Atty smiled, yawning and stretching as he sat up. His gaze drifted toward his puppy. He buried his face in her golden fur as he hugged her.
She smelled so nie. Atty missed her so much. A frown spread across his face. But he wanted to Keep Syrup, too… Were other humans being nice to him?
Del smiled as he came into the living room. "Morning, Kiddo. Do you still feel sick?"
'Eat.'
"What do you want?" Del whispered. "Cy and Bet would love to make you something."
Atty turned to look at Betty, who was still sleeping.
"I can wake her up for you."
The redhead shook his head. 'Ice cream?'
Del chuckled. "Ice cream? I can do that."
Grandma sat up. "I hope you're not going to actually feed my grandson that."
Atty jumped. 'Food."
"That's not food," Grandma said.
Grandpa sat up. "It might be junky, but that doesn't mean it's not food."
Grandma said, "A sick child needs to eat healthily."
