were equally shouting and charging for God knows what.
But that was not what Stuart found familiar. That guy's shouts sounded the same as Kevin's. Kevin may look calm and innocent on the outside, but he was nothing of that. His screams could bring down an entire building.
And also, the guy's wardrobe. It was exactly like Kevin's. The same formal attire that looked out of place in a bar. That was Kevin. The only difference was that, while Kevin had blonde hair, this guy had black hair.
But Stuart could not see that. His drunken gaze only saw Kevin and no one else. He was certain that that guy was Kevin. So despite the crowd of bodies scattered on the dance floor, the drunk man made his way towards the guy.
On the other side of the bar, a young man in his twenties, along with his friends, was cheering loudly. They had just come back from work and this was the only thing they liked doing aside from working. It was also a Friday night so they just had to party.
Berry, under the influence of alcohol, was screaming. His screams could be heard throughout the bar even though loud music was blaring in the background. With his other arm and with the chants of his friends beside him, he took his glass and downed the content in one single swig.
He was yet to take another gulp from the bottle when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He thought it was one of his friends, so being a wild man, he raised the bottle and overturned the contents on the person.
Stuart, who had just been bathed in alcohol, stared at Berry in shock. The alcohol that was poured on him did nothing to clear his muddled head. If anything, it only made him worse.
He thought he saw Kevin. The person standing in front of him was Kevin. The same smell, pale skin, bright eyes… It was Kevin.
"Oh sorry, man. I did not see you there". Berry turned around and apologized with an embarrassed laugh. Stuart had become worse. Even the voice and laugh sounded the same. It was indeed Kevin.
Berry was still in the middle of apologizing to the stranger when he was suddenly pulled into a tight hug. His eyes grew wide in shock and his breath hitched. He did not know who this man was or why he was hugging him but from the way the man's shoulder was shaking, his breathing uneven and his muffled sobs.
He knew the man was crying and Berry did not have the heart to push him away so he hugged him back and began to pat his back soothingly. "There, there, cry all you want". Berry said.
He deduced that the guy must be sad and heartbroken. That was the only reason he would come to a bar, get drunk and cry on his chest. So Berry kept patting his back and rubbing his hair. His friends were too busy having fun so they did not notice it.
Stuart's hug tightened as he felt 'Kevin' rubbing his back and hair. He was so sure that it was Kevin. No one could make him believe that this was not Kevin.
"Kev… Is it you?" Stuart muttered. He just wanted to be sure.
"Yes. It's me. I am here, so stop crying, alright?" Berry responded. He figured that it would do no harm to lie to the man and make him stop crying but he was completely wrong.
Immediately he said that Stuart raised his head and pressed a kiss on Berry's cheek. Berry was shocked, no doubt but he smiled. It was just a kiss on the cheek, there was no problem with that. In fact, he felt bad for the man. Maybe Kev is his ex-girlfriend or something like that and maybe Berry looked a bit like Kev, so he mistook him for his ex…
His thoughts were interrupted when he felt the man's lips on his. If Berry was not shocked before, he definitely was now. The stranger's lips moved against his slowly and Berry felt dizzy.
Before he could think about his action, he pushed the stranger away and wiped his lips with the back of his hand. Stuart fell with a loud thud which attracted a lot of people, Berry's friends especially. They all gathered around Stuart and began asking a lot of questions.
Overwhelmed by the amount of eyes on him, Stuart drew his knees to his chest and hugged himself. He looked so pitiful that Berry felt his heart tighten. He began to feel guilty for pushing the man away. He should have just let the man kiss him. For all he knew, they were drunk and may forget this when they woke up tomorrow.
Of course, this was just Berry's drunken thoughts but he truly felt pity for the stranger, so he pushed everyone away and hugged Stuart who was still hugging himself on the floor.
This little action of Berry was like a glimmer of light in Stuart's eyes. He hugged Kevin back, tighter than ever and refused to let him go.
There was no way he was letting Kevin go after this. There was no way he would let Kevin disappear and leave him again.
There was just no way.
