After Ivan and his party went ashore, they embarked on a gradual exploration of the island. The jungle was dense, and it was evident that the island had a thriving ecosystem. As a result, there was no shortage of food, and various creatures roamed the area.

While they walked, Ivan noticed that his psychic powers were somewhat suppressed on the island, and his exploration range was limited to only fifty or sixty meters, which made him exercise increased caution.

The group soon stumbled upon some ancient relics, old-style houses hinting at prior human habitation on the island. Yet, considering the circumstances, the inhabitants appeared to be in a primitive state of ignorance.

During their journey, Ivan intermittently stopped to collect stones and plant specimens along the way. While he was plucking leaves from a peculiar plant, he sensed a looming danger in the distance.

"Be cautious" Arnold bellowed loudly, positioning himself protectively in front of Ivan. His gaze was fixed ahead, and his gun was raised, mirroring the actions of the other fighters.

As they looked up, they observed a dark shadow rapidly approaching from a distance. Almost instinctively, everyone opened fire, and a barrage of gunshots resounded. The black shadow paused, emitted a shrill cry, flapped its wings a few times, and then retreated.

Although they had averted the crisis, the group was far from jubilant. When they had clashed moments earlier, they had glimpsed the appearance of the attacking shadow, which took them by surprise. It was a pterosaur.

"What is that? Are my eyes playing tricks on me?" the Red Devil asked in disbelief.

Red Devil possessed supernatural abilities and was undoubtedly stronger than Arnold, but his reaction time was somewhat lacking. So he approached Ivan at this point.

"It's not an illusion. That was indeed a pterosaur. Could it be that we've somehow traveled back to the Jurassic period? How is that possible?" he inquired.

"Nothing is impossible. That was a pterosaur. Along the way, I've come across various long-extinct species and even some ancient plants from the records. This island is peculiar, likely due to its preservation of the Jurassic period's environment. This has allowed these supposedly extinct plants to reappear," Ivan explained, revealing his prior knowledge of the island's unique nature.

Following Ivan's explanation, the others comprehended the situation. At this point, Arnold turned to Ivan with a grave expression and said, "Master, the circumstances here have exceeded my expectations. It's exceedingly dangerous. It might be best to temporarily retreat and return with a larger group to investigate the island. It would be safer."

Ivan waved his hand. "No, as a scientist and researcher, I can't back down in the face of danger. You need not worry too much. I'm not as vulnerable as you may think. I possess the means to protect myself. Let's continue our journey. For a scientist, investigating the unknown is the greatest joy, and I won't miss such a unique opportunity."

Seeing Ivan's unwavering determination, Arnold had no choice but to lead the group onward. However, he intensified his protection of Ivan and resolved to ensure Ivan's safety, even if it meant sacrificing himself in the event of danger.

Subsequently, Ivan and his party encountered several more attacks. They faced creatures several meters long, armed with fangs, enormous lizards, long-legged spiders, and massive arachnids measuring more than 20 meters in length. There were even serpentine monsters.

While a variety of monsters assailed them, the weapons wielded by Arnold and his team were far from feeble, and they ultimately prevailed, vanquishing the creatures in the hands of elite soldiers led by Arno.

As night fell, everyone found a resting spot, though they couldn't sleep soundly. They were attacked twice, and while they managed to slay the menacing creatures, two team members sustained minor injuries.

Early the next morning, after a hasty breakfast, the group continued their journey. A few miles into their trek, a whistle sounded from the grass beside them, and a dozen spears were hurled in their direction.

The elite fighters showcased their abilities, rolling to evade the spears, with just one unfortunate individual struck in the leg. The rest remained unharmed, sought cover, and returned fire.

Soon, it became apparent that the attackers were not monsters but humans. However, these humans appeared unusual, their dark skin and peculiar features resembling primitive people who had not yet fully evolved. Their bodies were covered in hair, their brow ridges and mouths protruded, their noses were flat, and their eyes were deeply set. They had not yet evolved into modern humans.

These savages emitted guttural sounds, and although the group couldn't comprehend their language, their fierce countenances signaled trouble.

Some of the opponents wielded stone spears as their primary weapons. They were quickly overwhelmed and forced to retreat by Ivan and his group. During the skirmish, an errant spear was thrown towards Ivan, who skillfully dodged it and reached out to catch the stone-tipped projectile. He couldn't help but marvel at the strength behind the throw; these primitive people were two or three times stronger than the average person.

"Switch to heavy firepower, use all available ammunition, and don't show mercy. Let's resolve this battle swiftly," Ivan ordered, recognizing the formidable strength of their adversaries. He had decided against taking any prisoners, as he didn't want his subordinates to suffer losses.

Arnold immediately instructed his team to deploy rocket launchers, grenades, and other heavy firepower. After a series of explosive blasts, the primitive people suffered heavy casualties, and they quickly fled the scene.

Arnold contemplated pursuing the retreating tribe but was halted by Ivan. Suddenly, Ivan's sleeve melted, and a swarm of metallic-colored mosquitoes emerged, buzzing their wings as they pursued the fleeing primitive people. Ivan could sense the mosquitoes' positions, allowing him to stealthily track the group.

With the escaped primitive people leading the way, Ivan and his group made quick progress on their journey. Although they encountered various monsters in the vicinity, the primitive people exhibited significant experience in dealing with them. Ivan and his team followed their lead, maintaining a relaxed pace. Along the way, Ivan even had the Red Devil secretly steal a dinosaur egg from a nest. He intended to bring it back for research.

Tracking their way, it didn't take long for Ivan to locate the primitive tribe's settlement. The tribe was located near the coastline, using towering reefs as natural defenses against the sea's force and the ocean breeze. On one side, there were towering peaks, and the only access to the tribe was through a gorge.

Ivan assessed the terrain surrounding the tribe and identified it as the ideal location to establish a base. He had a plan in mind.

With their objective confirmed, Ivan ceased his exploration of the island and retraced their steps, returning to the ship within half a day.

Upon reaching the ship, Ivan issued several orders to Kerry and waited on board. Three days later, a large vessel arrived as scheduled, carrying three hundred armed elite soldiers, prepared to mount an assault on the primitive tribe. Their mission was to establish a beachhead for further exploration of the island.

The two large ships sailed into the fog-covered sea area, ultimately landing along the coast near the primitive tribe. The soldiers disembarked and moved stealthily. Ivan was also concealed among them.

Initially, Ivan intended to infiltrate the vicinity of the tribe and launch a surprise attack to capture all the primitive tribe's members. However, he hadn't anticipated the presence of sharp rocks littering the shoreline. As the soldiers advanced, one unfortunate soldier had his eye scratched by the reef and let out a scream.

In anticipation of potential threats from wild creatures, the primitive tribe had stationed sentries. The soldier's scream immediately alerted the guards on duty, who sounded an alarm. The tribe swiftly mobilized, and nearly a thousand primitive people poured out of their settlement.

These savages were adorned in peculiar furs and garments made from leaves, shouting in a language incomprehensible to the soldiers. Some wielded spears, others crude bows and arrows, and some carried stone axes. They charged toward the soldiers.

"Prepare for battle" Arnold, the commander of the assault, reacted swiftly. Witnessing the savage charge, he immediately issued orders for his soldiers to prepare for combat.

The elite soldiers, equipped with body armor, scattered to find cover as the primitive people closed in. Fortunately, the rocky terrain provided ample shelter. The primitive people hurled their spears, causing several unfortunate soldiers to be struck. Though injured, their armor protected them from fatal harm.

Gunshots rang out as the elite soldiers opened fire with their machine guns. A barrage of bullets mowed down the advancing primitive people in swathes, creating a horrific scene of carnage.

After the initial spear attack, the primitive people found themselves largely unable to retaliate. They suffered heavy casualties under the withering gunfire. Driven by fear, they began to flee.

"Charge"

Arnold ordered the attack. The soldiers emerged from cover and advanced while firing at the fleeing primitive people.

After a fierce battle that spanned nearly half the day, the primitive people were overwhelmed. Their fear prompted them to turn and run back to their tribe. Surrounding the tribe was a rudimentary wooden and stone city wall. Primitive people atop the wall utilized their vantage point to shower arrows upon Arnold's team and halt their advance.

"Rocket artillery team, advance and concentrate fire on the city gate," Arnold ordered. A dozen soldiers equipped with rocket launchers moved forward and aimed at the city gate. With a thunderous explosion, the wooden gate was blown apart. The resounding firepower of the rocket launchers enabled Arnold and his men to surge forward, penetrating the primitive tribe.

Inside the tribe, the primitive people realized the battle was lost. Men, women, children, and elders alike began to flee, causing chaos. Arnold and his team pursued relentlessly.

The primitive people eventually fled back to the city, which was encircled by a makeshift wall constructed from wood and stones. Primitive people stationed on the wall used their bows and arrows to deter Arnold's group from advancing.

"Advance and concentrate firepower on the city wall" Arnold commanded. The rocket artillery team unleashed a salvo of explosions that rocked the wall and created gaps. Under the protection of intense firepower, Arnold and his men charged forward and entered the primitive tribe.

Realizing the battle was lost, the primitive people began to flee in all directions, creating chaos within the tribe. Arnold led his team in pursuit. However, he moved too quickly, leaving the soldiers behind, and only a dozen elite troops could keep up. Ivan, hidden among the soldiers, observed the situation from a distance at first and had no intention of joining the chase. However, he noticed that the fleeing primitive people seemed to be headed in a specific direction. This piqued his interest, and he decided to follow Arnold and the others in pursuit.
