Standing in front of Yang Liu's hospital room, Xiao Xu stopped in his tracks.
He glanced at the young nurse who had led him there, cocked his head with a smile, and said, "Thank you, pretty girl."
The nurse's face flushed red, and she couldn't bring herself to look directly at Xiao Xu, hastily replied, "You're welcome, Teacher Xiao, I'll be off then."
Only then did Xiao Xu nod, signaling to Jiang Yi that this was the room.
Jiang Yi stood at the door, which was half-open.
The woman sitting by Yang Liu's bedside turned her head upon hearing the noise.
It was then that Jiang Yi raised her hand to politely knock on the door.
The woman stood up, came to the door, and asked, "Who are you looking for?"
Jiang Yi peeked past the woman into the room at the bed inside: "Excuse me, is this Yang Liu's room?"
The woman paused, then nodded: "I'm Yang Liu's mother. And you are?"
"Hello, aunty, I'm her roommate, my name is Jiang Yi."
