I put the phone back into the right internal pocket of my leather jacket and, after thinking about what to do, I headed back to the restaurant. I hope George is still there! I'm so happy for this great news! This time, I'll have to buy him a drink... When I arrive, I notice that the light is still on, and inside, you can still hear voices talking. I think some customers come at the last minute... I enter and the bell above the door rings, making the two guys sitting at a table turn with surprise. She always comes here to talk to him even if I never ask him directly. After all, I'm a little afraid of his answer.
"What are you doing here? I thought you said you were going back home right after this order!" George asks, looking at me a little surprised.
"Hi, Samuel!" exclaims at the same time the blueish girl. I nicknamed her like that because her blue curls match the color of her eyes. I believe she likes the color blue... Many of her clothes and accessories are in that color! This phenomenon can be justified thanks to our advanced technology.
"Hello, Nandy" I respond to her greeting. "I came back here because I changed my mind about drinking together..." I keep saying, answering George's question. The two look at each other, making me curious when I see Nancy wink at my boss.
"Perfect! Then we can head out right away!" George exclaims with joy, getting up from the chair with a bit of rush and with a slight blush on his cheeks. I stare at him, amazed by his strange behavior and I turn my gaze to question him. She gives me a smile, which I don't know how to describe, and I shake my head, both amused and annoyed by all this.
"You two try to have fun!" she exclaims with a slightly pervy look.
"Of course, we'll have fun!" he retorts and, then, pushes me out of the restaurant. I couldn't even say anything... Before leaving, George opens the door and asks Nancy to lock the building and turn on the alarm. We start walking towards our usual bar, but I remember that I don't have the right clothes to go in there.
"George... I should change before getting into a club!" I exclaim, looking at him with the corner of my eye. He looks at me from head to toe and nods a little.
"You're right... If you want, we can stop by my house so I can lend you some of my clothes!" he suggests. "And I'm sorry about my cousin's weird behavior." he keeps saying. Then she's his cousin...
"Why did Nancy behave like that? And why would you want to go to your house?" I ask, wanting to know the meaning of this. After he hears this question, he looks at his feet for a moment, maybe to think about what to tell me, and then he looks up at me.
"You know Nancy a little weird..." he starts explaining. I look at him not convinced by this half-answer, making him giggle nervously. "And my house is close to the restaurant so, after we settle down, it's better to walk into a bar" George keeps saying.
"I understand..." I whisper. "Then show me the way!" I say with a smile.
George pov
On the way to my house, all you can hear is the cars passing since neither of us is talking. What an embarrassing return... Who knows what Samuel will be thinking? I start thinking. I hope he's not cursing at me... And I wish that there won't be all this quietness while we're at the bar together! I keep pondering. I hear in my ears the sound of my frantic beat.
After a short time, we arrive in front of my house and, after taking out the key, I open the door. I'll signal Samuel to go inside before I do, and then I'll go inside, too. Tonight I have to ask him! I think with a strong determination and then I close the door behind me.
