Your target frequents a club located near the heart of downtown Melysia called Cyber City. Observed patterns have suggested that he attends every Thursday and Friday night, so choose a day that you please. Do be aware, the club is often overcrowded, meaning that witnesses will be everywhere.
Good luck, Klyson. }
The night was young.
Me and Soho had just stepped foot into the club, Cyber City, past the bouncer by using fake IDs Ian had developed for us. Upon first glance, neon signs and lights were plastered everywhere with a spectrum of colors. The sound of heavy bass resonated throughout the building as music was blasted from speakers in various places. The smell of booze, slick with sweat, could be smelt in the foggy air that acted as a medium for the beams of lights that flashed all over the dance floor crowded with people.
"He wasn't kidding about it being overcrowded," I said to Soho. I saw her glancing over at the bar.
"My mind tells me that it wants alcohol, but my heart tells me to stay loyal to Draz."
I laughed. "No drinking on the job, Soho."
We walked around the perimeter of the club, taking mental note of who suspiciously looked on-guard. Often at clubs in downtown Melysia, bouncers would wear clothing that made them appear as if they were just any regular guest.
Next was outlining our target. According to the photo I was provided, Zion had his hair fully shaved on the sides, and a slicked-back top dyed red. He wore black formal clothing such as dress shoes, dress pants, and a blazer, and was accessorized with gold rings and a gold chain.
"He's pimped-out," Soho said. "But everyone here is dressed the same way, and there's so many of them too. I can already count dozens of guys who are dressed just like him. I don't think we'll be able to find him just out in the blue."
With the dim setting, yet bright flashing colors in unorganized pacing, it was nearly impossible to distinguish Zion in a crowd that resembled his style.
"You can't pull of what you did at the Grand Cordial?" Soho asked me.
I shook my head. "A single eye can only handle so many distractions all at once. I think we're going to have to go with the secondary plan."
"Plan B? But won't that risk getting us exposed?"
"I don't think we've got a choice, Soho. I can count on you, right?"
Hesitant at first, she quickly overcame the doubts and nodded. "You can."
The DJ had suddenly switched the song to one that was upbeat and popular. As if the dance floor wasn't already crowded, even more people from the lounges and bar joined in on the fun that had begun in the center of the club.
"He's more likely than not to be in that crowd. Now's the time," I told Soho.
She immediately set out towards the dance floor, approaching the corner furthest away from me.
According to Ian's notes about Zion's Fractal, this should work.
The plan was simple. Soho would situate herself in a place where she could make contact with the dance floor to use her Fractal. When it would become its most crowded, a time likely for Zion to be present, she would use Kinetic to cause everyone to slip. And if our hypothesis was right, besides Soho, Zion should be the only one remaining standing due to his Fractal's passive ability to readjust his body's balance.
He's a direct counter to Soho's Kinetic. But we can use that to expose his position.
I watched as Soho disappeared into the crowd. Everyone on the dance floor was in motion, jumping with drunken fun, causing the ground beneath to vibrate every time they landed and stomped. As the music in the club got louder, and everyone got crazier, my heart began to beat faster. I could feel the moment drawing near—I would make my move and take my leave immediately. I had to be quick.
As soon as you're exposed, I won't take my eye off of you, Zion.
The music was building up, the DJ was hyping the crowd, and the drop was soon approaching. The energy in the club was peaking in this very moment. By now, I had stood up from my seat to get a better glimpse of the event to unfold. It would happen when everyone least expected, except for me.
The bass is going to drop.
"Kinetic!"
I heard Soho's voice call out in the crowd, immediately masked by the music's beat dropping, and everyone's screams as they all slipped and fell to the floor. What were once oscillations of people jumping up and down, was now an instantaneous drop of bodies straight to the colorful panels on the ground.
Thump—!!!
Everyone had fallen. I only expected to see two people remain standing in random places apart. What I didn't expect to see was Zion standing directly behind Soho, looming over her shoulder.
"It seems as though my sources were correct."
He whispered into her ear.
"There is a new executioner on the loose."
