In London, carriages are the most common form of transportation.

Although the Mechanical Research Institute had long developed steam cars, due to the difficulty of repair and maintenance, they had never been the mainstay of city transportation. Some nobles could only treat them as decorations in their courtyards after buying the steam cars. They still had to take carriages when they went out.

On the other hand, those rail cars that could only travel along fixed tracks were a little more popular. A short journey cost 1 pence, while a medium journey cost 5 pence. Traveling over long distances or across the Thames cost 15 pence.

It was not expensive, but one just had to endure the crowding in the carriage, the stench of sweat, and some vomit that they did not have time to clean up the night before.
