Ivan had his hands full appeasing Simba, and then he checked the situation. Mixing so many magical animals would normally lead to fights, but thanks to the black dragon Smaug's dominance, all the Fantastic Beasts remained humble, allowing for peaceful coexistence.
During each visit, Ivan was a mission. He'd turn his attention to a phoenix soaring in the sky, which had nearly ten long tails. With a simple gesture, Ivan prompted the phoenix to land beside him, albeit a little apprehensive. He proceeded to draw a vial of blood from the phoenix, and after obtaining the sample, he noticed the bird appeared weary. Quickly, he offered a vial of potion.
The phoenix's eyes brightened upon seeing the potion, and it eagerly gestured for Ivan to pour it. This medicine, created by Ivan, had the remarkable ability to purify the phoenix's blood. After the phoenix consumed the elixir, it affectionately nuzzled Ivan before taking flight.
Ivan's phoenix was larger than most, but he remained unsatisfied because it still fell short of the legendary flame phoenix he envisioned, both in size and power. To bridge this gap, he knew he needed to find a special magical flame, akin to the divine fire, for the phoenix to consume. The challenge lay in locating this elusive flame.
Putting these concerns aside, Ivan spent his time with Simba and the other creatures on the island. However, his actions stirred jealousy in a young sea-dwelling behemoth that frequently whimpered, sending tremors through the island's inhabitants. It took Ivan some time to pacify the creature and restore peace.
The sea behemoth, the Star whale, posed a considerable danger with its enormous size, capable of causing tsunamis when agitated. Fortunately, Star whales were typically gentle, though occasionally mischievous, causing no harm.
As evening descended, Ivan mounted the black dragon once more and returned to the base. He never worried about the safety of the Fantastic Beasts' home with Smaug's protection; any other creatures on the island were mere prey for Smaug, including the so-called dinosaurs.
Back at the base, Ivan went to his living quarters. Along the way, the guards offered swift salutes, their eyes filled with admiration for the man who tamed a sixty-seven-meter-long black dragon, turning Ivan into a legend.
Instead of resting upon his return, Ivan proceeded to his laboratory. After arriving, he pressed a concealed switch that opened an automatic hidden door. Ivan entered through a secret passage into an underground chamber.
In the laboratory, Ivan added the phoenix's blood he had collected into a device, which, after several procedures, yielded a few drops of golden-red liquid with a fiery scent. He then retrieved a small bottle from a storage box, containing more than half of the liquid. Ivan transferred the freshly extracted liquid into the bottle, and the liquid inside flickered with a red light as if holding a hidden flame.
Observing the contents of the bottle, Ivan sighed in resignation. The amount was still insufficient, considering he only had one phoenix from which to draw blood. To meet his requirements, he would have to wait for the right opportunity.
Ivan returned the bottle to the storage box and then approached a glass window. Through the glass, he could see a vast space on the other side, a rounded chamber with metallic walls.
This space held a device known as a brain wave intensifier, several times larger than Professor X's future brain wave intensifier. Suspended in the center of the intensifier was an intricate device resembling a brain, with nano-robots constantly in motion.
Ivan had crafted this device based on Emma, the White Queen's brain model. It could monitor mutants worldwide in conjunction with the brain wave intensifier.
Below the suspended brain model, a network of pipes resembled a sprawling tree with numerous bags filled with liquid, serving as genetic cultivation equipment sourced from the Kryptonian spacecraft.
The end of the gene-culture equipment was connected to a bone emitting light blue light, submerged in the nutrient solution. This bone was originally part of a suspected member of the Celestial group. Ivan had meticulously prepared the bone, drilling nearly 10,000 imperceptible small holes, each housing a nano-robot storing a mutant gene.
Further down, another intricate device came into view, its top adorned with blue crystals, numbering in the thousands. These were space energy crystals extracted from the cosmic cube.
This device represented Ivan's greatest achievement over the past three years. Returning to Skull Island, he had focused on genetic research. His insight came when he considered the nearly immortal liches, who achieved immortality through a phylactery containing a fragment of their soul. Upon death, they'd be resurrected into a new body. Ivan pondered whether this principle could apply to others, granting them a second chance at life.
Ivan dubbed this device the "Cradle Of Rebirth". It worked in tandem with the brain model of Emma, the White Queen, and the brain wave intensifier to locate mutants globally.
When the device detected a mutant's presence, it triggered the thousands of space energy crystals below to create a small bean-sized space wormhole. Nano-robots were released to extract a sample of the mutant's blood, which was then stored.
If a mutant died, the Red Queen would be alerted by the brainwave intensifier. Red devil would go to the deceased mutant's coordinates, collect their soul, and return it to Skull Island.
The preserved mutant cells would flow into the culture sac through the pipeline, experiencing fetal development anew. Ivan had discovered that the energy stored in the bone could fully substitute the trace elements essential for human cloning, ensuring no genetic defects.
Ivan employed a special method to accelerate the process, allowing a clone to reach the equivalent of 30 years of age in a month.
However, when it came to age, Ivan added a humane touch. If the deceased mutant was younger than thirty, their body would be restored to its original age. But for those older than thirty, their bodies, even those in their 60s or 70s, would be awakened once they regained their souls. They could then choose between a rejuvenated body or retaining their original state.
Since its creation, the Mutant Rebirth Cradle has been used nearly a hundred times, resulting in the resurrection of more than a hundred mutants. These resurrected individuals made varying choices for their future.
Some, tired of being mistreated and feared as mutants, opted to stay on the island, contributing as best they could to earn their keep. These mutants generally possessed lesser abilities. Others chose to return to the ordinary world but were already deceased, posing a potential shock to society. Ivan granted them new identities to prevent panic. Those who departed the island had their memories erased, with one clear condition: there was only one chance for resurrection, and if they died again, they would not be brought back.
To erase their memories, Ivan implemented a multi-layered process: first, a forgetting spell, followed by a memory-erasing potion, and finally, nano-robot surgery on their brain's memory center to ensure they forgot all about the island.
