Saturday, August 8th.
Eevee was in a sullen mood today.
She didn't sleep in Luke's bed but instead curled up in the cat litter with her back turned to Luke.
Luke pondered for a moment. It was probably because Haunter had received the Toxic Orb, but Eevee hadn't received a present.
"Sorry, Eevee, if it's too cheap," Luke muttered. "Once I have more money, I'll get you a present."
Without Eevee in his arms, Luke felt like something was missing. Just a few days ago, he had bought a discounted head massager that was also known as the "soul extractor." It resembled an octopus and could be worn on the head. The seller had mentioned it could also be used by Meowth, so Luke figured Eevee would benefit from it as well.
Quietly approaching the cat litter, Luke swiftly lifted Eevee by the nape of its neck. The little Pokémon dangled its short legs helplessly and suddenly blushed.
"Vui~ !!ヽ(#`Д´)ノ"
With a smile, Luke softly stroked Eevee's soft fur. "Alright, I'll get you a present next time. Don't be mad."
"Ei… vui~."
Seeing that Eevee had stopped resisting, Luke placed the "octopus" on the little Pokémon's head.
"Vui~?!"
Eevee's expression was a mixture of curiosity and bewilderment. It shivered, an unusual reaction for it, and began rubbing Luke's palm with its short legs, eyes squinting in apparent contentment.
Luke couldn't help but find this strange. Was it really that comfortable? Just a moment ago, Eevee had rolled its eyes in disdain!
"Vui~!♪(´∇`*)" Eevee issued a soft growl, seemingly enjoying the sensation.
Luke looked at the "octopus" in his hand and then at the scroll wheel in the living room, nodding with satisfaction.
+1 to Eevee's treasure items!
...
Although Haunter loved the Toxic Orb, Luke strictly forbade it from training alone. Haunter would only take out the Toxic Orb occasionally to lick it with its scarlet tongue.
"Jie jie~ (*⊙~⊙)"
This Toxic Orb wasn't round at all. Lick, lick!
Squirtle withdrew into its fish tank, blowing out bubbles.
Luke felt a wave of nostalgia. It would be wonderful if every day could be as peaceful as this!
Checking the ORAS platform data, Luke estimated that he would receive about 1 million by the end of the month. However, it still wouldn't be enough to buy a present for Eevee.
"We'll have to continue the livestream," Luke muttered. "If I don't take on a few more jobs, I won't be able to afford these little guys."
Hugging Eevee close to his chest, Luke reluctantly turned on the camera to start the day's livestream.
As soon as the broadcast began, the chat room was flooded with comments.
"Class is in session!"
"Teacher Luke, the game you made is really fun!"
"I've been a fan for ten years, and Teacher Luke's games are always enjoyable."
"Thanks to the plane, 'a sliding shovel solves Centero'."
Teacher Luke smiled and said, "Today, I won't explain the single-player mode. Instead, I'll show you a Doubles Battle with an iron-clad lineup."
"???!"
"I hope the opponent is up for the challenge."
"You can teach me, and you'll definitely win!"
Luke opened the team editor and added Rhyperior to the team. "Today, we're going to play the Space Focused team."
He explained, "Space Focused refers to the use of Gravity to suppress opponent Pokémon in the Trick Room, which increases the accuracy of moves like Hypnosis. Of course, if you don't consider Gravity and just use Trick Room, Rhyperior becomes the peak damage dealer..."
A series of question marks filled the chat.
"I don't really understand what you're saying, but it sounds pretty complicated!"
"Damn, isn't this the same strategy Viridian Gym uses?"
"Have you been defeated by that Rhyperior too?"
"Viridian Gym is ridiculous. It's run by a former Champion who retired and became a Gym Leader. Isn't that cheating?!"
Luke gazed up at the sky. The Kanto Alliance was truly a challenging place.
"Thanks for the rocket, 'Teacher Luke's Guide to Viridian Gym,'" Luke read aloud, then paused.
Wasn't this too much? Giving away a guide for free... Wouldn't he get blacklisted by Blue, who was known for being overly competitive?
"Uh, it's complicated if you don't understand," Luke coughed lightly. "But Viridian Gym's signature move should be Alakazam."
"If it's just a test, you can probably pass Alakazam," he added with a smile.
The chat exploded.
"Even though I don't get it, it sounds difficult to deal with!"
"Damn, it seems like Viridian Gym uses this strategy!"
"Have you already been defeated by that Rhyperior?"
"Viridian Gym is ridiculous. They let a retired Champion become the Gym Leader. Isn't that cheating?!"
Luke sighed. "Well, I did learn a lot. Let's go challenge Blue!"
"Don't do it! His methods are brutal!"
Luke smiled. "For those of you who want to challenge Viridian Gym, use Present more. it might be able to help you."
"???"
"Never seen someone so shameless!"
"The last time Teacher Luke claimed to be dating Cynthia, I couldn't stop laughing!"
Teacher Luke raised an eyebrow in response.
"I'm telling the truth, and you still don't believe me!"
"Let's get back to business. This is a doubles lineup, and the commands will be a bit more complex."
Luke opted for the classic Space Focused team.
In this Doubles Battle with a choice of four out of six Pokémon, his team consisted of Dusclops, Torkoal, Rhyperior, Butterfree, Indeedee, and Hatterene.
In an alternate universe, this Space Focused team was known for its simplicity and straightforwardness. There was even a saying that "even my grandma could reach Master Rank with this lineup."
However, in real-time battles, the complexity of giving commands increased exponentially. Even Luke, despite his experience, wasn't entirely confident using the Space Focused team effortlessly.
Nonetheless, Luke was also preparing for the college league at Magic City University, where the Space Tactics team was considered a formidable contender. This detailed tutorial would undoubtedly benefit the players at Magic University greatly.
While gently stroking Eevee's head, Luke clicked on the matchmaking interface.
"Vui~!" Eevee waved its tiny paw, expressing its discontent. But upon seeing Luke's unwavering focus, Eevee pouted and fell silent.
"Vui~. (○`3′○)"
The matchmaking interface spun, and the opponent's lineup appeared first:
Alakazam, Mr. Mime, Wobbuffet, Gothitelle, Hatterene, and Indeedee.
"My, oh my, this is going to be interesting..."
Luke wore a perplexed expression.
Facing this lineup, Destiny Bond with Shadow Tag was indeed a formidable challenge, especially for the Space Focused team.
"The opponent's lineup is quite tricky!"
"They have Follow Me too; it's getting dirtier!"
Luke nodded in agreement.
"Indeedee paired with Hatterene... a classic combination."
"By the way, let me explain that Hatterene has the Ability Trait 'Magic Bounce,' so Sleep Powder won't work on it anymore."
"However, Rhyperior's Rock Slide still has a strong deterrent effect."
The chat was filled with comments.
"Come on, Teacher Luke, your Rock Slide won't hit anything!"
"Teacher Luke, you don't even have Rock Slide in your moveset!"
Luke chuckled coldly.
"I refuse to believe that even with Gravity and Trick Room, Rock Slide can still miss!"
The virtual character materialized, glanced at the opposing team's image, and Luke was left in awe.
"Damn, the opponent looks really cute!"
With her long, flowing black hair, bangs that framed her forehead, slender figure, and red top, she exuded an air of cuteness.
The live chat was abuzz with excitement.
"Teacher Luke even got a movie star opponent!"
"Is this Sabrina's younger sister? The Gym Leader of Saffron City?"
"Yes, she's been in a recent movie release!"
Luke found himself in an amusing predicament.
In the world of "Black and White 2," Sabrina had ventured into the film industry and became a celebrity in a major movie. She had traded her waist-length black hair for a shoulder-length blue bob and developed a livelier personality.
In this world, Sabrina had starred in numerous movies, but Luke found the image of the stoic, long-haired, and icy Sabrina the most appealing.
For some reason, seeing her like this made Luke feel more relaxed. He chuckled and declared, "I'm going for an all-out battle!"
