Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

'That was really good,' Michael whispered in my ear, spooning me.

I giggled and shrugged into the embrace like we were not already close enough.

'Let's get you on your way, ok?'

I felt like all the warmth I was feeling suddenly got drenched in iced water. We just finished less than two minutes ago and he wanted to get me on my way?

The only thing I heard after was Emily telling me to make sure I didn't agree to go home with him regardless of how the date went. How was I going to explain to her that there was never a date, I didn't get to talk about anything, and worse, I had sex with him (again!)

'Are you good?'

Michael was already off the bed and shuffling into fresh draws.

'I thought we were gonna hang out together for a bit,' I tried to sound as soft as I could even though I was boiling with so much anger within me. Mad at the situation, but more pissed and disappointed in myself.

'Oh no, I told you I've got training,' he said. I didn't remember him mentioning anything about training neither in his apology text of being too busy to respond earlier nor during the call when he was trying to convince me to come over to his place since he was too tired from training to go out.

'Please get me my clothes,' I was masking up my emotions again.

It wasn't the first time he was 'getting me on my way' immediately after sex. It wouldn't be a problem if he told me beforehand and we were both aware of his plans but it was a problem because he has been doing this since he switched up on me after the issue we had. I shouldn't have answered that call.

'There,' he threw my clothes at me.

I was still curled up on the bed staring at him. He was obviously fully aware of what he was doing to me and it's more painful for me to see someone who was so into me just a few months ago treat me like that.

'What's up with the look? Please get dressed, your ride should be here soon.'

Without bothering to get an answer to 'What's up with the look?', he stepped out of the room leaving me to get dressed. As if all the emotions I'd been bottling up were waiting for him to step out, I started bowling. Tears flowed down my cheeks and soaked up the pillow I was crying into. I screamed into the pillow and after a couple of minutes that felt like forever, the tears stopped flowing. My brain and heart already came to an agreement and I knew I got my wakeup call already. I picked up my phone to text Emily.

'Where're you at?'

'Home,' she texted back almost immediately. She must have been waiting for my text.

'Can you order me some Chinese?'

'Sure,' she returned with a curious cat sticker.

'Thanks, I'll be home soon

I dropped my phone and scurried into his bathroom like I didn't just bawl my eyes out. After a quick shower, I rushed back into the room to get dressed. I put on my lipgloss and mascara and, brushed my hair

He walked back into the room as I was brushing my hair and started walking toward me with a flirty smirk on his face. I didn't know if it was disgust or anger I felt as I cornered him and reached for my purse before he could touch me.

'Is my ride here?' I looked blankly at him. He looked concerned for a minute before nodding to affirm my ride.

'Thanks,' I walked around him to the living room, leaving him behind.

'Hold on,' he called after me. I rolled my eyes wondering what else he had to say to me.

'Yes?' I called back without turning to look at him, my hand was already on the door, I had Chinese waiting for me at home.

'Good luck with your exams

I scoffed and left knowing he never paid attention to anything I had to say. I wrote my last exam the day he didn't respond to my text. If he had read it, he'd know.

The ride home wasn't as pathetic or emotional as I had thought. The uber guy wasn't looking at me bawling my eyes out in his backseat and I wasn't narrating the whole experience to a total stranger while crying, either. I simply sat there playing candy crush while enjoying my Uber guy's country playlist.

'Hey, how did it go?' Emily looked at me with concern the moment I stepped in.

Following the spicy sweet smell of my Chinese food, I walked past her, dropped my bag on the sofa, and went straight to our mini kitchen to eat.

'Well, it's over,' I said, munching on my spring roll while responding to a text from my mom.

'Ok,' Emily responded but I knew she was just respecting my privacy by not asking further questions. I was still hurt but it was really over this time.
