"Honestly, I don't know if Sophia is dead," Jose said, his eyes filled with intense pain as he looked at me. "I called her the night before she left. She told me that both of you would be leaving White Fangs the next day. When Alpha Benjamin brought you to Lunar Palace, I was surprised. I had thought maybe they went after your mother and captured you, but I was taken aback when I heard that your mother intentionally left you behind," Jose said, his voice low to avoid being overheard.
"Did she tell you who my father is?" I asked, desperately hoping for a positive response. At that moment, all I needed was support from either of my parents.
"No, Sophia vowed to keep the identity of your biological father a secret from everyone. No matter how close we were, she never told me who your father was," Jose replied, crushing my hope once again.
