'It hurts, my body....'
'Someone, anyone, help.... help me'
Xu Nian woke up frantically covered in cold sweat. It was midnight. He managed to do a few movements that his body was capable of that was sitting up and laying down. Everything else seemed difficult for now. He looked around the unfamiliar surroundings. His memories were twisted as if someone forced him to take it in. 'Xu Nian! that's my name. What else do I know that is true?'. There was not one or two individuals' memory but numerous. For days his body was resting, his brain processed an enormous amount of information.
First, a spirit! than a hunter, a doctor, a scholar.... etc. There were fifty of those that he could recall. 'I know that there are a total of nine hundred and ninty nine of life experiences, but I only recall fifty, but which one was the last. How did I end up here.' Xu Nian's mind was full of doubt and foreboding. 'Is this even real and not a virtual game, right?'
'Wait, how do I know what a virtual reality is. Something is wrong. I feel as if my memory has been tampered with.' Xu Nian was anxious he couldn't tell apart what truly was his and what wasn't. After an hour, when he recovered from the depreciating thoughts, he quickly began analyzing everything.
"System Warning"
"The owners body currently can't handle the memories engraved in the soul. Refrain from over exercising your brain."
The prompt notification almost scared the hell out of him. Xu Nian cursed at it, thinking, ' Why must the 'System' always scare him?' Upon the 'System's' notification, Xu Nian pieced every piece of information he could gather.
First, in all of the lifetimes, few things were common. He had the same name, starting from the same age that is ten years old, and the most important of all this 'System' stuck with him throughout those lifetimes. He has lived a nine hundred and ninty nine lifetime from the age of ten. But Xu Nian couldn't recall his first birth or his first lifetime's memory. Out of those, only fifty remains. Xu Nian did feel bad about losing his memories, but he was also thankful that a handful of them remained to assist him for further purposes.
'But what happened in the last lifetime? How did it come to an end?'

" HEAVENLY DISSONANCE "
" The 'System' congratulates the owner for completing a thousand lifetime through transmigration. The System : Heavenly Dissonance shall assist you in your journey to become a Dimensional lord."
Xu Nian was taken aback by the constant notifications before his eye. A blue rectangular panel almost hovering over his face. His eyebrows twitched at the mention of 'Heavenly Dissonance'. At these skeptical times, he was always thankful for his over analytic brain. He understood that his previous 'System' was updated to a new one. The term 'Dissonance' reminded him of the end of his each lifetime, which was accompanied by dimensional dissonance. Is it perhaps related to this?
He guessed there must be a dimensional crisis each time he transmigrated. According to the 'System', it is a thousand lifetime, which means he transmigrated into this body. He wondered if he would disappear in oblivion after this life comes to an end. A solemn look fell over his face. He lay on the mat and fell asleep.
Xu Nian woke up groaning in pain. A sickly child ran up to him, smiling and assisting him against the wall.
He came to know the name of this crippled body, too, was Xu Nian. He was too occupied the previous night that he failed to notice his surroundings. But now that he took a good look, it was unsettling for him to know that a mere ten year old was reduced to a cripple. He grimaced. Both the girl and he looked malnourished. With chapped lips, tangled hair, dirty bloodied nails, torn clothes, dilapidated hut, not a single furniture or utensils. The overall situation was depressing. Xu Nian made a resolute stance to overcome this situation. For now, his stomach was growling. Like an angle from heaven, the girl calling him brother (must be his sister, he thought ) brought a bowl made out of a giant leaf. He remained optimistic and told himself not to judge a book by its cover as he anticipated a good no a decent meal. The girl placed the bowl before him, which had a steaming green soup. He withheld his urge to puke and looked at the girl who almost instantly gulped from her bowl and had finished her meal. She looked at him, expectantly urging him to eat as she brought the bowl before him. Patience..... patience was what he needed. He gulped the first sip, grimacing at the bitter taste he drank it all. A constant frown lingering his face.
