"No," I replied firmly.
"What does she want?" Jordan asked, his curiosity evident in his soft tone.
"She and everyone on the island believe that I can stop Lord Elysia," I explained. Jordan furrowed his left brow, his expression unreadable. After a few moments of silence, he let out a mischievous hum.
"Really?" he said, a mischievous smile playing on his lips while his left brow remained furrowed.
"Yes," I affirmed and Jordan let out another mischievous hum. He took a deep breath as he reached for a mug of coffee Gerald had just dropped on the table beside him. He took a sip, maintaining eye contact with me the entire time. He dropped the cup back on the table and turned his face towards me again.
"Sweetheart, you're not going anywhere," Jordan murmured, squinting his eyes to convey how serious he was.
"But they are my people, and they saved my life," I said calmly with my head slightly bowed.
