Regarding the Magneto fiasco and his subordinates, Ivan never intended to help from start to finish. After the mutants were resurrected, those who chose to return to human society, Ivan sealed their memories and arranged new identities for them. He placed them in remote locations, ensuring they couldn't meet or rescue Magneto. Ivan aimed to reverse the future plot, maintain the original storyline, and make control easier. When Wolverine time-travels to this space, Ivan aims to study parallel worlds.
Speaking of Wolverine, Ivan last saw him a while ago. After living on Skull Island for two years and teaching mutants, Wolverine couldn't endure the island's boredom. Preferring bustling cities, he bid farewell to Ivan, who didn't object but hoped Wolverine's departure would advance the plot. When Logan left, Ivan didn't erase his memory like other mutants. Instead, he used the excuse of ensuring Logan always kept a watch.
The watch, housing the Red Queen, formed a defensive force field to protect Logan's brain from mental powers. It can destroy Logan's brain to prevent Skull Island's information from leaking if needed. Ivan informed Logan of this risk, and understanding its importance to mutants, Logan agreed without hesitation.
With the watch in place, Ivan could monitor Logan's movements while caring for the children, waiting for the wolf to time-travel. Ivan only needed to work one day every seven days, anticipating the reversal of the future plot's start. Unexpectedly, an accident occurred.
While playing with his son Kyle in Skull Island's jungle, a spacecraft approaching the Earth caught Ivan's attention. It would reach the Earth in three days. Ivan, surprised, left his son and hurried back to base with the Apparation. Apologizing to Kyle, he entrusted him to Tina, explaining he had urgent matters to attend to.
Kyle said very sensible: "Well. Dad's work is important. I will take care of myself, and mom will accompany me."
Ivan's expression brimmed with emotion, pleased by his son's sensibleness. He reached out to touch Kyle's small head, nodded at Tina, and turned to leave.
Ivan faced a large screen in the basement displaying the solar system's star map. An arrow indicated the slow movement of the spaceship.
"Red Queen, can you identify the force behind this spacecraft? What's their strength and technological level? Do you have relevant data? Also, how did you detect it just as it entered the solar system? I don't recall your detection range extending that far."
"Report, Dr. Ivan. I found it because the other party sent a signal voluntarily, accompanied by an order."
"An order," Ivan exclaimed. Orders typically pass between superiors and subordinates of the same force. Doesn't that seem odd?
"Tell me about the alien spaceship." Ivan pondered a possibility, his voice growing excited.
"It's a Kryptonian spacecraft carrying a newborn from Krypton. Its main system surpasses the Kryptonian exploration ship I'm in, and I've been ordered to stand by. When the baby grows, I'm to assist him in ruling Earth, making him the planet's king."
Ivan couldn't help but laugh. This seemed like Jor-El's conspiracy, bringing his son to Earth for a hidden purpose.
Initially, the exploration ship should've transmitted information about Earth back to Krypton. However, it only detected primary data about Earth's inhabitants. Jor-El believed Kryptonians would make his son a god-like figure with their tenfold gravitational force and superior physical qualities. Yet, Earth's mysteries surpassed Jor-El's simplistic understanding; he only grasped one-sided information.
Regardless, it was confirmed that the spaceship carried the future Superman, Ivan's childhood idol—the prospect of seeing him soon filled Ivan with excitement.
"Red Queen, calculate the spacecraft's landing time and location."
The screen's numbers flickered, providing a prompt result. "According to available information, in fifty-two hours, three minutes, seventeen seconds, the spacecraft will land in Smallville, Kansas, USA."
"Red Queen, I've upgraded your system multiple times, evolving it alongside my brain's development. Can you reverse-control the spacecraft's system?"
"With enough time, I can manage, but the ship has a powerful AI. I detected it when it messaged me earlier. Fake news may have confused it, but if directed to the system, it'll likely realize my existence. If desperate, it may harm the baby onboard."
"I see. That's all." Ivan recalled the spacecraft's intelligence, designed by Jor-El, Krypton's chief scientist, stored in a key. In the Superman Man of Steel plot, the key's system could even access General Zod's spaceship permissions. Subtle tactics seemed more reasonable.
Ivan thought for a moment and called Kerry. Shortly after, Kerry's voice echoed in the basement.
"Hello, Mr. Ivan. What can I help you with?"
"Kerry, I need your urgent assistance. It must be done within three days." Ivan's tone held rare seriousness.
"Master Ivan, please tell me. I'll do my best."
Ivan sent coordinates to Kerry and continued, "Swiftly, buy a farm in Smallville, Kansas, as close to the coordinates as possible. Avoid arousing suspicion, create a suitable identity, and I'll run the farm awhile."
"Master Ivan, rest assured. I'll handle this swiftly and provide an answer soon."
"Alright then, let's proceed!"
Ivan pondered the situation. He wanted to avoid directly confronting Superman, fearing a secret mechanism left by Superman's father on the spaceship.
Next, he planned to live as an ordinary farmer, taking his son Kyle and Tina along. Born on Skull Island, Kyle needed a break from the daily dealings with mutants and monsters. Ivan saw this as an opportunity for Kyle to experience ordinary life, expand his social circle, and make friends.
Ivan's industry spanned the globe, particularly technology, consistently leading the world. He rapidly developed his empire by staying one step ahead and incorporating visions from his previous life. Initially, he recruited most of Hydra's scientific and technological personnel, securing support from government officials with benefits in exchange for the Hydra branch leadership.
Now, Ivan's business empire was top-tier, with companies worldwide. Kerry swiftly helped him buy the farm in Smallville, Kansas, setting up everything within a day. Relevant documents were secured in under two days, and Irvin, with his son Kyle and Tina, began their life as farmers in Smallville, starting by cleaning up the rooms.
The farm's original owner faced bankruptcy after three consecutive years of poor harvests. When offered double the market price for the struggling property, he gladly accepted, not thinking twice. The windfall would clear his debts and leave enough for him to purchase a smaller farm elsewhere.
On the second night in their new home, a meteor streaked across the sky and crashed near the farm.
Ivan's eyes sparkled with determination. The Red Queen had already calculated the precise landing location. A phantom motion blurred before the meteor touched down, and Ivan disappeared in place. For Superman, Ivan's ambition knew no bounds.
Boom!
With a resounding crash, the spaceship finally landed, and Superman descended to Earth.
