After Nick Fury returned to S.H.I.E.L.D, he immediately began a secret investigation. As a founder of S.H.I.E.L.D, Howard Stark was assassinated, yet Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., did not know about it. He could not uncover the truth of Howard's assassination or Hydra being hidden within S.H.I.E.L.D.
He knew that S.H.I.E.L.D. had spies; it was a semi-open secret. Various influential groups, congressmen, and government departments would send people to join S.H.I.E.L.D.
But they would help its development. They would even help S.H.I.E.L.D. while secretly ensuring it did not endanger the world. Fury also needed the help of high-level figures. However, when Hydra appeared, everything changed.
He soon found a clue: another management system within S.H.I.E.L.D., like a parasitic entity, was powerful enough to replace S.H.I.E.L.D. The more Fury thought about it, the more terrified he felt. He realized this system had been in place since S.H.I.E.L.D.'s inception. After years of development, Hydra had become immensely powerful.
Additionally, he obtained some hidden documents from Agent Carter, the first director of S.H.I.E.L.D, and discovered special information about Ivan. After reading about Ivan, Fury thought this man was smarter than Einstein and capable of destroying the world.
The information was indeed astonishing. As Germany's chief scientist, Ivan made over 100 inventions in one year, producing advanced weapons that outpaced the United States and the United Kingdom.
More shocking was Ivan's collaboration with Dr. Zola to build a super aircraft for the bombing. If Captain America hadn't sacrificed himself, crashing the plane into an Arctic glacier, many lives would have been lost.
Ivan also participated in making energy weapons based on the Tesseract. Ivan and Dr. Erskine developed the superhuman serum. Even now, the superhuman serum remains unsolved, with created super warriors having defects.
Yet, Ivan produced the superhuman serum 70 years ago, enhancing various aspects such as prolonging life, improving physique, and developing the brain. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s super-agent, Black Widow Natasha, was a beneficiary of this serum.
Reading this, Fury felt the urge to capture Ivan and make him work for S.H.I.E.L.D. With Ivan's intelligence, it seemed possible for one person to rejuvenate a nation. No wonder countries sought to capture Ivan during World War II, willing to pay any price.
However, upon seeing the following information, Fury abandoned the idea. Ivan was incredibly dangerous. After Germany's defeat, Ivan produced the first atomic bomb, preventing the United Nations from pressing Germany too hard during negotiations.
He then traded atomic bomb information with the British royal family to learn magic, creating a super werewolf and a notable figure in the British magic world. The British royal family even made him an earl to win him over.
Moreover, Ivan participated in the Cuban missile crisis and was a leader among mutants. He owned many industries worldwide and had the power to influence numerous countries economically.
Fury felt helpless and temporarily set aside Ivan's affairs. He continued reviewing the information and soon found issues concerning Peggy Carter, the first director of S.H.I.E.L.D. While Peggy Carter made countless contributions to protect Earth, she was criticized in many ways.
Everyone thought Carter was old-fashioned and reluctant to use computers. Reports handed to her must be in paper documents. She was known for her rigorous standards, often rejecting agents' work and blocking their promotions.
Even after stepping down as director, she became the first advisor with veto power. Her seniority allowed her to block many actions.
He, too, was frustrated with Peggy Carter's actions but now realizes things were not so simple. It seems she discovered Hydra's existence long ago and had been fighting.
He felt helpless, but unfortunately, Carter is in her late years, and her brain disease left her in a state of insanity most of the time. Otherwise, he could go to Carter to learn the truth.
He pondered over the documents for a long time and finally made up his mind. He picked up the phone and called. Soon, Coulson, Hill, and Natasha arrived at his office, and he secretly assigned them several tasks.
Just as Nick Fury began to act, Ivan received news from the Red Queen. With a smile on his face, he knew everything was ready. It depends on Fury and Pierce's abilities; Ivan doesn't care who wins or loses.
Once Ivan was sure that Fury had taken the bait, he resumed work. He expected that this small mistake would be fine for him.
Although Fury was as careful as possible during his investigation, S.H.I.E.L.D. had been deeply infiltrated by Hydra. Fury's former boss, Alexander Pierce, noticed something and inquired about the situation from Fury, both intentionally and unintentionally.
Fury already suspected Pierce but knew it was not the right time to act. He pointed to Ivan to mislead Pierce, attributing his recent strange behavior to investigating Ivan. He handed Ivan's information to Pierce.
Although Ivan used magic to reduce his presence, he was not entirely invisible. As soon as someone mentioned him, they could recall him.
Having had a conflict with Ivan before, Pierce remembered him well. After reading the information, Pierce recognized Ivan's vast resources, advanced technologies, and superhuman serum. Pierce immediately ordered that Ivan be captured at all costs.
Originally, Fury planned to deceive Pierce temporarily, but things quickly spiraled out of control.
After recalling his conflict with Ivan, Pierce was determined to solve the problem at any cost. He leaked information about Ivan to high-level officials in councils, super consortia, and government ministries.
They went wild after hearing that Ivan created the superhuman serum, which could extend life. They fully cooperated with S.H.I.E.L.D, determined to achieve their goal.
Fury saw that things had gone too far to stop. If he objected, he would face backlash. He couldn't continue fighting Hydra nor remain director of S.H.I.E.L.D. He had no choice but to join the effort to capture Ivan.
But soon, everyone faced an embarrassing problem: they couldn't find Ivan. It was as if Ivan did not exist in this world, leaving them without any trace.
In desperation, they focused on Kyle. With the clues pointing to Ivan, Kyle was their only connection. Since they couldn't catch the old one, they decided to capture the younger one for interrogation, hoping to find Ivan along the way.
So, when Kyle woke up entangled with a beautiful woman, got dressed, and was about to go to Stark Industries, he was stopped by a motorcade as soon as he walked out of the house.
A man who claimed to be with the CIA stepped forward and said, "Excuse me, Mr. Shaw, there's an incident related to national security that needs your help. Please come with us."
Kyle discreetly checked the surroundings and noticed five snipers within a 100-meter radius. They were armed with tranquilizers, clearly intending not to kill him.
"Of course. Serving the country is an obligation of every American citizen. Let's go now."
Kyle appeared cooperative and got into a commercial car under the agent's guidance. However, no one noticed that as he got in the car, Kyle flicked his sleeve, releasing a wisp of black fog that slipped under the car.
Escorted by several black sedans, Kyle's car headed towards a secret base. The agent in charge felt relieved that everything was going smoothly, but halfway there, something went wrong.
As the vehicle sped along, thick black fog suddenly spread from under Kyle's car, enveloping the surroundings in darkness. Amid the mist, white light and humanoid shapes appeared, forcibly stopping the cars and beginning to slaughter the agents.
These were powerful hyperspectral creatures, terrifying ghosts, about 20 or 30 in number. Each was incredibly strong and moved swiftly.
The agents' specially modified vehicles, resistant to cannon fire, were no match for these creatures. They smashed the car windows with ease and killed the agents instantly.
In less than a minute, all the agents were dead except for the one who had initially spoken to Kyle.
After the ghosts destroyed the car's monitoring equipment, Kyle smiled, slapped the last agent, and began reading his memory with magic. Upon learning the cause and effect, Kyle couldn't help but curse his father for causing such trouble.
Kyle thought momentarily, took out his phone, called Tony Stark, explained the situation, and left him a special number. Finally, he recalled the ghosts and disappeared.
