( Jason )
I wanted to head straight for the Docks to see the full extent of their losses, but I needed to stop by my apartment first. To check on my probably dead prisoners and my hopefully unborn Queen.
"Wait here." I ordered the horde behind me, significantly bigger than before. It's pushing around 12,000 as of now, with more and more joining my Horde every minute. Just can't get enough of me by the looks of it. Like I'm crack or heroin.
Athena and Asura obviously couldn't follow me in due to the limitations of their own height. Me? Well, geniuses such as myself always figure out a solution to a tough situation. While on our way here, I came up with a way to control my size by taking inspiration from my Mimic ability.
It didn't take much to simply decrease my height from it's amazing and manly 14ft to a small and beta cuck 6ft 8in. However, taking this form makes me feel awful. Like I'm not in my own skin anymore. A super uncomfortable feeling. I suppose this also means I could have sex with the sisters now, but I'd rather wait until they're at my height.
Walking through the doors, with Lily and Alice behind me, I noticed the distinct lack of a Killgore in the area. Is she further up then? But why hadn't she come down to see me when noticing the massive horde of bumbling morons outside?
Quickly making my way up the stairs, I came upon the scene of Killgore laying in front of the door to the prisoners. She seemed to be diligent in her guard duties, keeping a watchful eye out. However, once seeing me, she got up and charged right for me with happiness.
"Ah! My gorgeous Killgore! Did you miss me?" She wagged her tail faster than light itself, nodding her head. What a good-
""Y-Ye-sh!" What the fuck! She looked at me with confusion at my sudden shock, but rubbed her head against my chest.
"J-Ja-sh-on!" Once more! I can't believe she's actually speaking to me right now. And after taking a look at the stunned sisters, they couldn't either.
Petting the joyful Killgore, I tried thinking of how such a thing could have happened. Certainly had something to do with my evolution, that much is clear. However, I don't think it was only that. Take Trixie for example. Staying around me had increased her intelligence greatly. The same thing happened with Killgore, but she was still a little dumb though.
Speaking of my little midget, turns out she's a bit of a con artist. Had me believing this whole time she couldn't talk. Turns out, she could but just didn't want to. According to her own words, 'Made me cuter'. After a little talk with her, she won't pull the same nonsense again.
Anyway, back to the lovable killer in front of me who I pushed onto the sisters, she was definitely larger than before. A little taller than the current me in fact. Her muscles were more developed and seemed powerful. Her teeth and claws gained a certain edge to them as well. Overall, a decent upgrade to be sure.
"Killgore." Getting her attention from the sisters who were loving her deeply with pets and kisses, she turned my way curiously.
"Are these things still alive?" I knocked on the door she was guarding. Without hesitation she nodded her head and got back to the sisters care.
Surprised, I opened the door and found the group of worthless meat bags inside. Some were huddled up together while the others were elsewhere. But upon seeing my majestic form, a few screamed in fear and tried escaping. Such inconsiderate assholes when you think about it. I give them food and shelter, treat them like my own. Yet they act like this towards me? Tsk, tsk.
"Calm down and tell me what happened while I was away. Quickly now, before I lose my patience." One of them, noticing who I was by my words, gathered his courage to speak. Though, his gritted teeth and voice full of hatred might mean he doesn't have good feelings for me. Just a guess really.
So as this soon dead sack of trash explained the boring events of the last few days, something interesting came to light. Killgore! The best and most genius dog to ever exist actually did feed them and provide for their needs. This was even before my evolution, which makes her achievement even better!
"Good! Now stay put, I'll be back soon enough to move you elsewhere." They became frightened at my words, clearly not expecting good things.
"Woah woah, why the long faces? You'll be with other humans soon enough, so don't worry." Closing the door, I left the trio to themselves and walked into my apartment, closing the door behind me for secrecy.
There, the egg was still in place and unbroken, making me sigh in relief. Gosh, what luck I-
The sudden sound of breaking resounded through the air, startling me. Looking at the large egg, I saw a tiny little crack appear on the surface. I hurriedly moved closer and gently placed a hand on top of it. I didn't dare send my tendrils in or try any kind of nonsense. What if I accidentally killed her?
But I could feel it. Vibrations coming from inside the egg and smashing against the side of it's wall. She was trying to break out of her shell!
"Come on my darling arachnid! Keep fighting! I believe in you!" As if she could actually hear me, the cracks increased in both size and quantity. As for why I didn't help her? Well, that was obvious.
She needed to do this for herself. If I helped her now, I'd have to baby her through every tough period of time in her life. This is also her first true hurdle. If she can't get past it and dies inside, she was worthless to begin with.
Luckily, my worries went unfounded. A portion of the egg broke open, a 'small' leg poking out from within. After coaxing her a little more, she finally emerged out of her prison completely and utterly! As she hobbled and stumbled around trying to get her bearings, I took a good look at her.
Despite being born literally three seconds ago, she was the size of a large dog. Her legs were similar to her mother's, sharp like swords but also have some strange gentleness to them. Most likely, that's for her webs when she stands on them or spins them up.
Her skin was this gorgeous deep colored silver, a shade darker than her mother. I think that has something to do with my influence, constantly messing with her mind and even shaping it at times. She had the normal eight black eyes of a normal spider, impossible to tell what goes on inside them.
Besides the usual designs across her skin, there wasn't anything that stood out. Perhaps she has something else within her, but unlocking it as of now isn't smart. I should wait until she's grown up a little first. Get used to her own body.
Suddenly, she looked my way and used her eight legs to slowly wobble over to me. I quickly bent down, holding out my arms and waiting for her. She entered into my embrace, using her legs to trace over my body as her mouth gently touched my face. If this was before the apocalypse, I would definitely be creeped out.
I could feel something suddenly enter my mind. Her emotions, being transmitted directly into my brain. Do we… have some kind of telepathic connection? It might have been because of how much time we spent connected to one another through her brain. But the emotions she was sending me were of happiness and joy. A smidgen of love mixed in as well.
"Aw! My adorable little spider!" I hugged her deeply, making her snuggle into my chest. A few kisses on the head later, and the door suddenly opened.
"Hey Jason, where's-" Alice came in nonchalantly, probably about to ask some random question when she paused. Both Lily and Killgore were behind her. So much for keeping my Queen Webspinner a secret. Oh yeah, that's right. She needs a name doesn't she?
"This here is… Queenie!" Fuck. Couldn't come up with a better name numbnuts?
"Queenie?" The two sisters looked at each other, holding in their laughs. Such assholes honestly! To make them better understand my little spider's greatness, I told the tale of her wondrous backstory! Of course such a thing lasted for a few minutes as there wasn't much to tell.
Suddenly, just as I finished, Queenie turned towards the sisters and Killgore. Without missing a beat, she hissed harshly and bared her fangs at them in a menacing manner. The thoughts and feelings she sent my way basically said she didn't trust the newcomers and wanted them gone. Her body moved quickly and hid behind me, looking for my protection.
Aw, this scary ass looking spider just warms my heart. Gently patting her on the head, I both spoke and sent the correct emotions towards her.
"It's okay Queenie, these are friends." I could tell she was confused by my words, not knowing their meaning and not truly understanding me. Well, that does make sense. She was born what? A minute or two ago?
But the emotions I sent her way did get through to her. Despite that, she hid behind me even more, not wanting to see them. Unlike with Killgore, Alice and Lily weren't really a fan of her. I could even see the slight bit of disgust on their face. Probably due to the fact Queenie is a dog sized spider. I didn't take it personally, since I knew they'd ready the same way to any oversized insect.
"Let's get going back on the road again. Queenie, will you stay here and wait for me to return?" She clung to my body, not liking the idea of separating from me.
Picking her up and holding her in my arms, we walked back out into the hallway as Lily asked a question.
"What about these guys-" She got interrupted by a few common infected suddenly walking out of the stairwell.
"I mentally communicated with them beforehand to come escort the materials. Impressive right?" I asked, looking for praise. And of course, she mocked me with a sarcastic voice.
"Yeah, so amazing. I'm in complete awe of you. Hey, can I have your autograph Mr. Badass?" She's an asshole. Lovable, but an asshole nonetheless.
I chose to ignore her and focus on my infected. They opened the door and easily corralled the screaming frightened humans out into the hallway. One of them even fainted when seeing my beautiful Queenie. Obviously, this one didn't need to live any longer.
"Kill her." I ordered, scaring the others so bad one pissed himself in fear. The common infected took no time at all to jump on the unconscious woman. He used his mouth to rip out her throat, making her suddenly wake up and scream bloody murder.
"See? This is what happens when you piss me off. Now, be quiet for the rest of our trip or you can join this stupid bitch." They all quieted down, looking away from their friend dying two feet away from them. Yet a few did throw up when hearing the sound of the woman's skin getting ripped off.
Jessica, who had just arrived with an infected behind her, went a little pale at the sight. She tried to come off as normal, but she couldn't hide the slight fear in her eyes from me. Yet the way she looked at me hadn't changed much. She still sort of worshipped me and wanted to come close.
But then! The sisters had arrived to stop this goth girl from taking their handsome, delicious, and badass prize!
"Is this her? That Jessica bitch?" Lily said, hands on her hips as she sized her up and down. Clearly, she wasn't too impressed.
"Nothing special really." She snorted and got a dangerous look in her eyes. Probably contemplating killing her. Should I stop her? Thinking that raised another question. Why should I?
It's not as if I actually like her. Sure, the goth look is awesome! But that's all. We haven't even interacted much together. When I looked towards Alice, I noticed she was gazing at Jessica in deep thought. Catching me staring, she walked over and whispered in my ear. Though, her close presence startled Queenie, who snuggled deeper into my chest to hide herself.
"Do you want her Jason? I don't really mind if that's the case." What in the fuck is this main character treatment? Guess I suddenly became a Harem Protagonist. What's next a loli, slave, princess, and a cat girl? Still, I shook my head.
"Nope." She sighed in relief but still gazed at Jessica. As if realizing something, she looked back at me and grinned.
"It's that goth look isn't it? You know, I'm already on that path." She tugged at her choker and giggled.
"Want me to do it? I wouldn't be opposed to trying out a new look." Such a kind soul she is. To think of my needs and random fetishes.
"You? Like that? You'd look good in anything you try and wear." She gasped a bit and smiled sweetly, kissing me on the cheek.
"But… please do so. Seriously." Alice laughed and nodded her head with a grin.
We turned our attention back to the duo of Lily and Jessica. One was a little scared and didn't move a muscle during their silence. While the second was glaring at the other. Seemingly making up her mind, she grabbed Jessica's throat and lifted her up like she weighed nothing.
"N-No! Pl-Please!" She pleaded, looking my way with hopeful eyes. Decisions, decisions! What to choose I wonder? Oh, I should really hurry up. She's close to dying!
"Go ahead Lily." All three of the ladies were shocked at my words. Especially Jessica.
"W-Wha-" Her neck was suddenly snapped by the smiling big sister, turning it into a thin piece of flesh. Like I thought, Lily was waiting for my decision. If I said nothing, she would take my silence as an answer. As for my promise to Jessica? Eh, I'm a lying hypocritical prick I guess. Learn new things about ourselves every day.
Turning towards me, Lily breathed a sigh of relief and rolled her shoulders.
"Ah! Killing her felt so good!" She walked up to me and grinned like a hyena.
"You only need us two for the rest of your life. Don't get greedy you fuck!" Saying that, she slapped me in the chest and marched away with an extra pep in her step.
"So weird." Alice agreed with me, nodding her head
"I know right?" Suddenly, a voice from the hallway echoed out.
"Shut the fuck up you assholes! Hurry it up!" We giggled and got a move on after her. Though, I couldn't help but take a look at my common infected.
They were pissed off. Full of extreme hatred for the humans in front of them. It wasn't anything retarded like the color of their skin, their gender, political affiliation, or if they're gay or not. Just a primal, basic hatred for them because of one simple reason. They weren't infected. If it wasn't because of my orders, they would have pinned them down and eaten them.
Once we arrived outside, I could tell how scared my darling Queenie was of all the creatures around. She wanted to escape and hide away, but didn't want to leave me. So, I did the next best thing. Wrap her up in a bundle of my webs and create a little home for her that I'll carry around. And for obvious reasons, no Blood Poison lacing them.
She calmed down immensely, joyfully laying down on her new sticky, but comfortable silver web. However, then she said she was starving which made me slap my forehead. No fucking shit she was hungry you moron! So, I quickly ran upstairs and got Jessica's body. It seemed poetic in a way to me. I mushed her down into a meaty paste and placed it inside Queenie's temporary home, making her very happy.
Finally! We were back on our way once more, my form back to it's original height. While walking, Athena and Trixie did question me about the new guest, which lead to me explaining her origins. They were captivated with my awesome battle with Queenie's mother, along with her Royal Guards.
This time, we didn't get sidetracked on our journey to the Docks, making it a smooth process. We did increase our numbers even more than before, bringing the Horde up to a casual 33,000 and some change. Though, the majority of them are made of common infected. But I imagine those big numbers will triple in a day or two when I send out my recruiters like Asura.
Suddenly, our conversation took a strange change. The culprit?
"You don't like Deviled Eggs?" Lily asked me, dumbfounded.
"Of course not. Shit tastes like cat piss rubbed in garbage." She was baffled, looking at me like a moron.
"Are you fucking kidding me Jason? How could you not love their delicious little selves?! Christ, I didn't know you were such a fucking loser with unrefined tastes." Her head shook from side to side, disappointed in me. Okay, we'll play that game bitch.
"Excuse me? What would a freak like you know of quality eating? Alice told me you used to eat chicken with fucking peanut butter. Really? Peanut butter?" Lily looked at the stunned little sister who held her hands up in mock surrender.
"Lily I-!" But she wouldn't hear it. Snapping at her with fury.
"That was told to you in confidence! How could you betray me like this you backstabbing fuck?!" Her head turned away from Alice, feigning a hurt look on her face.
Alice was about to come over and play along, when we stopped. Off in the distance was the broken down wall of shipping containers. The hole created by Scarface when he killed Zach and lured me away. But there was hope on the horizon! There, far in the distance, I could see healthy humans trying their best to repair the wall. Seems like they weathered the storm fine and dandy!
Without hesitation, we headed straight towards them with a long conga line of ravenous infected behind me. Our approach was spotted pretty goddamn quickly. Not exactly something you could hide after all.
But luckily for them, Carter just so happened to be helping out at the wall. Somehow, despite me becoming completely different than previously, he recognized me.
"Jason!" There was relief in his face as he quickly walked up to me, no fear. Wow, he really is a kind soul. Huh, I almost feel bad now. Showing me all this concern when I have such a nasty objective planned. But like I said. Almost.
"How did you know it was me?" He stopped and seemed confused, scratching his head.
"I don't know really. Just got that gut instinct feeling!" That doesn't make much sense, but neither do I.
He then looked behind me, his eyes widening at my Horde behind me.
"Uh... Jason? What's going on here?" I smiled warmly, which made more than a few guards at the wall shiver.
"I can control the infected. So don't worry about a thing." Suddenly, a familiar but tired voice reached my ears.
"Is that so? Good." Edward came over, looking very fucking exhausted. He probably hadn't slept at all during these last few days.
"You alright? Don't look so good." He smiled a bit.
"No worries, I can handle it. The storm did massive damage to us. More than half of our numbers are gone, with multiple holes in the wall that need to be fixed. We could honestly use some of your help. If you don't mind of course." Ah, this an awkward position he's putting me in. Well, no better time than the present.
"See, that's not gonna happen." They both became confused, before Edward turned pale. Smart fellow.
"Capture all of them and lock them inside the cargo ship." At my cold orders, the 33,000 infected behind me rushed forwards like a swarm of locusts. After holding themselves back for so long, they can finally let loose a bit. Edward and Carter were the first to be tackled to the ground, taken into custody.
Meanwhile, the other guards were frightened out of their wits at seeing so many infected come for them. Yet I gotta hand it to them. Despite all the fear running through their veins, they still fought back and opened fired at the coming horde.
But unlike movies and T.V. shows, they could not turn the tide or escape. Within the span of thirty minutes, my Horde captured every single human and healthy animal, throwing them in the cargo ship. Some of the humans tried to leave, but didn't get too far. I had already encircled the entire camp. Though, I did find it funny when a few jumped into the water and chose to die by fish.
Alice and Lily were certainly more than a little stunned, but they seemed mostly unconcerned. Even when seeing Bill and Tyrone get dragged away, they didn't care at all.
"You son of a bitch! I knew you were an evil bastard! Showing your true colors now?!" The old man angrily yelled at me as he struggled against the two infected holding him, making me laugh.
Did you really think I forgot? About how you tried to kill me so long ago? It was the logical choice and I would have done the same. And that changes absolutely nothing. That might make me a hypocrite, but so what? At least I'll acknowledge my many flaws. Besides, I have the power to be one.
"And you two! How could you stand by and watch this happen?! Can't you see what this monster has done to you?!" He tried to appeal to the sister's humanity in vain. They just coldly watched him get taken away by the two common infected. That flicker of morality in them has already been extinguished a good while ago.
"So this is what you wanted to do?" Alice asked me, understanding the things I said in the arena.
"Yeah. I'll experiment with them to create new infected and to perfect my Chosen." They looked at me strangely.
"Chosen? The cultists?" Lily said to me, making me shake my head with a smile.
"No, that's the name for my new Race. What you two are and what I am. Nice ring to it huh?" They both nodded, until Lily smirked. Uh oh.
"Let me guess. You couldn't think of anything else could you?"
"You... are such a lovable asshole."
