Part 4 - On the Frontier

Eldoria's army marched towards the northwestern border, approaching the imposing stone wall that had protected the kingdom for generations.

The Knight, now called the Commander by his men, led the entourage with a firm expression and a penetrating gaze, aware that his mission was to protect and strengthen this important barrier against their enemies.

As they approached the border, the soldiers could see the length of the wall stretching for miles along the kingdom's border. It was a solid and imposing structure, built to withstand any enemy onslaught.

The Commander looked on with pride at the grandeur of the wall, knowing that it had witnessed countless battles and victories.

As they reached the chosen spot to set up camp near the border, the Commander looked around, assessing every detail of the terrain. The landscape was marked by rolling hills, providing a strategic point from which to observe the battlefield.

The imposing stone wall in the background was a constant reminder of the mission that awaited them.

Soldiers were quickly organizing themselves, erecting their tents and preparing their weapons for the impending confrontation. The officers worked together, strategizing and strengthening the border defenses.

Captain Eliza, a dark-haired woman with a steady gaze, led the team of archers, carefully selecting vantage points for her arrows to strike the enemy with deadly accuracy.

Meanwhile, Sir William and his team of engineers began to build trenches around the wall, making the enemy advance more difficult. They dug deep trenches and erected barricades, ensuring that any attempted attack would be met with fierce resistance.

The Commander paced the camp, overseeing every detail of the preparations. His serious and focused expression conveyed to the soldiers the importance of the mission they were about to face.

The silence in the camp was broken only by the clatter of tools, the sound of the wind blowing through the hills and the echo of the Commandant's words of command.

As night fell, the camp came alive with the glow of campfires and the sound of warriors' voices. The tension was palpable in the air, but there was also an unwavering determination.

The Commander knew they were not just fighting for territory, but for the future of Eldoria and its people.

At the end of the day, with the sky speckled with stars, the soldiers gathered around a large bonfire, eager to receive the Commander's final orders for the coming battle.

The Commander, standing with a rigid stance and his armor reflecting the glow of the flames, addressed his men.

"Soldiers of Eldoria, tomorrow will be a day of challenges and trials. Our enemies are on their way, hungry for our land and riches. But we will not give in! We are here to protect our home, our families and everything we love. Today, we build our walls and strengthen our defenses. Tomorrow, we will face the enemy with courage and honor. We will fight together, side by side, as true brothers in arms. Now, rest and be ready for what is to come."

The soldiers, inspired by the Commander's words, responded with a loud round of applause and war cries. Determination and unity were evident in every countenance.

The night passed slowly, but the camp remained in constant vigilance. The sentries took turns looking intently at the horizon, waiting for the enemies to arrive at dawn.

And so, the next morning, at the first ray of sunlight, as the camp gradually brightened, the Commandant and his men heard an immense noise of marching and horse steps in the distance. The ground shook under the weight of the rapidly approaching enemy army.

The Commandant looked at his officers and said in a low but firm voice: "They have arrived..."
