"Bai Jue?" Hou Chi called out to him and he fell off the tree that he was laying on. Bai Jue got up from the ground and looked up to find Hou Chi standing not too far from him, he stood up and ran towards her.
"Hou Chi!" Bai Jue called out her name and pulled her into his arms, it wasn't long before the others arrived at the gate to welcome her back as well.
"WELCOME BACK WINTER GODDESS, HOU CHI!" they all said bowing down in greeting to her.
"Everyone at ease." Hou Chi said to them, almost forgetting the heavenly rules since in the demon realm they weren't so uptight with the greeting and bowing.
"A'Chi." Er'Xi said and ran to hug her
"Er'Xi. It's been too long." Hou Chi said to her
"Hou Chi!" Shang Gu and Chang Ge cried out as they ran over to hug Hou Chi as well. Hou Chi chuckled as she hugged them back, she has missed her sisters the most while she was in the demon realm.
"I've missed you all as well." Hou Chi said but they couldn't hug her for too long, Bai Jue pulled everyone off of her.
"Everyone can go back to their palace!" Bai Jue said to them and all of the lower gods and goddesses left but not the true gods and the other season goddesses. Bai Jue glared at them
"Where were all of you when I was drowning myself in alcohol?" Bai Jue asked them and they all chuckled
"This and that are two different matters." Qing Mu said to him and Bai Jue glared at him
"What took you so long?" Chang Ge asked her and Hou Chi let out a long and loud sigh
"It would take a while to explain it to you." Hou Chi said to them but the ladies all smile and took her hand
"We have all the time in the world." Er'Xi said to her and dragged her away from a clinging Bai Jue
"Eh! EH! Come back here!" Bai Jue shouted but was held back by the other true gods
"It is best that you let the ladies have her for a while." Qing Mu said to him and Bai Jue flung his arm free from Qing Mu as he stomped away from the other true gods but they followed behind.
The true gods follow behind Bai Jue into his palace
"Bai Jue, you have guest. Shouldn't you bring out the tea?" Tian Qi asked him and Bai Jue scoffed at them as he laid on his daybed outside
"Uninvited guest." Bai Jue corrected them and closed his eyes
"And here we were going to tell you something important about Hou Chi, too." Qing Mu said to him and Bai Jue sat up quickly
"What is it?" Bai Jue asked, the others has not seen this version of Bai Jue before that it was hard to believe that this was the fire god Bai Jue that they knew.
"I heard that the prince of the demon race married a man." Tian Qi said to Bai Jue
As the true gods whispered amongst themselves, the other season goddesses are also talking with each other as well.
As soon as they walked into the Fours season palace, Hou Chi was bombarded with questions about the demon prince's marriage and what took her so long to come back since Hou Yu was left behind in the nine heaven realm and Hou Chi didn't report or write to them at all.
Hou Chi smiled at them and sat down on the chair in the main palace of the four palace.
"Was there news that the prince of the demon realm married another demon instead of a demoness?" Hou Chi asked them and they all nodded their head in unison.
"Well, the truth is that prince Da Qi of the demon realm is actually a princess of the demon realm instead and now she is the queen of the demon realm." Hou Chi said to them and they all looked at her in disbelief
"She is Chi Wu's sister, if you do not believe in what I said. You can ask Chi Wu to tell you the truth." Hou Chi said to them but they shook their head
"How come we've never heard of a princess within the demon royal heritage?" Shang Gu asked her and she smile
"I found this secret out when I went down to the demon realm a few thousand years ago by chance when the princess thought that Chi Wu was the only one who could hear her. I learned that her mother who was a royal concubine of the demon king at the time because she also wanted her daughter to be safe but to also have rights to the throne as well. Thus it was concealed and even the king didn't know." Hou Chi said to them and the three of them nodded their head
"Then why did you have to go to the demon realm? I really thought that you were going to marry the demon prince, I was even more sure when you didn't come back for a year." Chang Ge said to her and she nodded with a sighs
"That was because when the war within the demon race ended, I casually made a promise to help the princess that if she was ever to get marry I would be the one to put it all together for her. Who would've thought that she would get married only a few hundred years later." Hou Chi said to them
"So why didn't you return to the nine heaven realm after the wedding?" Er'Xi asked her and she nodded
"The wedding didn't happen until four months later and right after the wedding there was of course the honeymoon." Hou Chi said to them and they also nodded again
"But that wouldn't had taken over a year." Er'Xi said
"The honeymoon lasted over another 2 and a half months. When the two came back there was news that they were expecting." Hou Chi said to them but before the three could come up with more questions Hou Chi answered before they could ask her.
"When the two of them came back to the demon realm from their honeymoon, Da Qi the demon queen, her morning sickness was extreme and the newly appointed king was worried about him. Thus I was stuck taking care the demon realm's paperwork and other work while the demon king was nursing his wife." Hou Chi said to them
"Then-" Shang Gu was about to say and Hou Chi nodded
"I stayed until Da Qi gave birth the the cute little prince, named him and blessed him before I came here. That is all there is to say." Hou Chi said to them as she conjured up some hot tea and took a long sip from the tea before setting it down.
"Then will you go right back to work?" Er'Xi asked her and Hou Chi shook her head as she slowly lay her arm on the back of her chair and rested her head on her arm.
"I do not want to look at another single paper." Hou Chi said and the three of them chuckled
"What is it?" Hou Chi asked them
"Someone who bury herself in paperwork all the time doesn't want to look at another paper? Now that's funny." Shang Gu said to her and she smiled to herself
"Maybe, I've learned how to be lazy after I remember living life as a human." Hou Chi said to them and the three of them stopped laughing
"You what?" Er'Xi asked her and she finally opened her eyes
"...Sorry...I didn't tell you that." Hou Chi said to them and then a loud thud came from the door and Bai Jue was standing there.
"You-You remember living as a human?" Bai Jue asked her with a shaky voice, Hou Chi said nothing
"D-Did you remember....your feelings towards me?" Bai Jue asked as he walked over slowly toward her but Hou Chi stood up from the chair
"I...I do remember." Hou Chi said to him with a smile slowly spread on Bai Jue's face
"Then Why did you not tell me?" Bai Jue asked her and she turned to look at him with tears dripping down her face
"How was I supposed to say anything after I saw how you were after I left you?" Hou Chi asked him and he held onto her hand
"You didn't leave me, you were killed in cold blood." Bai Jue said to her, his voice breaking as he cried and Hou Chi smiled sadly as she whipped his tears away.
"But after you being in so much pain after my death, it pains me more and I didn't know how I should tell you." Hou Chi said with tears as well
The other can only sneak away as the two love birds finally reunite. The whole night, the two of them talked about what they'd been doing since they were away from each other and before they found out about their turbulence with each other.
