From that day onwards, Chris visited the farm almost every night. Soon after, Ivan's new housekeeper, the guinea pig Henry, and his wife Abigail arrived. The farm's residents now included Ivan, Kyle, Chris, Clark, Tina, the Morgan couple, Ghost, and the pet Simba, making the farm much livelier.
In the following days, Ivan dedicated most of his time to teaching Kyle and Chris, in addition to managing his devil's cabin as usual every seven days. Naturally, he didn't neglect his study of the black magic spell on Henry Morgan. As for young Clark, Tina and Abigail took care of him.
Three years flew by, and Ivan's life was comfortable. He worked once a week, occasionally taught his son, and spent nights with Tina.
One day, Ivan gathered his three sons and spoke earnestly, "I have something for you today. I hope you make good use of it and don't disappoint me."
Chris and Kyle exchanged glances, understanding that Ivan's seriousness indicated the gravity of the matter. Clark, still young, sensed the heavy atmosphere but didn't pay much attention.
Ivan sighed as he looked at his children. Time had passed quickly, and they had grown so tall. His gaze lingered on Chris, whom he had come to know well over the past three years.
At that time, Ivan had observed Chris's mature and stable personality, shaped by his previous environment. Chris approached Ivan's teachings, whether in magic or technology, with focus and determination, eagerly absorbing knowledge.
Chris's diligence reminded Ivan of his younger self, equally passionate about acquiring knowledge. In just three years, with the same energy-absorption ability as Ivan, Chris had evolved into a powerful wizard and a knowledgeable scientist. His versatility reassured Ivan the most.
To further challenge and train Chris, Ivan started involving him in the Devil's Cabin trade, leveraging his knowledge to identify items. Chris excelled in this role, prompting Ivan to decide to pass on the Devil's Cabin responsibilities to him.
Ivan handed Chris a golden key engraved with dense runes, prompting a surprised expression on his face. Uncertain whether to accept it, he hesitated.
Smiling, Ivan encouraged, "Take it. You deserve this, a reward for your three years of hard work. Don't worry about handling it well; the Red Queen and I will be your support. Just remember to conceal your true appearance in the Cabin"
Glancing at Kyle, Chris sought his opinion. Kyle, in turn, encouraged, "Brother, if Dad wants to give it to you, take it. Your dedication over the past three years puts me to shame. I wouldn't have admitted defeat and called you brother otherwise. As for me, don't worry; my father will prepare something suitable for me. Frankly, I can't match your level of dedication or knowledge. If I were in charge of the Cabin and trade, I'd probably fail miserably."
"Thank you for acknowledging your limitations" Ivan playfully scolded Kyle.
Compared to Chris, Ivan had more concerns about Kyle. Kyle's detached personality and inability to focus on studying worried him as his father. Although knowledgeable by ordinary standards, Kyle fell short of Ivan's expectations, causing him some distress.
Observing Kyle's nonchalant response, devoid of jealousy or discontent, Chris was moved. He reached out and accepted the key.
As Chris's palm touched the key, a magical occurrence unfolded. The key melted into his palm, leaving a peculiar golden rune on his arm. This rune granted Chris permission to enter the Devil's Cabin through Apparition at any time, as the owner, and take anything he desired.
"Dad, is it my turn now? Where's the magic summoning book you prepared for me? I've been eager for it for a long time," Kyle impatiently asked when Ivan shifted his attention to him.
"Here you go" Ivan hastily tossed a thick book to Kyle. The book's surface was adorned with countless runes, forming a hexagon in a circle, creating an air of mystery that drew one's attention inward.
Kyle, indifferent to his father's expression, embraced the magic book with a smirk on his face. He had been eagerly anticipating this moment for a long time.
Kyle's personality seemed inconsistent. Despite his intelligence, he struggled to maintain focus and diligence in his studies. In just three years, Chris had surpassed him significantly. To enhance Kyle's self-defense capabilities, Ivan went to great lengths to create a special magic book for him—a grimoire capable of summoning magical beasts for combat.
The idea of crafting this grimoire had been in Ivan's mind for quite some time, but due to various commitments, it had been delayed. Over the past three years on the farm, Ivan dedicated a portion of his daily time to its creation, completing it only recently.
The magical creatures featured in the book were sourced from Skull Island. The book comprised over 30 pages, each adorned with a magic circle. The required magical animals were summoned through contracts and spatial magic circles for battle.
When Kyle opened the magic book, the first page presented a formidable black dragon with an accompanying introduction. Kyle recognized it as Smaug, whose body length now exceeded 110 meters, primarily due to its lengthy tail. The sheer size of the creature made it an undeniable behemoth.
Turning to the second page, Kyle encountered a phoenix with a body length exceeding 20 meters. It possessed a slender neck, a crown-like fleshy crest, sharp claws, three tail feathers, and outstretched wings, giving it an elegant and breathtaking appearance.
The third page held the most surprising revelation—a kitsune warrior standing almost 2 feet tall. What caught everyone's attention was that this was a female warrior. Adorned with light, curly hair and bangs covering her forehead, she exuded a heroic spirit. Clutching a giant spear nearly ten meters long, she wore minimal armor, revealing a perfectly sculpted physique—eight strong abdominal muscles, toned arms and thighs, and a captivating figure that celebrated the beauty of the human body.
Kyle had seen the kitsune on Skull Island, but her figure had grown significantly taller since then. Seeing her again, Kyle couldn't help feeling a sense of awe, tempted to develop a stronger connection with her. (T/N- Guess who inherited Ivan's womanizing skills)
The grimoire also featured griffins, basilisks, unicorns, and other rare, almost extinct magical creatures with formidable strength. Though powerful, Kyle quickly skimmed through these sections, forming a general impression in his mind before putting the grimoire away.
With the grimoire and his strength, Kyle felt secure. Additionally, Ivan assigned Ghost to protect him, ensuring his safety. Originally, Ivan planned for Simba to be Kyle's protector, but Kyle worried that a big dog might scare away potential romantic interests. Opting for Ghost, which could discreetly transform and hide in his sleeves, Kyle envisioned releasing a powerful bodyguard when needed, creating an impressive and thrilling scene. This was Kyle's main reason for choosing the ghost.
Turning his attention to the youngest, Clark, Ivan noted the boy's emerging abilities. As Clark grew older, his unique powers, distinct from ordinary people, became apparent. Ivan dedicated himself to teaching Clark various aspects, aiding in the development of his control abilities with successful results.
Clark, a Kryptonian, possessed abilities such as flight, super hearing, super speed, self-healing, super defense, thermal vision, and perspective—all fueled by solar energy absorption. Ivan, unfamiliar with the original plot involving Superman's upbringing, took special care to provide Clark with a soundproof room. This allowed him to rest undisturbed at night while actively engaging with noises during the day to hone his control over his powers.
Despite being only three years old, Clark's strength was formidable, with the potential for further growth. However, his weaknesses included vulnerability to psychic abilities and Kryptonite, the substance he feared most.
Ivan handed Clark a small pendant, hung it around his neck, and pressed a button. A green light emitted from the pendant, caused Clark to lose all strength and fall to the ground. The two innocent boys looked at Ivan with puzzled eyes, unable to comprehend their father's actions.
"This is a kryptonite. It renders you incapacitated, and if targeted deliberately, it can pose a serious threat. You must find ways to address these weaknesses, ensuring you can protect yourself. Now, you're no different from ordinary children. Moving forward, practice under its influence. I'll provide you with additional safeguards in the future."
Although only three years old, Clark, given intelligence-boosting drugs by Ivan, nodded in agreement. While not matching Chris's intelligence or Kyle's inherited intelligence from Ivan it sets him apart from ordinary children, prompting him to agree to the plan readily.
