"Tomorrow is Saturday. Can we meet then for your reading coaching?" Jordan asked, his voice hopeful. I nodded in agreement.
"Alright," Jordan said, as he moved back and rested his head on my lap. I continued to play with his hair, savoring the texture and enjoying the moment. It was evident from his relaxed posture that he was also cherishing the affectionate gesture.
Jordan whispered, his head buried in my lap, "One of my friends wants to talk to his father about taking you to serve in their pack. He wants you close to him."
"Why does he want me to be close to him?" I asked.
"He believes that you and he are meant to be together and wants you to be close to him. Perhaps it is because both of you have similar birthmarks," Jordan replied.
Perplexed, I inquired, "Why does he think that? Did you tell him that we have similar birthmarks?"
