Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8: IN THE NATION OF DWARVES

I was told that it takes Orcs two months to walk to the Dwarfier kingdom. Thanks to Arashi and his pack, we made it in four days.

[The Nation of Dwarves]

"That's where the elves... No, the Dwarves live, huh? I hope we can meet some lovely elves... No, some skilled Dwarves!"

Keishu asked,

"Great Ken, do you truly wish to go in with just Orcki?"

I replied,

"Yeah, I figure we won't stand out so much with just two of us. I'm taking Orcki because he's our guide."

Keishu replied,

"But-"

Orcki interrupted,

"It'll be fine!"

Arashi mumbled,

"Master..."

I replied to them,

"No need to worry! We'll be back soon, so wait here."

As we walked to the gate of Dwarfier, I felt so small because of the gigantic walls. This place is super secured; I guess no one can enter without passing through the gigantic gate,

"What a long line; the screening seems pretty strict,"

Orcki replied,

"But once we get in, we can do whatever we like."

I replied,

"Whatever we like... elves!"

Two humans entered the line, saying,

"Oi! Oi! Oi! Oi! Is there a monster here?"

"We're not inside yet, so nobody will care if we kill them, right?"

Yeah, someone's picking a fight. Sometimes people need to learn a lesson in kindness.

I asked Orcki,

"Hey, Orcki, did you hear something just now?"

Orcki replied,

"Yeah, I heard. I got beaten up pretty badly the last time I came, and now I'm gonna die... It's the fate of us weak monsters."

I replied,

"Fate, huh?"

The thugs shouted,

"Hey, weakling, don't ignore us!"

"Hey, bro, aren't DeathBringers rare? We could sell tickets to see one!"

I asked Orcki,

"Orcki, you remember rule number one, right?"

Orki replied,

"Yes, sir! Of course, sir! Rule number one: Do not attack humans!"

I replied to him,

"Well then, please close your eyes and plug your ears for a bit. You absolutely must not open them."

Orcki replied to me,

"R-roger, sir!"

I walked up to the two thugs and said,

"Oi, Oi, what am I to you?"

The thugs replied,

"What? Hahaha, you're just a weakling monster!"

"You and your friend will be our prey for today!"

I replied,

"Haha...ha...ha, a weakling huh? I'll give you this one chance. Get out of here!"

...

The thugs replied,

"Look at this damn weakling monster getting all cocky! Don't take us lightly, damn it!"

"You're dead! You weakling shit!"

I said,

"Oh, there's a trash talker here too?"

"A damn weakling? Is that supposed to mean me?!"

The thugs replied,

"Of course it's you, idiot!"

"You're the only weakling here!"

I replied to them,

"Oh, so you see me as a mere monster?"

I mumbled,

"Well, I'm a monster though."

I continued,

"Heh heh heh, where did you get the foolish idea that I'm just a monster? Allow me to show you my true form!"

And I just secretly copied the body of the previous leader of the Direwolves.

"Why am I so big? Did I also evolve? Oh, well, it's no problem."

The thugs said, pulling their swords,

"Heh, that's a showy bluff!"

"Did you think we'd get scared and run?"

I mumbled,

"Come on, why don't you just run? I don't want to kill someone right now."

I shouted,

"Ugh, fine, have it your way. Come on! Bring it on, baldy thugs!"

The thugs replied while sweating,

"Heh, it's your funeral!"

"You guys, help out!"

I mumbled,

"There's more of them?"

The thugs dashed towards me with their swords, saying,

"Take this!"

"Taste my powerful skill, you damn shit! SLASH ATTACK!"

"METAL DESTROYER!"

"FROST ARROW!"

"BARRIER!"

Their skills are good, but they're like babies throwing things at me, and they're not even making a single scratch.

The thugs said,

"N-no way!"

"My Frost arrow..."

"His fur is so hard! It's like a metal wall!"

I mumbled,

"That was not what I expected... I didn't even feel a thing. I thought I was a goner!"

I said to them,

"Did you do something just now? Now it's my turn. Wind, wind, blow!"

I didn't use a skill, though. I just blew them with my mouth so strongly that the magic barrier they made was shredded.

The mysterious voice reported,

"You've acquired a skill called WIND MAGIC. Five thugs flew into the forest caused by the force of your breath, and all the people and monsters lining up have been knocked out."

I mumbled,

"Oh no, this is a disaster! Crap, there are four guards coming! What should I do?"

The guard said while running,

"You over there! Huh? A DeathBringer?"

And then we were escorted to a small room and interviewed... in a prison room! And Orcki had been sleeping!

"What kind of guide are you? Sleeping at a time like this?"

The Captain of security, Luhi, asked,

"And then?"

I replied,

"Oh, right! Actually... that's it."

Luhi replied,

"Well, you're an Elite DeathBringer and an Orc, so you would be easy targets."

I replied,

"I was just trying to get rid of them, but I accidentally caused a lot of trouble. I'm very sorry!"

Luhi replied,

"Well, your story basically lines up with witness reports, so we can let you go this time—"

"Captain! There's trouble! There are 3 Crystal Spiders in the mine!"

- The guard shouted.

Luhi replied,

"What? Where's the hunting squad?"

The guard replied,

"They're already on their way! But Gro and his brothers were deep inside in the mining magic crystal, and they are badly hurt!"

Luhi replied,

"What about potions?"

The guard replied,

"They're being diverted to the military, so we're running low!"

Luhi replied,

"Those punks are like brothers to me. Hurry, search for more potions! Do whatever it takes!"

I said,

"Sir, use this barrel of healing potion. You can drink it or apply it to the skin. It's of high quality, I guess."

Luhi replied,

"Really?"

I replied,

"Care to try it out?"

The guard said,

"Captain, are you going to trust what this monster says?!"

Luhi opens the cell and takes the barrel saying,

"There's no time! Let's go!

The guard replied,

"Y-yes, sir, Luhi, sir!"

Luhi said to me,

"And you, stay in the cell!

Luhi cares so much for his men. Seem he's like a nice guy.
