Chapter 18 - 2nd volume prologue

The morning sun seeped through the window, and the peaceful chirping of birds lulled our hero. It was a beautiful Saturday, and as always, he wanted to sleep in for as long as possible. To be precise, it was no longer quite morning, as the clock's hand had recently passed noon, but Krito wasn't particularly concerned about that. He planned to sleep for another hour and then head to the scheduled meeting with the somewhat quarrelsome Guild Master, whom he had joined yesterday. However, someone had a different opinion on the matter.

Krito almost jumped to the ceiling when the window frame shattered with a crack, leaving an impressively sized hole in the opposite wall. Gathering his courage, the young man cautiously approached the breach, which was once a window, and peered outside, expecting to see anything from an army of dragons. Instead, there stood a beautiful girl in a golden uniform with hair of the same color, her fists resting on her hips, and sparks seemed ready to fly from her eyes.

"Tsk, I'd rather it were dragons," Krito muttered quietly.

"How much longer do you intend to doze off!?" the girl scolded sternly, causing her face to take on a rather comical expression.

"But it's still early..." Krito tried to justify himself, doing his best to suppress a smile.

"It's already noon, and today we were supposed to gear up for the guild," Katrina was adamant. "Besides, we need to choose a building for our base." Her voice trembled slightly on the last phrase, but the sleepy youth didn't pay attention to it.

"Well, for me, it's still morning."

"You're my subordinate now, which means you'll wake up according to my schedule, or you'll turn into a handful of smoldering ashes faster than you can yawn!"

"Well, if you were human, let me sleep a little longer."

"Hmm, you want to sleep a little longer, huh?" With these words, several electric sparks crackled in Katrina's hand.

"Okay, okay, I got it. I'm getting up," Krito sighed in resignation.

The peaceful days were over. In Katrina's view, the Deputy GM was somewhat like a personal slave, and her word was an order that couldn't be discussed.
