"But the fact that you've chosen me right now means I have value, doesn't it?" Li Xiaotan said as she put her clothes back on, her movements deliberate and unhurried.
As she fastened the last button, she turned to face Shen Wan. "Judging by your willingness to spend lavishly, I'm sure you mind an extra fifty thousand."
"Not minding it doesn't mean I'll let you take the advantage."
Li Xiaotan frowned. "Don't you find yourself acting strangely? You sought me out, yet you're also being critical and sharp in your words. I'm certain I haven't offended you before today, so why?"
Even though Shen Wan concealed it well, Li Xiaotan could still see a hint of disdain in her eyes.
She didn't like that look.
Not at all.
Shen Wan didn't show any embarrassment at being exposed. "Maybe we had some unresolved grudge in a past life?" She smiled ambiguously, her words carrying a mixture of truth and jest.
