"Wake up now you sleepy head!!" A familiar young female voice screeched in Alexander's left ear making him jump awake in shock.
He screwed his face in frustration and ruffled his silk dark hair lazily. "Was that really necessary?" He mumbled in annoyance at his younger sister Emma who never fails to grab any opportunity at torturing him awake whenever she wakes up first.
"Yes it was," Emma replied him in a happy tone, Her blue eyes twinkling due to the sunlight streaming across the window.
"I can see you worked all night." Emma commented with a small laugh as she scanned the whole room which has different kinds photo images scattered all around making it look like a museum of photographs.
"Yeah I did worked all night so you should have just let me sleep to make up for it arrrgh." Alex grumbled as he began to get up from the bed.
"I am sorry to have disturb you my darling handsome brother, but mom wants you downstairs ASAP. They are dying to know how your interview went yesterday at Anné's magazines and co." Emma said cheekily then began to assist her elder brother in packing all photographs from the bed and floors into the box where he usually keeps them.
Alex had arrived home late yesterday, After his interview he had met up and gone out with some of his friends from college whom had still being in touch with him after their graduation two years ago.
Though he was an introvert, Alex couldn't keep count of the number of friends he has, They all wanted to befriend him because of his looks, Girls mostly.
He was very popular during his highschool days and college too. Everyone has a crush on him, Even guys were attracted to him.
He knew he has an unreal type of beauty but he never made a big deal out of it. His mom never stops bragging about how she birthed a very beautiful and handsome boy.
She and his grandma always say he looks like his father who had died in the military when he was six two months before his sister's birth.
He had never been in a romantic relationship with a girl before, The only girl he has ever been so close with was his childhood friend Anastasia who is currently still studying at an Australian University.
Alex was always the center of attention everywhere he goes, People just never got used to his appearance. He's not the kind to flaunt his beauty but others did it for him.
He had done so many interviews at different media company but wasn't able to work in any one. Not because he wasn't good, Infact he is very talented at photo and video graphics. But because of they were too quick to hire him just because of his looks and not his talents.
He had heard a lot about Anné magazines and co and it's Fierce CEO. One of his friends in the same area of profession as him told him of their strict ways of hiring staffs.
He was told the Owner of Anné doesn't care if one was a fashionista or a celebrity or mostly if you are the most beautiful or handsome person in the world. All you just need to be is an Ace in your field of work.
That was exactly what he needed, A stonehearted person to work for.
But he was shocked when she hired him despite looking fiercely angered yesterday. He saw different type of emotions in her expressions. From intense anger to sadness to vulnerability and excitement. She looked really messed up and so beautiful all the same.
Was that the reason why she hired him? Just because she was frustrated? That's what he wanted to believe because there's hell in no way she would have hired him just for his looks only.
He had decided to settle down at Anné because he believed the company to be more orderly and cooperative.
"Aren't you guys not gonna come for breakfast?!" They heard their mom yelled loudly from downstairs. "Coming!" Emma yelled back and rushed downstairs after threw a wink and Alex.
He smirked and continued clearing up the room before setting up the bed. He came downstairs thirty minutes later after he had freshen up.
He was not surprised to see his family sitting on at the dining with the breakfast untouched. They literally wouldn't eat until he showed up at the dining except he wasn't around. It was one of their tricks of pulling him away from his non-stop working.
"When will you stop doing this mom?" He questioned with a smile as he walked over to her.
"I don't think I can ever stop my dear, Without you we are incomplete," She said and gave him a kiss on his forehead likewise his grandma.
It's their form of greeting which they never fail to do every morning. Across the dining room was a big frame of their father in a military uniform back in his twenties.
"Uff!" Emma grumbled in annoyance at the whole affectionate greetings which according to her was a waste of time for she was terribly hungry.
Emma is a twenty years old fashion designer, She makes the exact copies of most of the trendy dresses from different clothing brands especially Anné's by herself.
She uploads all the copied styles and the ones she created herself alongside the videos of her working on the creations on tiktok with her elder brother's assistance.
She had garnered hundreds of thousands of followers due to the extremely talented editing skills used in the videos made by her Alex. Almost all of her followers followed her because of her brother and always requested for her to make a video with him in it.
He had never appeared in any of her videos, But Emma had intentionally uploaded a video of him unbeknownst to him on her account which made her fans gushed over him earning her lots of followers more.
"Why are you grunting Emma?" Their mom sarcastically questioned when she saw an annoyed expression on Emma's face.
"Because I am so hungry mom, Do we always have to wait for him to come downstairs?" Emma whined a threw Alex an irritated look at which he only smiled mockingly at.
They all then began to have breakfast immediately after prayers were said.
"So Alex, How did your interview went yesterday?" Cassandra asked her son not quite long after breakfast. "Did the ruthless and fierce CEO fall for your charming look?" Cassandra added with a jesting smile on her face.
Emma had gone upstairs to begin her daily fashion routine.
"Mom common!" Alex pleaded. His mom was the number one fan of his, She never loses a chance to brag about Alex's gifts.
Cassandra, A forty two years old woman with two grown up children is a renowned comedian in the whole family, Her mom jokes and laughter are one of the main reasons for the family's happiness.
She has a great comical energy around her that even her facial expressions could make you unable to keep your laughter for long. She raised both Alex and Emma with great positivity even throughout the most difficult situations in her life.
When her husband died most people expected her to turn a sad depressed woman but she never did. Her children made her world lit up even more. Cassandra couldn't be more proud as a mother for raising her children well.
"My interview went well mom, I got hired and it certainly wasn't because of that." Alex explained to her.
"Nah, I don't think so. Because there's no way she'd see you and refuse to hire you, I am very certain it was because your handsomeness she hired you Alex," Cassandra said and bursted into a fit of laughter but stopped immediately she saw that Alex wasn't smiling.
"I said I wasn't hired because of my looks or anything, If I were I wouldn't want to resume over there mom," Alex said to his mom in a serious tone he rarely uses.
His mom quickly gathered herself together and apologized for not taking the situation seriously.
"So you've decided to work at Anné?" She asked and he nodded lightly. "I am genuinely happy for you son! Trust me you'll go all over the media in seconds," Cassandra explained happily, Alex sighed. His mom just couldn't go a second without praising him for doing even nothing.
"Thank you Mom, I am so happy you are happy." Alex said and prepared to go upstairs and continue what he was doing all night before but Cassandra held his hands before he could do so. She had something to tell him.
"What is it this time mom?" Alex asked in obvious frustration.
"Both you and Anastasia are still in touch right?" She asked with a smile.
Anastasia is Alex's best friend from childhood right from birth, They grew up together and literally can't do without seeing each other. All the girls envied her because of her closeness to him. Anastasia was one of the few people Alex never jokes with.
They were like fire and ice. Anastasia the former while Alex the latter. One could easily think they were both in a romantic relationship during their highschool days. After highschool they both went to different colleges in different countries. Alex had gone to study photography while Anastasia studied law.
Cassandra got worried that their bond might weaken due to the distance but it never did.
They called each other day and night and spoke as if they were together. Every semester break Anastasia always came back to the city mostly for Alex.
But both of them has been so busy during the past one month that they only called each other thrice a week now. It was so unlike them and Cassandra couldn't help but ask about it.
They rarely argue with each other and even if they did, It didn't always last long.
"Yes Mom, We are still in touch with each other," Alex simply said and smiled warmly before heading upstairs.
