Ray grinned as he swung the door open. "Collin! I'm back!"
The blankets looked like a small hill and Arthur couldn't hear a peep.
"Collin?" Ray asked.
Arthur peeled the blanket back enough to get a better look at the boy's face.
His flushed face was drenched in sweat and his breathing was rapid. Really, he looked mighty awful.
A puppy yawned as it crawled out from under the blanket hill.
Ray blinked. "Is that a puppy?"
Michiru came in through the open door. "Yes, it is. My family has been giving out a litter of them."
Ray picked up the puppy and smiled. "Got more?"
Art couldn't help but smile. Ray loved animals.
Michiru hummed. "Maybe." He eyed the sick boy. "But right now, he should be our priority."
"Right," Ray said, frowning as he stared at the sweaty Collin. His shoulders slumped. "Wonder if it's my fault..."
"Same illness you had?" Michiru asked.
He nodded. "Looks like it."
