The war was in full swing, with Duloc advancing further and further into the Central regions, while the forces of the Duchies did everything they could to stop Duloc's advance, fighting tooth and nail to prevent the invaders from continuing to take everything from their lands.

Several Barons and some of the Counts of the Central regions of the Duchies prepared the fortifications of their cities and territories while sending armies to slow the Dulocian advance; with this having little or no effect, some Nobles, who did not want to lose their Fiefs, decided to start surrendering to Duloc.

In a city under the command of Count Emilian Humbard, we could see the Local Militia, along with some Knights of House Humbard patrolling, but not only that, but it was also possible to see Dulocian soldiers on the streets of the city, with them mainly on the walls and in the city center.

In the Count's Castle, we can see Count Humbard, a thin man with a well-groomed beard, brown eyes, blond hair, and healthy white skin, wearing aristocratic clothes and a ring on his right finger; he was in an office next to Dulocian Officer, who was protected by 4 soldiers.

"Lord Julian, I surrendered to Duloc in all honesty, but I heard that a so-called 'Military Governor' will come to govern my lands, why is that?" Count Emilian Humbard asked calmly as he looked at the officer, wanting to understand what was happening.

"It is the normal practice of the Army, all occupied territories must have a Governor to ensure that order and supply lines are guaranteed, but do not worry, Count Humbard, as long as you do not dare to do anything against the Dulocian State, civil or common matters will still be under your administration, but the most important things must be under the direct direction of the Governor" Officer Julian said seriously while having his arms crossed, looking at Emilian Humbard, who sighed in relief.

"I understand, Mister Julian, do not worry, the House Humbard will fully collaborate with Duloc and therefore, your Military Governor" Emilian said as he nodded, now understanding the implications of what it meant to have a Military Governor in his city.

While he didn't like having to hand over some of his powers to a soldier, he understood that Duloc wouldn't trust him, which was quite understandable. If they trusted a Noble who had just surrendered to their Armies, the Dulocians would be considered the biggest idiots possible. Besides, at least his Noble House is safe for now.

"One more thing, certain groups of the Police will come to this city to help the Order. The Militia will no longer be needed while the police are here," Julian said to Emilian, who was surprised but soon swallowed hard, feeling quite worried.

He had heard about the brutality that the police had towards anyone who didn't obey the laws or tried to commit acts of rebellion. If what he heard was true, he should ensure that everyone in the Humbard House Domain obeyed all Dulocian Laws, no matter how absurd some of them might be.

"U-understood, Lord Julian, I will ensure that the Militia is dismissed," Emilian said as he tried to stay calm.

"Good," Julian said as he put his Pickelhaube back on before leaving Emilian's office with his Personal Guards.

I was signing some important papers in my office, as well as gathering a pile of papers that are documents talking about the various soldiers and officers who were candidates for the Nobility of my future Kaiserreich, with several achieving impressive achievements.

However, not all of them will become Nobles with lands, as there would be no way to give land to everyone, which is why I would use the Nobles with no land to create another type of Aristocracy, almost a Capitalist Class that would ensure that the Economy would turn.

"God, I'm working nonstop... I need a vacation in the future," I say to myself sighing tiredly, commanding a future Grand Duchy that will become an Empire is tiring, both physically and mentally.

I soon heard a knock on the door, and I soon saw Oliver coming in with some more papers.

"Mi'lord, we have more reports and requests from officers from the Front, as well as candidates for the position of Military Governor of the other territories that were taken," Oliver said to me as he handed me the papers, with me sighing with tiredness and anger.

While Joseph suffered with the paperwork, on the Front lines, Henry was on a battlefield, which was in chaos, where several corpses of enemy soldiers and Dulocians could be seen, with both sides fighting with nails and claws.

Henry took his flintlock and pointed it at a Knight who was commanding some enemy soldiers, he then dodged an attack from an enemy soldier who advanced towards him screaming like an idiot, Henry then stuck his hatchet in the enemy's back before pulling it out.

The battlefield smelled like a mixture of gunpowder and blood; smoke continued to rise, and gunshots rang out. Several Dulocians were stabbing their enemies with their bayonets or fighting with their fists, as well as using their Pickelhaube tips to stab someone in the eye.

The Baron who commanded the enemy troops and his Personal Guard were trying to defend themselves against the enemy until they saw Dulocian reinforcements from afar, none other than the Dulocian Cavalry advancing with sabers and flintlocks in their hands.

Soon, several of the Baron's Personal Guards were killed before the Dulocian Cavalry began a saber and sword fight against them, with the Baron being wounded in the process, with a saber cutting off one of his arms before another stabbed the saber in his mouth, killing him for good.

"Baron Migur is dead!" A Knight of the Baron shouted upon seeing such a scene, he tried to flee before being impaled by the bayonets of some soldiers.

But this scream was enough for several to start to notice, with many starting to flee in retreat, with the others doing the same while some stayed and fought until the end with hatred in their eyes, only to be killed by the Dulocian soldiers before they began to hunt the enemies who were fleeing.

Henry, seeing that the battle was won, breathes tiredly before sitting on the ground and sees a Cavalry officer coming to him.

"Hauptmann Henry, I apologize for the delay, we had some unforeseen events on the way here, the damned ones had a second force that was destined to go against us" Said the Officer as he got off his horse and went to Henry, who nodded tiredly.

"It's okay, in the end what matters is that we won, the bastards are now leaderless, taking this Barony will be easy now for the rest of the troops" Henry said as he stood up, with the officer nodding his head.

"Yes, we better take care of the wounded" The officer said as he already saw some Dulocian soldiers carrying those who were wounded or treating them quickly so that the situation would not get worse.

"Agreed" Henry said as he rolled up the sleeves of his uniform and went to help the soldiers.
