Wei began arranging workers for the construction. The new house plan was accepted by Prime Minister as well who allowed to break the wall and have a gate foe reflection mansion. The construction workers came and began work on the boundary wall. It was broken at two places. One was for the main gate and the other was for the service gate close to kitchen. And a back entry for stables. The main gate passage was left broken and open for easy access for bringing construction material, back and forth. They also began constructing the kitchen and the storeroom area. The kitchen and storage space took 2 weeks to be done, while stable was erected in three days. Stone flooring were placed in the main courtyard. The back gate and the service gate were also finished off. The main gate was done last.
Now what was left was beautification of the house. The gardeners were called to plant flower beds. From the main gate to the moon gate the passage had stone path, parallel to its both side grass and small flowering plants and a pond was also made. The garden space from moon gate to the reflection mansion, was bedded with several flowers. Bedrooms, main hall, study room only the furnishing was done and the roof tiles were also maintains and fixed.
Reflection mansion was now done after one month and one week. The main gate was a spectacle. Wei designed it so to give it justice to the name. Reflection mansion was the punishment mansion for the Xu family members, she decided not to change the name of the mansion and keep it as it is. But she made a witty remark out of it. She made it into a mirage of self. The gate had the name on top and the entrance door post had polished bronze mirrors on three side. On both the parallel walls and the ceiling, so when one enters the space there are reflected from three sides. This bronze mirror was borders by decorative stone tiles on the outside of the wall. From the main gate a passage of grass and flowers lead the way to a pond in the centre, and a continuation of the passage to the conjoining entry to Xu mansion. The pond was in circle to mimic the moon gate on the ground, with plastered walls, so the water in the pond does not get murky with the soil. And very cleverly Wei designed this entrance. She had designed to place stepping stones in the pond half above the water, to make it look like one walking directly on water. And the mansion name reflection was written slipped. So one hand to see the clear reflection on the water to read the name on the plaque correctly.
Once entered from through the moon gate, a long passage of beautifully curated gardens, with flowers, and a cherry blossom tree. The reflection palace gallery had a table on the right side and a causal sit out space on the eft side. Once entered the main hall, there is a round table in the centre of the four pillars. On the right side of the wall where the study table is, Wei painted the wall. Instead of pinning a painting there she just directly painted the wall in a green scenic beauty, of the forest. On the left side wall she painted the riverine blue with cloudy mountains. There were two flower pots on each side of the two doors in the main hall. The main hall ceiling had vertical fabric falling ceiling to the ground at different heights. Out the main hall into the corridor to the right side is the study room. There new tall shelfs were placed in the middle of the room, on two sides, to give a elongating feel to the room. On the front facing side it contains all books, and other trinkets and of the back facing side a board is placed to hang all of General's weaponry in display. The long fabric from the ceiling to ground was placed here, of dyed black on white fabric giving a mystic feel. The painting the Wei had painted of the lotus, Fei had pinned it to the wall, facing opposite to the study table and chair. Due to the study room, Wei's room was smaller in size compared to General's room which was of the full length. New curtains and ceramics were placed in the bed rooms. More storage cabinets were added in the servants quarters.
Main courtyard had decorative stone floorings, with four stone lanterns on each side of the two staircases. The table with the pit was still placed here with six chairs. From the servants quarters, the corridor leads to the newly build kitchen space. The kitchen space has three stoves, racks of ingredients and utensils; and two tables with chairs. Beside the kitchen are two store rooms, one was stirring old furniture and equipments. And the other storage was for food and also an underground cold storage. Stepping down from the kitchen corridor to the right, was a deck filled with firewood and a ash pit with blacked water heating utensil. And close to it, is the laundry space, both of which was now shedded. On the left side of the kitchen corridor was the service door. The stable was at the extreme back of the refection mansion plot. A wooden structure was made to house four horses, with space to store hay and a space for parking a carriage too. It gate was the south facing end big enough for a horse draw carriage to pass through.
Wei had planned everything throughly for the house. And she was very meticulous in spending General's finance on the house. She tired to not decorate much with urn and lavish furniture. Only the necessity was brought. Therefore for decor Wei painted the walls in the main hall herself to replace a luxury painting and to dyed the fabric decor in the main hall and in the study herself as well. This renovation of the mansions clears up the rumours of Xu family purposefully forced the destitute to live in the side annex. Reflection mansion was now in par with Generals status, as the defender of the nation.
