The field was already chaotic when the Red Devil and White Queen arrived. Now transformed into a blue beast, Hank grappled with Magneto, pressing him into the water in a rage. Meanwhile, injured in the leg, Mystique had just risen from the ground and was poised to flee.
"You guys go help Eric, and I'll save Raven. We'll meet here later."
After the Red Devil spoke, he teleported directly behind Mystique, reaching out to pat her shoulder.
"Ah!" Thinking it was Magneto chasing her, Mystique screamed in fear.
"Don't be afraid, Raven. It's me, Azazel. Don't worry; everything will be fine." The Red Devil reassured Mystique, embracing her.
On the other hand, the three Mutants refrained from using their abilities to conceal their identities. Angels and Riptide activated a muscle-strengthening ability in their mutant suits, rushing forward to grab the beasts' shoulders and drag them backward. Emma seized the opportunity to help Magneto out of the water.
Magneto opened his eyes and was startled to see a woman in a tight suit covered with scales. Only two eyes were visible, causing immediate alertness.
White Queen stepped back, hands spread in a non-threatening gesture, keeping her identity hidden.
Magneto observed two others in similar armor battling the beast Hank and realized they were allies. He smiled kindly and nodded in thanks.
However, Magneto still remembered his mission. Scanning the area, he spotted the Red Devil and Mystique. As the Red Devil prepared to take Mystique away, Magneto felt a sudden urgency. Swiftly, he pulled a steel bar from the guardrail and lunged toward Mystique, aiming to strike both her and the Red Devil.
"Watch out behind you," Mystique, who had seen the danger, urgently shouted at the unaware Red Devil.
Instinctively, the Red Devil turned and conjured a blue space wormhole, trapping the steel bar without knowing its destination.
"Eric, what are you doing? Why are you trying to harm us?" the Red Devil asked angrily.
"To protect our future, Raven must die. Step aside, or I will end both of you," Magneto declared with murderous intent.
The Red Devil shielded Mystique and faced Magneto with determination. "Eric, you've disappointed us too much. When you named your organization the Brotherhood of Mutants, we all hoped mutants could unite like brothers. Yet, here you are, turning against your kind. You're not worthy of being our leader."
At that moment, an indescribable sense of security welled up in Mystique's heart, and the rugged appearance of the Red Devil seemed charming to her.
"You don't understand what's happening at all. Everything I do is for mutants. Limited sacrifices are necessary. This is the only way we can protect more mutants."
"Enough. Regardless of the reason, I will never let you harm Raven. Our paths differ. In that case, let's settle it through strength."
Magneto realized he couldn't negotiate, so he took the initiative. Controlling countless nearby metals, he drew them in, sending them flying in all directions toward the Red Devil and Raven.
The Red Devil crossed his arms, creating a blue spherical barrier to shield himself and Mystique. Although Magneto's controlled metal easily pierced the barrier, it proved futile as it couldn't harm the duo inside.
Now, it was the Red Devil's turn to counterattack. Connecting his hands, a human-sized wormhole appeared before him, while additional wormholes manifested around Magneto from all directions. Red Devil clenched his fist, thrusting it through the space wormhole to strike Magneto.
Aware of the Red Devil's abilities from their prior encounters, Magneto swiftly reacted. He fragmented a piece of metal under his feet into numerous sharp shards encircling his body. If the Red Devil persisted, he'd be scratched by these iron shards.
Red Devil had to retract his fists and close the space wormholes to prevent Magneto from using them against him.
Magneto, unfazed, initiated a new tactic. With open hands, metals gathered in mid-air, forming two massive iron spheres with a three-meter diameter. Placing them a short distance from the Red Devil, the space barrier separated them by less than half a meter.
Boom! A deafening noise reverberated, unleashing shockwaves that sent bystanders scattering. The Red Devil's space barrier wavered but held. He waved his hands in response, conjuring another larger space wormhole that swallowed and sent one of Magneto's iron spheres miles away into the sea.
Refusing to concede, Magneto manipulated metal from surrounding buildings, causing structures to collapse and casualties.
The Red Devil, weakened by Magneto's onslaught, acted swiftly. Waving his arms, the spatial mirror shattered, fragmenting towards Magneto.
Surprised, Magneto reacted swiftly. Although unfamiliar with this move from the Red Devil, he understood its essence—an attack through spatial fragmentation. Realizing the danger of being enveloped, he slammed two smaller iron spheres together over the spreading space crack. While less effective than before, the impact disrupted the Red Devil's space manipulation, shattering the spatial threat.
"Enough, stop this at once." White Queen, leading Riptide and Angel, rushed over, angrily shouting.
Initially confused by the sudden events, Emma intervened to halt the clash between the Red Devil and Magneto. "What are you doing, behaving like children at a time like this? Our mutants are already in a precarious situation, and here you are, engaging in civil war." Even in her anger, the White Queen maintained her concealed identity, deliberately altering her voice.
"You don't understand what's happening. I'm trying to save more mutants, so please help me..." Magneto tried to explain, but the White Queen cut him off.
"Shut up. Regardless of the reason, we won't harm our people. Let's retreat for now, or we'll be surrounded later."
Surveying the damage from the battle, Red Devil felt uneasy. He knew he had violated the leader's orders, and the consequences awaited him. However, his priority was to save Raven.
"Crack." The Red Devil snapped his fingers, and a space wormhole appeared beside the three. "You three go back first. I'll take Raven to find a place to treat her injuries, and we'll join you later."
Relieved that the Red Devil had calmed down, they entered the space wormhole, which shrank and vanished.
Magneto sighed, realizing Red Devil couldn't be stopped if he decided to leave. Today, his plan had failed. Magneto didn't know that Mystique, wounded earlier, had left a bloodstain on the floor—the key to the Sentinel robot.
Professor X and Logan arrived, perplexed by the chaotic scene but understanding the need to leave. Unfortunately, Logan had missed noticing the mutant suits worn by the White Queen and others, a detail that might have sparked recognition.
Red Devil, holding Mystique, blinked, and they found themselves in an unfamiliar room. A bed occupied the space, and a sense of emptiness prevailed.
With white walls creating a comfortable ambiance, the Red Devil gently placed Mystique on the bed. He quickly pressed a square glass screen at the bed's head, enabling the call function after fingerprint verification.
"Doctor, please come to the emergency room immediately. I have a patient here who needs your help," the Red Devil urged anxiously.
"Okay, Azazel, I'll rush over. Don't worry," came the reassuring response.
As the Red Devil turned around, he saw Mystique's scales flip, transforming her from a smurf into a blond beauty.
Stunned momentarily, the Red Devil understood Mystique's intentions. "Raven, you don't need to do this. The doctor who will treat you is also a mutant and won't be startled by your appearance. You don't have to maintain a specific look."
Mystique, still in her transformed state, smiled. "That's true. Even if my appearance won't startle them, this will make people more comfortable."
"Okay, if you insist. It's up to you," the Red Devil said, placing a pillow under her head to ensure her comfort.
