In the subterranean space, despite Ivan's efforts with special thermal insulation materials, enduring the scorching magma below remained unbearable, regardless of attempts to cool down the heat.
At the core, within a transparent container, a girl slept immersed in nutrient solution. Ivan used his genes as a foundation, incorporating Mystique, Wolverine, and Darwin to aid the continuous integration of three genes into numerous mutant gene larvae. Later, a peculiar connection with the Earth's magnetic field emerged. Ivan suspected that Earth's consciousness had merged, absorbing energy in the nodes. The girl, now twelve or thirteen years old, had not fully matured but was expected to awaken upon maturity.
Gazing at the curled-up girl in the culture medium, Ivan murmured, "If you are truly Earth-conscious, you qualify as a contract notary. The contract remains valid as long as you are on Earth. Let me test your resilience."
Under Ivan's control, a metal tube, with a needle at the front end, precisely entered the girl's arm blood vessel, extracting a tube of red blood. Ivan closely monitored the girl's reactions, ready to flee if any issues arose.
Fortunately, everything progressed smoothly. Although the girl initially frowned during blood extraction, she quickly recovered, slipping back into a deep sleep.
Only after acquiring the blood sample did Ivan, relieved, swiftly return to the surface and head to the ancient castle laboratory to craft his favored magical items.
For Ivan, the magic prop creation had a pre-established plan, and he executed it without hesitation. Utilizing collected magic metals and rare materials, he decomposed and reorganized them with his abilities. Parts emerged one by one, each adorned with densely packed magic runes.
Upon assembling all the components, Ivan held a foot-long scale before him. Exquisite and mystical, the balance, enhanced by the magic rune composition, formed a mysterious pattern, evoking a sense of mystery.
Pleased with his work, Ivan knew it wasn't complete. Holding the silver-glowing remnant soul containing the Law of trade, he lightly tapped the pointer near the balance. The Law seamlessly integrated, and Ivan swiftly poured a vial of fresh liquid onto the balance.
A marvelous occurrence unfolded—the magic runes on the scale illuminated one by one, seemingly coming alive and interconnecting to form a peculiar magic circuit. A magical energy flowed along the circuit, intensifying the light, and enveloping the entire scale. Ivan, using his mental power, faintly sensed that the scale within the light underwent a magical transformation.
The dazzling brilliance persisted for more than ten minutes before slowly converging and ultimately disappearing, leaving only a faint magic halo enveloping the golden-yellow scale. The genuine magic rune had vanished, now completely concealed within the scale, giving it a more sacred appearance than before.
"It truly succeeded" Ivan exclaimed, walking over to stroke the scale with his hand.
As the creator of the scale, Ivan swiftly grasped its function. By activating the scale's ability and having it witness the contract, both signatories could receive the endorsement of Earth's consciousness. The contract, preserved in the energy of the two parties and the Earth's consciousness, possessed a safeguard. Any attempt to destroy it would be obliterated by this energy.
"Now, let's see how effective it is. We'll need to prepare some contract paper, but ordinary paper won't suffice. We'll use paper with magical effects. I remember reading about a magical potion in the Hogwarts Library that, when applied to parchment, forms magical paper."
"However, parchment contracts are suitable for ordinary people. For powerful wizards, dragon skin paper is preferable. Wizards in the magical world specialize in selling materials from fire dragons. I can ask Borgin to help me collect some. But for higher-level beings, we need a contract paper with a stronger effect. It seems only Smaug will do. Having awakened the blood of the ancient dragon race, taking a bit of dragon skin from it won't take long and it will regenerate quickly."
Although Ivan possessed numerous magical items, high-tech equipment, and various peculiar items, he had already discerned their principles through research. Now, he had found an effective method for exchanging them, anticipating countless magical items coming his way. (img in Patreon)
The more he contemplated, the more excited he became. However, the crucial task at hand was to test the effectiveness of the trading balance. Ivan promptly contacted the Red Queen, who swiftly sent the required magic materials. In just ten minutes, Ivan had the necessary magic potion. After soaking a few pieces of parchment, he obtained the magic contract paper he needed. The next step was to find an experimental subject.
"Red Queen, have Winky select an elf couple from Skull Island."
In no time, the house elf Winky brought two elves to the castle. Unaware that they were about to become Ivan's experimental subjects, the elf couple marveled at the towering structure of the castle. Ivan wasted no time and presented a parchment contract in front of them.
"Here's a contract. Take a look, and if there are no issues, you can sign it." Ivan spared no words, placing the contract before the astonished elves.
After Ivan finished speaking, he began to toy with the golden scale on the table in front of him, seemingly ignoring the two elves present. Although Ivan's demeanor wasn't pleasant, the elves harbored no intention of complaint. Servility was deeply ingrained, and serving their master, even unto death, was considered an honor. The curse upon the elves had a profound impact on their hearts.
The two elves, initially frightened by Ivan's inexplicable demands, showed no resistance. Even if they had wanted to resist, they couldn't. They accepted the parchment contract and examined its contents.
The contract brought relief to the elves. It wasn't demanding or hazardous; instead, it was a love contract, allowing them to love each other while refraining from romantic involvement with other elves. This posed no difficulty for the elf couple. Following Ivan's instructions, they cut their claws and inscribed their names on the contract.
A magical spectacle unfolded. As the two elves wrote their names, the golden scale emitted a radiant golden light onto the parchment contract. The names on the contract appeared to burn, merging into a ball before gradually condensing into two distinct points. These points then entered the foreheads of the two elves.
"How is it? How do you feel? Speak" Ivan, keenly observing the elves, impatiently inquired.
"Ah? Uh..." The two house elves, still bewildered by the unexpected occurrence, touched their foreheads, trying to comprehend what had entered their minds. When Ivan pressed for an answer, they hesitated for a moment.
"Don't 'ah' me! Just tell me how you feel, no beating around the bush!" Ivan added impatiently.
Finally grasping the situation, one elf quickly responded, "It's nothing special, but there's something in my mind. It feels wonderful as if the contract's content is imprinted in my mind. I understand it well, and I know that violating the contract will result in severe punishment, perhaps even loss of life."
The other elf concurred with a nod, sharing a similar experience.
"Hahaha! I succeeded! I'm a genius! Wow, quack..." Ivan burst into laughter, a stream of ecstatic words flowing from his mouth.
"Um... Master, are you alright? Do you need me to fetch a doctor?" The two elves, nearly embracing each other in fear, wondered if their master had contracted some form of madness, contemplating the possibility of administering medicine.
Ivan's laughter abruptly ceased. Though he didn't sense the elves' thoughts, their expressions indicated their apprehension. His good mood vanished, and he glared at them, clearly displeased.
"Get lost! None of your business! And keep today's events a secret, or you'll face dire consequences."
"Yes, master"
The two elves hastily agreed, casting frightened glances at Ivan before swiftly exiting the door, disappearing in no time.
Staring at the scale on the table, Ivan couldn't seem to get enough. Now armed with the trading balance, he could masquerade as a mystical being and make deals with people. However, selling his items to ordinary folks was out of the question.
"It looks like I need to create a magical item, a designated space for trading with people. It has to be magical, unique, and mysterious. I need to package it well to instill confidence in the trader and allow for self-improvement."
Ivan's mind raced, and soon an idea struck him. He decided to create his second super magical item that day.
