I abruptly ended the call with Jenna without giving her a response. I needed to talk to Mrs. Haverford before I made my decision. As I gradually lowered my hand from my ear to place the phone on the table, it immediately started ringing again - Jenna calling once more.
I turned my head and locked eyes with Mrs. Haverford who stood at the entrance. With determined strides, she approached me. She took a napkin and began to gently wipe away the tear stains on my face.
At that moment, I began to view her as a motherly figure, feeling a sense of comfort as she attended to me.

"But I feel useless to him," I whimpered, turning away and making my way toward the closet. Mrs. Haverford followed closely behind.
