Cole looked around to see if anyone was around before approaching Kari. "Are you lost?"
"No, I am just looking around. I can't expect my grandson to wander his way home at this point." Kari laughed. "Or maybe I can. He has always had a knack for slipping away. Almost like a real cat."
Should she really have said that out loud?
"Is your other grandson at home?"
"Yeah, he rarely goes out even when we're home."
Wow. He was a real shut in.
"He pretty much only goes out when he has to work in the office."
Should Cole ask what kind of work that guy did?
"How did your work go?" Kari asked.
"It was different, but it was good."
Cole couldn't help but notice the thoughtful expression on Kari's face.
"If you'd like, I could show you some places I've seen your grandson in. While small, there's a chance he might pop up in one of them if he were to have gotten away."
