Ivan prepared to resume fighting when, suddenly, a powerful voice echoed, "Who dares to be so bold in Asgard? Let me meet you!"
Startled, Ivan turned to see a burly figure with a sledgehammer, and Thor, the blond god of thunder, flying towards them.
With a resounding boom, Lightning fell after Thor's arrival, visibly furious at the injured Heimdall and Elliot. Thor, wielding his hammer, swung it menacingly at Ivan.
Bitterness filled Ivan's heart, realizing the misunderstanding was escalating. Though he intended to explain, he understood the need to assert himself in this situation. Without engaging first, he risked being perceived as an easy target.
Deliberately testing Thor's Hammer, Ivan stood firm against the incoming blow, crossing his knives to meet it. Reflecting on Captain America blocking the hammer with a shield, Ivan, confident in his strength, mirrored the action.
To prevent unforeseen mishaps, he readied his energy absorption ability, prepared to use it if needed. The plan was to buy time and evade if necessary.
The clash of Ivan's golden swords with Thor's Hammer created a harsh metal symphony. The immense force pressed down, causing his arms to strain. Fortunately, the Vibranium withstood the blow, and Ivan promptly absorbed Thor's Hammer's kinetic energy.
Just as he sighed in relief, a sudden twist occurred. Thor's Hammer rumbled, unleashing a burst of thunder power that hit both Thor and Ivan simultaneously, sending them flying.
Thor, relatively unscathed by the thunder's power, quickly recovered upon hitting the ground, rolling twice before swiftly standing up.
Similarly, Ivan felt the lightning's influence waning as he remained airborne, gradually dissipating upon landing and being absorbed into his body. This spectacle left Thor momentarily stunned.
Taking advantage of Thor's daze, Ivan kicked off the ground, soaring into the air, knives poised for a slashing attack.
Thor, inherently warlike and confident in his abilities, raised his hammer to meet the airborne threat.
Unfortunately for Thor, he miscalculated. The clash of swords and hammers initially blocked Ivan's force, but a second force, stronger than the first, followed, sending Sol flying in a series of somersaults before coming to an embarrassed stop.
Ivan wore a smug smile, his attack method termed "stacking waves" — a sequential secondary assault. The initial force, Ivan's power, primarily aimed to restrict the opponent, while the subsequent force, after absorbing the opponent's strength, amplified the attack. It was an opportune moment, with the opponent's old strength vanishing and the new strength not yet being generated.
Persistently pursuing victory, Ivan aimed to defeat Thor before he could rise again. However, Elliot and Heimdall intervened, recognizing Thor's significance as the heir to the throne. They understood the dire consequences of harming him and moved to protect Thor.
Facing the two, Ivan, while blocking a sword and striking with his golden sword, delivered a backhand strike to Heimdall. Though Heimdall, weakened by previous injuries, couldn't effectively evade, Ivan opted for a non-lethal blow.
Meanwhile, Elliot fared no better. Kicked in the stomach by Ivan after Heimdall's defeat, he knelt in pain, unable to rise.
When Thor regained his footing, he witnessed Ivan kicking Elliot. Though relieved to see no imminent danger, Thor felt a pang of humiliation. Since when did Asgard require mercy from its enemies?
Thor rose to his feet, locking eyes with Ivan, a fiery intensity blazing within. His innate belligerence, honed through countless battles, now faced an unfamiliar challenge. If he couldn't reclaim control today, a lingering discomfort threatened to overshadow his life.
Simultaneously, Thor underwent a transformative process. A violent aura emanated from his body, surrounded by flickering thunderous power.
Deep within Asgard, Odin, seated on his throne with closed eyes, suddenly opened one and muttered, "Have you awakened? Don't disappoint me."
Ivan, sensing Thor's change, adopted a solemn expression. His aura intensified, his stature seemingly growing taller, exuding a formidable presence akin to an unyielding mountain, with a terrifying aura hinting at world-shattering power.
"Attack!" both Ivan and Thor bellowed, charging towards each other.
Thor's hammer flickered with lightning, but this time it coalesced rather than splashed. The thunder's power condensed into a luminous ball, lacking the massive momentum from before. Yet, it exuded a more ominous aura—a force capable of crushing and annihilating everything.
Ivan swung his golden double sword in a cross, its blade emitting a thin layer of blue brilliance, deceptively sharp. Even Heimdall and Elliot, who hadn't faced it directly, felt a spine-chilling awe.
Boom!
Thor and Ivan collided once more, blue light flashing and thunder overflowing. This clash unleashed a force far more potent than before, propelling Heimdall and Elliot into the sea, demolishing nearly half of the surrounding buildings. Fortunately, the Rainbow Bridge remained intact, sparing additional complications in its repair.
Despite Thor's formidable attack, Ivan skillfully blocked it and, having absorbed part of Thor's power, counterattacked by pushing him away with both hands.
To his surprise, Thor rebounded from the clash with newfound wisdom. Before landing, he exerted extra effort to hurl Thor's Hammer at Ivan.
Ivan, using two knives to meet the incoming hammer, found himself facing a more powerful throw from Thor this time. Although he could absorb and dissolve the energy, the process took time, and the force of Thor's Hammer pushed him backward, crashing into a wall and almost tumbling into the sea.
Luckily, Ivan's enhanced brain development and control over the basic forces of the universe allowed him to manipulate gravity, floating in the air and maintaining his shape while dissolving the power of Thor's Hammer.
Through the hole in the wall, Thor marveled at Ivan flying in the air. He hadn't anticipated that his opponent not only resisted Thor's Hammer but could also fly, making him a formidable adversary.
Thor, unyielding, summoned his hammer back to his hand and raised it high once more.
Although Ivan withstood the power, his arm was numb. Before he could move, lightning struck, prompting him to max out his energy absorption ability. A violent surge of thunder entered his body, causing discomfort.
Fortunately, Ivan drew on his experience facing Wonder Woman and absorbing her Thunder power. Having researched a power, similar to Thor's, Ivan absorbed it without incident.
Unwilling to be a mere punching bag, Ivan sought retaliation. After being struck twice, he looked at Thor, still holding the Hammer high for a second attack. Ivan smiled mysteriously and, with an open mouth, unleashed the absorbed Thunder power towards Thor.
Thor caught off guard, took a lightning strike to the chest, sending him flying across the rainbow bridge and crashing heavily on the beach, forming a deep pit.
Alarmed, Ivan chased after him. Thor's sensitive identity made the situation precarious. Concerned about Odin's potential reaction, Ivan didn't want to provoke Asgard.
Thankfully, Thor's godly nature protected him from harm by lightning. Although he fell hard, the floor mitigated the impact, allowing him to climb back up.
Ivan sighed in relief, only to find a new headache. The current Thor, unlike the transformed future Thor, was brimming with arrogance and a mind seemingly dominated by muscles. Perhaps he should be dubbed the "God of Hammers." Thor, always proud, couldn't bear the humiliation and promptly stood up, shaking his head. Flames ignited in Ivan's eyes as Thor extended his hand, summoning his hammer without a word and hurling it directly at Ivan.
Cursing his luck internally, Ivan engaged in a fierce battle with Thor. Initially showing mercy, Ivan's swords landed multiple painful but non-lethal blows on Thor. However, Thor, oblivious to lifting the hammer, intensified his attacks.
Provoked, Ivan unleashed increasingly ferocious moves. Ensuring no harm to Thor's life, he executed brutal techniques, causing Thor to break into a cold sweat.
Thor roared, swinging his hammer wildly. Despite increasing speed and strength, he couldn't land a hit on Ivan. Fearful of repeating a failed hammer throw, he refrained from launching an attack. The memory of being easily dodged before, followed by a series of painful strikes with the back of the sword, made him cautious.
In the depths of his despair, a voice reached Thor from behind, bringing a spark of hope to his face.
"Thor, we're here to help!"
As Ivan battled, he caught sight of three men and a woman rushing toward them. Recognizing their appearance, Ivan immediately thought of the legendary four warriors of Asgard.
Leading the charge was a heroic female warrior, exuding an air of valor. Without a doubt, it was Sif, the Valkyrie.
Following Sif, a burly, bearded man, almost horizontally growing, appeared—presumably Volstagg. Muscles threatened to burst through his armor.
Next were Hogan and Fandral, one with a cool face and the other, a handsome charmer. Ivan had noticed their arrival, and behind them hung a handsome man with an evil charm. Not rushing to surround Ivan, he observed silently from behind. In Ivan's mind, a name emerged—Loki,
The four warriors of Asgard roared, rushing to aid Thor in besieging Ivan. Thor arrogantly laughed, "My comrades are here. You're finished."
At an imperceptible speed, Ivan forced Thor back dozens of times with his long sword. Sensing a strong wind behind him, he turned abruptly and slashed at Sif's chest.
Fortunately, Fandral arrived in time, blocking the attack with his long sword. It shattered, flying away with a bang.
Seeing his brother in a vulnerable position, Volstagg roared angrily, swinging an oversized axe at Ivan's head. Simultaneously, Hogan threw his mace connected to a chain toward Ivan.
Unfazed, Ivan pushed Sif away, clamped Volstagg's axe with both knives, and drew it to the side. Using the force of the blow, he intercepted Hogan's mace with a bang, leaving both warriors shocked and their arms numb.
In a few moves, Ivan forced back the four warriors. While others might find this feat impressive, for Ivan, it was as routine as eating and sleeping. Their sole purpose was to buy time by replacing Thor.
Thor capitalized on the distraction, relieved by the efforts of the four warriors. Seizing the opportunity, he jumped up, grabbed his hammer, and with all his strength, aimed to smash Ivan's head.
Ivan took a deep breath, a glint in his eyes as he crossed his swords above his head. Simultaneously, he maximized his abilities to meet Thor.
With a resounding bang at the intersection of swords and hammers, a tremendous force surged into Ivan's body. His body swelled momentarily, then slowly contracted to its original form.
The swelling was due to the process of absorbing and converting energy, occurring when faced with powerful energy that couldn't be absorbed instantly. The force from Thor's hammer was substantial but still within Ivan's tolerance.
Raising his head, Ivan stared at Thor and uttered coldly, "Now it's my turn!"
