Relations with the Kingdoms
Atlas: Strained
Relations between Pyrencia and Atlas have been strained since the Great War. Territorial and ideological disputes have created mutual distrust between the two kingdoms. Due to this tension, there is no active trade between the nations. Borders are closely monitored, and diplomatic interactions are limited. Nevertheless, indirect communications take place through international channels to maintain a minimal level of contact between the two powers.
Mistral: Neutral
Relations between Pyrencia and Mistral are relatively neutral. The two kingdoms do not engage in direct conflicts, but there is limited active trade between them due to Pyrencia's isolationist policies. The kingdom of Mistral, on the other hand, maintains more active commercial relations with other kingdoms, but Pyrencia's demand for foreign goods is limited, as they prefer to produce most goods locally.
Vale: Neutral, but Positive
Pyrencia maintains neutral but positive relations with the kingdom of Vale. While there are no direct conflicts between the two nations, they also do not have very active commercial relations due to Pyrencia's self-sufficiency policy. However, diplomatic exchanges occur at moderate levels, allowing for some level of mutual understanding and cooperation in certain areas.
Vacuo: Strained
Relations with Vacuo are strained, primarily due to the lawlessness of the desert kingdom. Pyrencia does not maintain official relations with Vacuo, as the kingdom is known for its lack of formal government structure and more permissive laws. Borders between the two nations are strictly controlled to prevent infiltration by undesirable groups. This mistrust towards Vacuo has also led to a policy of restricting travel to the region.
Vytal Festival
For the past three years, Pyrencia has participated in the prestigious Vytal Festival, an international event where teams of Huntsmen and Huntresses from different kingdoms compete in a combat tournament. Pyrencia sends two teams of selected cadets to represent their kingdom in this event. However, Pyrencia refuses to host the Festival on their territory. This decision is mainly due to persistent paranoia regarding security and foreign intrusion on their soil, preferring to focus on their own representation and competition during the tournament.
Author's Note:
Pyrencia's international relations reflect its vigilant attitude towards other kingdoms. As an isolationist nation, it prioritizes self-sufficiency and the protection of its borders. However, participation in the Vytal Festival shows a willingness to engage in international events while maintaining diplomatic distance. The paranoia surrounding the arrival of foreigners on their territory speaks to Pyrencia's deep distrust of the outside world.
