"You're handling this better than I thought," Stuart said as he lit up the scented candles around the room. Berry silently lay on the bed, watching his boyfriend move around the room, loving how the amber glow of the candles accentuated Stuart's perfect face. He knew what Stuart meant with what he said but pretended not to.
"What do you mean?" he responded, turning on his side to look away from Stuart lest he gives himself away. He heard the soft pats of Stuart's feet hitting the soft rug around their bed, and he knew that Stuart was approaching, yet he refused to turn around. He was greatly distressed, but as much as possible, he tried to hide it, but Stuart, who could read him like a book, noticed it.
