Chapter 2
Norman leaned against the door of his apartment, trying to catch snippets of the conversation still going on between Zatara and Zatanna. "I did!" he exclaimed to himself, a mix of excitement and nervousness bubbling within him. "I kissed Zatanna," he admitted with a smile blooming on his face. Standing like a statue for quite a while, he finally slapped his cheeks lightly, trying to snap himself out of his daze. "Get it together, man," he thought, trying to collect his thoughts.
His stomach growled, reminding him of his hunger, but his body was torn between the need to eat and the overwhelming fatigue from the day. "Hmm, such a dilemma—sleep or eat?" he mumbled to himself, wrestling with his decision. In the end, his growling stomach won, and he decided to make himself a quick sandwich, quickly wolfing it down.
Still tired, Norman dragged his body to the bathroom, deciding to take a quick shower to freshen up. Emerging from the shower with just a towel around his waist, he collapsed onto his bed, the exhaustion taking over. Within moments, he slipped into a deep sleep.
After what felt like an eternity, Norman opened his eyes again, but instead of the familiar comfort of his room, he found himself surrounded by complete darkness, with only a fluorescent light glowing on the ceiling. Bewildered, he sat up, his hands touching the rough texture of the cave bed. "What am I wearing?" he asked himself, feeling the strange cloth covering his body. "Sort of a monk robe," he muttered, trying to make sense of the situation.
Confused and disoriented, Norman looked around, trying to figure out where he was. To his surprise, a floating scroll suddenly appeared, bearing text that seemed to explain his surroundings.
[ Hello! If you are here, that means you are ready. Ready to embark on an immortal journey? The cave you're in is called the Spirit Stone Cave. Well, it would have been more appropriate to call it the dimensional cave. You see, these caves or catacombs allow you to find treasures, such as a sword that can be pulled out from your forehead and kill beings with a thought, or even an immortal fruit. It all depends on luck, so all you have to do is use the pickaxe to dig your way forward, but you can only dig forward anyway. Anyways. As the name of the cave suggests, it's a cave that's mostly composed of spirit stones, which is a condensed spiritual energy, which you can use to grow stronger. It's so strong that it defies anything you know, but what is the point of abundant spirit energy if you don't know how to use it? So, you will be provided with the knowledge on how to cultivate, and all you have to do is, well, grow stronger. In return, you will be partaking in a war, a cosmic war, when you reach the limit of cultivation, so yeah, good luck.
PS: you can only stay in the cave for about 3 hours so, good luck ]
Norman scoffed as he read the floating scroll. "Did I get kidnapped? Is this a prank?" he muttered, trying to rationalise the bizarre situation. However, his doubts were quickly interrupted when a pickaxe suddenly materialised before him, startling him. He waited for any explanation or punchline, but nothing happened. "Maybe I am dreaming?" he reasoned, trying to make sense of the surreal experience.
To his surprise, another floating scroll appeared, providing him with information about himself.
[ Name: Norman Bell ]
[ Yuan-Qi: 0 ]
[ Cultivation-Realm: Stage 3 (95%): to progress through the next stage, continue to physical exercise and stretch the limits of your body, reaching the Olympic-level physique. ]
As Norman read the scroll, his scepticism began to wane, and a glimmer of curiosity sparked within him. "What if the scroll, or whoever wrote it, wasn't lying?" he pondered, his mind grappling with the idea.
Norman examined the pickaxe in his hands, turning it over to see if there was anything unusual about it, anything that could prove his theory wrong. "Hmm, my, I am in one of those lucid dreams," he suggested, his mind desperately searching for an explanation. "But how did I get in here anyway?" he wondered aloud, his thoughts interrupted by a sudden surge of information flooding his mind. It felt as if someone or something had struck his head, and now piles of knowledge about cultivation realms and how to progress were vividly present.
As the information settled in his mind, Norman's perception of the world shattered. "This is insane," he muttered, his thoughts swirling in confusion. He sat down on the cold cave floor, feeling the rough texture beneath him. His attention was drawn to the floating scroll beside him, and he couldn't help but read its contents.
"Stage 3," he muttered, his excitement building. "I'm at 95%. Just 5% more and I'll reach the 4th stage, where I should be able to sense the world's energy." The implanted knowledge was already affecting him, stirring a mix of wonder and determination.
"That is it!" Norman exclaimed, his voice echoing through the cave. "The only way to verify this knowledge is by reaching the 4th stage. If I can truly sense the world's energy then..." He paused, marvelling at the possibilities that lay ahead.
"Anyways, if there's a chance of finding artefacts or fruits, then I better get going," he thought, getting up from his spot with the pickaxe in hand. "If I have three hours, it's better to go treasure hunting."

just to verify, norman has all the knowledge of all the cultivation stages, fruits, all the knowledge necessary to continue his journey as a cultivator but doesnt mean he has perfect recall. so, most of the information are already filtered by his mind.
